Good central location. Fresh, newly renovated and modern interiors. Service was polite but i hardly needed any help with anything so hard to judge. The continental breakfast was simple but high quality and the breakfastbroom has a pleasant atmosphere that feels more like a cafe than a hotel dining room. Wifi worked well but limited to 1 device. A nice touch that it was included in the rate (as was breakfast). I asked for a room on a higher floor and was put on 15, the top floor. Small windows, maybe because of the nature of the old building. Good modern tv, etc, with lots of channels. Spacious bathroom and decent shower (took a minute or 2 forbhotbwater to arrive). Comfortable bed and a practical desk with lots of power sockets. Have stayed in nine zero previously. I would rank them similarly with Ames posibly edging it though not everyone will like the minimalist style and approach.

There's really nothing to complain about; a very nice hotel. I've stayed here a couple of times and it has been consistently good, from the friendly front desk staff to the bed quality. Oh, the soap smells to much, but that's about it.

My stay happened to coincide with the Boston lockdown on April 18-19. Under some very adverse circumstances the staff remained calm and professional, doing their best to deliver quality service. I especially commend the staff at Martha's restaurant for thier superior customer service. Very stayable hotel, especially if you're going THERE and not aiming to use it as a jumping off point to see Boston. A couple pretty solid restaurants and a Starbucks in walking distance; the room had a deep tub, good heating & cooling, and nice large windows. "Checking in was a hassle"
I made the reservation earlier that day, when I got there they couldn't find it, it took 5 min for they to just say "here it is". Then they forgot to give me voucher for breakfast. I had to return to service desk the next morning when they were charhing me 64 bucks for breakfast for 4 guests, when on reservation clearly stated "4 people free full breakfast". "Unexpectedly great stay!"
Stayed for a Friday night out in nearby Allston. Much nicer room/amenities/lobby than I'd expected. Easy cab ride to Allston (~$15). Front desk let us check out a half hour late on Saturday for no charge and with no questions asked. There was some noise from the highway, but nothing that we noticed without looking for it. And the food and service at […] Martha's was awesome - they were nice enough to let us order breakfast after service hours had technically finished. The home fries were the best we've had! I didn't actually notice the surrounding neighborhood, except for noting that there was a Dunkin Donuts and a restaurant or two directly across the street. "Beautiful surprise"
My newly renovated room was just beautiful -- attractive decor, pristine cleanliness. And, for my access needs, the New Crowne Plaza was ideally situated between downtown Boston and a Cambridge address -- a quick zip in either direction got me where I needed to be. "noisy but convenient"
I have stayed at this hotel 2 or 3 times, and it is the convenience that brings me back. Directly OVER the Mass Pike, you can get to downtown Boston in 20 minutes or less (or more if you battle rush hour). Much cheaper than any of the downtown hotels. Since it is literally built OVER the Mass Pike, you hear the noise of traffic all night. Given that […] it is constant, I do not find the noise unbearable. On this last stay, however, the in-room HVAC unit kept cycling on and off which DID wake me up. Uno is across the street, and while they are famous for their pizza (I lived in Chicago and Uno makes a horrible version of a chicago deep dish) they serve one of the best burgers I have had. "Great Place to stay for the price"
I have stayed here twice and both times it was great. I live in NYC where an average hotel is much higher than what i paid and honestly you dont get half the service you get at the Crown Plaza. This place is clean, professional, and comforatble! however there is one very large downside to this hotel and that is the lack of channels for the Bruins games! "Pretty room, poor night's sleep"

"Not the best location."

About 2 blocks away there is a good Thai restaurant--ask front desk. , also an Italian one--Bertulucchi's, a chain.The ones directly across the street are pub/fast- food types. Main drawback to the hotel is it straddles the freeway. Noise was NOT a problem, and the room had good darkening shades. BUT getting on and off the freeway to access the street […] wherethe hotel is was difficult driving--a "rotary" with cars crossing back and forth left to right/right to left has to navigated twice.. It's a crazy location over the turnpike. But the location is barely removed from downtown Boston; public transportation via the bus is simple. You can very easily and quickly get to BU's campus or downtown. The hotel is very clean and well kept. Had stayed at this hotel a couple years ago & seems like there have been some upgrades. The room was clean,and spacious. There are just 2 things that could be improved. Would like to see more "hooks" in the bathroom. There is no place to hang even the hand towel. Also, the pillows are the worst thing I've slept on, they're small & hard. Staff was great. "Check-in never cordial, beds are great"
I have stayed here several times, and I always have basically the same experience at checkin, they are NOT friendly and NEVER act like they are happy to have your business. "Great location for us"
The hotel is easily accessible to the Mass Pike and was very close to our relatives in Newton. It is a nice hotel, not the Ritz that I stayed at a few days earlier, but comfortable bed, reasonably priced food, and a staff willing to help. Unfortunately they don't go the extra mile and attend to those little needs unless you ask. But apart from that […] It was fine. The noise people complain about was not bad, Sometimes I slept with ear plugs, sometimes I didn't... My family didn't need them. If you need to be close to the Pike or to the Newton/Watertown, Chestnut Hill area, it'll do fine. Overall we had a pleasant experience.
