An amazing hotel right on the beach, with incredible pools and within walking distance to all of the downtown action! All of that plus a very friendly staff. We loved it! Be prepared to see a lot of other guests, because this is a very large and popular hotel. However, the property is so expansive and well designed that it really did not seem that crowded.

Hotel is in a great location, has one of the better pools (infinity) in Waikiki; decent restaurant for lunch and cocktails; breakfast buffet is good; only negative was the room was very basic in terms of the decor, furniture, etc. Oh and the walls are prettty thin, heard a kid screaming in the middle of the night each night we were there.

Beautifully presented and staffed hotel. We (Partner and 11yr old Son) stayed for 2 short visits either side of a Mainland visit. Contact the hotel when you book and request a Diamond Head view, it's just makes the room appear alot bigger, we were on the 10th floor, overlooking the main pool (no noise) whilst the otherside of the oceanview gives pleasant views to sea, you're overlooking the adults pool and bar (not ideal when trying to get excited children to bed) (I'd stay away from a mountain view) Two Laundries are located on the 5th &18th flr, save your quarters. Eateries are great in the Hotel, however walk out to the main entrance turn left and within 200mtrs is a street full of all the Eating options you'd desire. All the staff were very happy and endeavoured to do what they could to meet any reasonable request. Well worth a stay.

We have been to Oahu a few times and decided to try the Sheraton. The ONLY good thing is the pool!!!! The hotel is STILL undergoing construction which I remember from almost 2 years ago. You can hear a lot of the noise through out the day and the entrance is SO inconvenient. You can ask anybody about their elevators they are horrible the button for the elevator is in the middle of each floors lobby on pedestals not on the wall so we would watch everyone press the button and run to the elevator, which many people missed! There are so many hotels with the same convenient location on Waikiki, so I would absolutely keep looking!!!!!

Great hotel for the price and location. The construction starts precisely at 8 AM everyday except Sunday though, so be prepared. I would recommend a city-scape room that doesn't face the construction areas on the ocean side.

Unsatiesfied with the service. House keeping needs improvement. Better hotels in the area for the same money.

Upgraded to a very large suite upon arrival. A nice touch.

Great place to stay if you're bringing family. Get room with oceanside view....its worth the extra money to wake up and retire to a beautiful view. Right on the beach with number of pools so there is plenty to keep kids occupied by just staying at hotel (While there they were constructing an additional patio/pool in back which will add more relaxation area. Only shortcoming is limited beach area where lounge chairs and umbrellas are permitted. Guests reserve them as early as 8AM and Sheraton charges $45 for umbrella rental! So either get out there early before it gets crowded or hang out pool side. Location is great. Right there with all the retail on Kalakaua Ave and adjacent to a beautiful passive park dedicated to Beatrice Bishop (descendant of King Kamehameha).

The hotel was just okay. Temperature in the hotel common areas was always hot and muggy. Staff was excellent. Hotel is under a lot of construction right now. They are expanding the pool area. Right now there is no space at the pool for guests. Way over crouded. Was not worth the price paid for the hotels. I would suggest the Westin - two hotels down.

Great ocean view, rooms were newly renovated - flat screen tv, modern bathroom etc. Location is unparalleled - all major shops, restaurants, beach located within walking distance. Construction on the pool is still ongoing. But overall, this is an outstanding hotel.

The hotel was still under renovation but our room was very nice. The ocean front view was superb. We were also able to see Diamod Head from our room. I was not satisfied by the bell mans response when I asked where I the hotel parking was.

Nice room with a great view. Great value for a last minute get away.

I have loved this hotel for so many years that it is sad to recommend against it. But, it is a 2-star hotel with a 5-star view--if you get an ocean front room. I rented two, supposedly identical rooms, for my stay. One had a side chair the other didn't. One had a cordless phone, the other didn't. Each room got one bar of soap to share with sink and shower. Leadking bathtub. Leaking sink. Lamps were bright but looked like they came from a discount warehouse. Beds were excellent. AC was good. Service was very friendly. No newspaper delivered to room. New pool is very nice, but I miss the old pool-side bar. Bottom line: Awesome view. If you want more than that, go somewhere else.

My room was facing the ocean frontside of the hotel. It was amazing waking up to the sunrising. I was also able to see sea turtles from my balcony. The beds were really comfortable. Great place to relax. The RumFire restaurant had some delicious food. Centrally located next to beaches, landmarks and plenty of shopping.

The hotel was under construction for remodeling, but things that were completed were beautiful. Rooms are nice and the views and ocean sounds are fantastic

When the construction is completed this will be a delightful place to stay in Waikiki.

This hotel claims to have recently renovated rooms. They should definitely fire their designer. These room are terrible. They only sprayed a coating on the tub and put a new top on the vanity. The coating on the tub was peeling off and looked unsightly. The sink sprayed water on the floor when you turn it on. The carpets were worn and dirty. The refrigerator made a banging noise when it turned on which woke me up many times a night. The windows and doors were original equipment and were outdated and unsightly. The air conditioner made a loud noise each time it came on which was frequent thanks to the aluminum clad single pane windows. I found it impossible to get a restful night sleep in this hotel. As bad as the property is, the staff is even worse. From the moment we walked in the door, the staff was non-responsive, uncaring, and rude. We did not find a single stand-out. The staff acted as if we were intruding on their personal space. I am a loyal Starwood customer but I cannot recommend this property. I wish we had chosen the Hyatt this time.

We were very pleased with the hotel overall. There was a lot of hotel construction going on so not everything was open but we would stay there again. The one complaint is that the pool closed each day by 5pm and it would have been nice to have it open until 7 or 8.

The hotel is under renovation. The view is great. The rooms are sparse and tight. Considering the economy in Hawaii and the condition of the hotel, it is way overpriced for what you get. Much better deals in town.

Construction ongoing, plywood blocks ist floor views.No beach as in photos must walk latterally to same.Very noisy music in first floor bar [trying to be a singles place] VERY GOOD HAPPY HOUR ON WED 2 half price tapas are a meal with salt fries. Very helpful desk bells etc.

We were given a very spacious room, suite really, for a great price. The room was perfect for our needs although it did need some refurbishing. These were minor and did not affect our stay. The hotel staff was helpful and made our stay very pleasant; we will check for availability at this hotel for our next trip to Honolulu.

The Sheraton was extremely nice but we were unaware that they were making MAJOR changes to the lobby, resturant and pool areas. During our stay, the pool area and resturant was closed and a new pool and resturant was opened on the other side of the hotel lobby. Only, you could not see it from the lobby because of the contruction and there were no announcements regarding these changes to the guests. We came in from snorkling and picked up some lunch and took it to the new resturant area - after walking through all the construction barriers - but we were told we could not eat our lunch there unless we ordered from the Sheraton's menu. So, we had to leave. After this experience I will be more take steps to be more informed about current construction or renovations going on a hotel that I plan on staying at. Our reservations were made 8 months prior to our visit but I imagine this contruction was already planned at that time and I feel like we should have been informed.

This is one of the biggest, busiest hotels in Hawaii. So why is the front desk so poorly staffed? There are probably 1,000+ guests in the hotel at any time. So why is there often only one person at the front desk? If you need anything be prepared for a 20 minute wait. Additionally, even though many hotels now offer free wi-fi, they still charge at this hotel. Bad form, considering how much they already charge you for the rooms. Then, after you pay for it, watch how other wi-fi services come in to override their service! You'd think they would know or care that this is going on.

I think the hotel does a good job with having activities for the guest to do free of charge to learn more about Hawaii.

I think there should be a dresser in room not just shelves. and there should be a chair to sit on

my biggest complaint is the fact that the walls are paper thin - I could hear the person next door sneezing through the walls.

One of the outstanding hotel. Prefer to stay again during the next visit. Breakfast was excellent.

Hotel is currently upgrading facilities, which is good, however, the dining choices are limited and expensive. The main dining room is currently closed for evening dining, which may be, but I did not see on the website prior to going. So we were not prepared to go searching for dinning places as our walking capabilities are limited. So our food/dining choices were extremely limited. The hotel general is very nice and we enjoyed the nightly entertainment at the pool side. Staff were very friendly and made our stay very pleasant

The entire tub was peeling, the room had obvious patches that did not match original paint, they did not do a great job when they cleaned... and yes the glasses urban myth is true, they did not replace or wash them.

This hotel defenitely meets great standards. Its location is unbelievaly perfect. Right in the heart of Waikiki and located beach front, The Sheraton Waikiki is a must stay! Also check out the Ty Gurney surf school.
