"Close to Buell theater"
We enjoyed it and would go back. We loved the window seat with the bay window and the fact you could open it a couple of inches to hear what was going on outside. The bed was great. "10 year anniversary"
Thank you so much for making our weekend anniversary getaway so memorable. We enjoyed the room so much as well as the great champagne and strawberries that were of no charge sent and poured for us in our room as well. "Great getaway hotel."
The Westin Downtown Denver is an excellent place to stay for a weekend getaway in the city. We've stayed here many times when attending one of the productions at the Center for the Performing Arts and have loved the closeness and convenience to the complex and some of the excellent restaurants downtown. "Thumbs Up to the Westin Denver Downtown"
As a family of 5, children's ages ranging from 10-18, we found the Westin to be a very suitable hotel. The location is phenomenal in that you just have to step out the door onto 16th Street and spend hours browsing shops and visiting restaurants. "Not good customer service"
My stay was on December 31st for New Year's Eve. When I booked online with Hotels.com there was no mention that the indoor/outdoor pool was closed for renovation. My grandchildren were going to go with me for the swimming - they ended up cancelling because the pool was closed. When I called the hotel, I was offered a $25 credit on my room for any charges […] due to the pool situation ... when I checked-out, there was no $25 credit. I was too frustrated to even bring it up. The following morning, I called ahead to get my car out of valet parking - about 10 minutes later when I went down the valet had not been notified, so he had to rush to get my car. Overall, I thought the face-to-face service was great, but by phone it was awful. I felt that the room was dated and was needing an update, especially the bathroom. "Solid performer but for price there's better..."
Overall a solid "Westin" Experience. For a 5 I would have liked the coffee island to be fully replenished (one day there were no stirrers, the next no sweet & lo'). You just can't beat the location of this hotel! It's close to shopping, dining and attractions! The bed was very comfortable, which is a huge consideration for me. It was great for the most part. Ordered breakfast room service. I must have misunderstood the menu and did not get a muffin or pastry. So called down and asked that one be sent up. It never came. During our stay, we had a maintenance problem and the entire issue was handled very poorly and we have yet to speak to a manager regarding the problem. A supervisor or manager was not available at the time of our check out and will not return our phone calls. They have left us with the impression that our business is not important to them. "To busy for you."
I requested and purchased online a room with a double bed and a mountain view, and called the Hotel to confirm this. When I arrived at the hotel weeks later they advised me that they had no rooms available with double beds. I also purchased a mountain view and they gave me a room that looked right at another hotel. "Very convenient for short walking to restaurants"
Excellent service and accomodations. The beds were particularly good, and the linens were equally fine. The staff was friendly and helpful. Car was delivered promptly when called for. Great location, great surroundings, great area. We went to Denver from san francisco to watch watch the giants play over the weekend. "Very nice hotel, weird "go green" promotion"
Lovely room, great location, nice common spaces, friendly staff. The only thing a bit weird was their new promotion to not have your room cleaned each evening, going green, for which you get a $5.00 Starbucks card. Three women in a room for a weekend in Denver and we decided to take the deal, but besides not cleaning the room, you don't get any extra […] supplies, like shampoo, unless you get them from room service. "Average hotel not worth the price"
The only redeeming factor is the location otherwise it is not worth the cost. I have stayed in many hotels in different cities and expected something more than a basic hotel room. The bathroom photo displayed in the portfolio on the Expedia page showed a seperate shower but the the actual bathroom had a shower in the bathtub. "Bad night in Denver"
1st. My truck is lifted and they do not have any over size parking. They made no effort to park my truck. 2nd. I told them we had 1 1/2 hours to get checked in and get to the concert we were in Denver to see. They would only park my truck in front for a maximum of one hour. 3rd. While I was driving around looking for a parking place, they would not […] let my wife check us in to our room. I had to drive back to the hotel, check us in, then go looking for a parking place again. 4th. Had to spend $35.00 parking my truck in an open lot with no security. Someone stole diesel out of my truck over night. 5th. After we got in our room, the toilet was running and wouldn't stop, I had to fix the toilet. 6th. Ordered 2 bottles of wine at 1:00 a.m., got the $135.00 worth of wine at 2:00 a.m. and it was the wrong wine. Didn't even open it, put it in my suitcase and took it home with me. Very poor service. Our bathroom had hair everywhere and the shower didn't work. No fridge or microwave. The elevator wasnt working.Parking is outrageous. Starbuck and the pool were nice though. "Not really thant great for a Westin"
The hotel is in a great location but so are many others. It was a heat wave and the air conditioner barely worked. When we called for maintenence they gave us this huge large fan instead of fixing it- we were there for 5 days with the huge, loud fan. The valet service was convenient and the lobby was impressive. Beds were very comfortable and had nice views. But...there was only one robe, the knob for the shower rattled in its fixture, paint was peeling on the ceiling of the shower and carpet was coming up by the door. In a time when so many places are offering free Wifi (McDonald's has it!!!) "Good Downtown location"
The door man/Valet were very helpful, printed us out maps to go hiking and suugested the best places to go. Only one thing that wasn't very good was the charge for internet connection, paying a decent price per night one would think the internet would be free of charge.
