Perfect location for Waikiki. Rooms ok. We had a balcony towards the back road and there was a constant noise from a vent or something that was annoying. There was no free internet on the premises (15 dollars a day). Parking was 30 dollars a day! The pool was closed (we got access to a pool a few blocks away). I was so excited when I walked into the hotel and saw how nice and interesting the lobby/shopping area was. (The hotel over all stay was fine and the atmosphere was fine but upon check in my excitement vanished). The gentleman who checked my husband and I in said the mountain view king room we booked was taken but he had an upgrade for us. I am not […] one to be difficult so I was fine with the change until he told us the change was to a 2 double bed 'ocean view' room. I was not satisfied with this because I had come all the way from the east coast of NC where I have plenty of ocean to look at but no volcanoes/mountains and husband is a very tall man who can not fit in a double bed easily by himself let alone with another person. We tried to get any other room for the king bed for my husband but he said they were all taken. The gentleman even smirked a little when we were requesting this. I understand rooms tend to get mixed up but I do not think it is appropriate to smirk at a customer who has chosen to stay at the hotel. He then told us about the room fees which my husband insisted he waive. The gentleman did waive the fees but with the waiver we did not get the room extras such as wifi (which was fine but is that really waiving them?). Once in our room we opened the curtains to see our 'ocean view' which was the other tower of the hotel, the city, and a pinch of the ocean. I cannot complain about the location. It's on beautiful Waikiki beach. Now complains: 25+ dollar resort fee per night, which adds nothing to your stay if you have a smartphone. Plus 30+ dollar parking fee per night. Parking lot is so narrow; it can get little scary. Paying extra 55+ dollars per night for basics. My room did not have a cabinet or coffee […] machine. This hotel really is in a great location, convenient to all the shopping/dining/nightlife of Waikiki. We chose it because it was billed as a resort/spa. Unfortunately, we later learned the prices of the spa were outrageous ($500 for a 2 hour massage, etc). Also, the pool was super tiny. This hotel need to be updated in a big way. While the hotel and more importantly the rooms apper to be clean. They are aging and look well worn. The AC does not work very well and can take hours to cool your room. If you are on a lower floor be prepared as Waikiki is VERY loud. They put us in a room next to the elevator shaft and every time the elevator moves, it sounded like a train has passed by, so by all means DO NOT stay in one of these rooms. After me complaining to the staff, they moved us to another room but the heater wasn't working in that room. I know this is Hawaii so why do we need heaters. Well I have an 18 months […] old with me and even though they set the thermostat to 72, there was no hot air coming up so the room turned out to be around 69 degrees when we arrived. I complained about the a/c to the staff but nothing was done to fix it. So I improvised by turning on the hot shower full blast and used the steam to heat the room up. We asked for ocean view, which was a great view, however, the noise level was so high, it was never a good night sleep. We were on the 8th floor. There was a lot of noise- and it was not from the streets. This was my only problem.

We spent a week here in Dec. 2012 and it was excellent. Great location, great service. We also had a great ocean view from the 28th floor. Rooms are very nice and well kept. Before going I had read that the elevators could be crowded and wait times were sometimes long at peak hours. There was one fluke occassion where it took about 10 minutes. We stayed for a week and loved the location! Right on the main street across from Waikiki Beach and a few blocks from many high end shops and great restaurants- just perfect! I had tea every morning in the Libby, where the girl at Kimobean always remembered my order, and drank it on the beach. I had an eyebrow shaping at the spa which was expensive […] but worth it. A nice treat is the expedia desk so we were able to book a tour of Pearl Harbor and a luau right in the lovely lobby. Towels woefully thin, extremely large hotel, not well managed, that caters to men and Japanese. If you're not either, be prepared to be disappointed. I'm a gold passport holder and feel that I was treated shabbily. I won't stay there - or probably any Hyatt - again.

We were happy with our stay at the hyatt. The hotel room was available so we were able to check-in early. Our room was big and they gave us a cot for our 6 years old son. The rooms are poorly furnished and arranged: one easy chair, one hard desk chair, a small desk up against the wall and a small buffet with an ancient LG TV on top, a small refrigerator below, a safe, and three small drawers. If you order room service you’ll be eating with the plate on your knees. Want to watch TV? You’ll have to lie on the bed, because there is nowhere to sit in view of the TV. Glassware consists of two small glasses in the bathroom. There is a one-cup coffee machine with paper cups provided. Towels are Holiday Inn-style: thin and cheap. No bathrobes. Single-ply toilet paper. The pool area is small, and the pool itself is not much more than a “plunge pool.” There are 20 or 30 loungers in the pool area with stained cushions. The poolside bar is so bare and uninviting and empty all of the time. The main restaurant is the same—large, unadorned, cold and usually empty. If you want to connect to the internet, make sure you are in a room where the wifi signal is strong enough to be usable. The front desk staff know where they are. Unlike all other Hyatt Regency hotels I’ve seen, the lobby has nowhere to sit. I mean that literally. I have only three good things to say about the Hyatt. The room was supposed to be non-smoking and "pure" certified. However, the room smelled stale, musty, and smoky. In fact we had to complain sever times and were eventyally given a noisy air purifier. Our situation could be unique or maybe we are just "sensitive" to smoke, but it was pretty bad, even as you got off the elevator and walked down the halls. my boyfriend and i recently stayed at the hyatt for 6 nights. we were at first put in a city view room (what we payed for) however the hotel was under going maintenance and so the balcony door had been bolted to the wall for safety reasons (so we couldnt use the balcony however the views weren't good anyways so we wouldnt have). as well, the room was […] near a lift and was very loud/annoying. so i went to reception and asked to be moved into a different room. the boy who served me was lovely and upgraded us to the 34th floor. with this room the elevator no longer bothered us and we scored a view of diamond head as well as waikiki beach! he was in no way hesistant in changing our room. the staff were always soo friendly too us and the hotel was ABSOLUTELY fantastic. we ordered room service several times and it was amazing. i would DEFINITELY recommend this hotel and i would LOVE to stay there in the future! 5/5 from me with no doubt about it. Some noises are design issues & some are location, but the most disappointing ones are the noises that would be easy & economical to resolve & they just have decided not to do it. They told us the average visitor comes from Japan and stays just 3-4 nights. We enjoyed the adult atmosphere of this Waikiki beach front hotel . The restaurants and pool area were more "couple" friendly than other hotels we have stayed at in Hawaii. The only thing disappointing was the lack of a dresser and drawers in the sink area to store makeup and toiletries. The staff was excellent and we will be back again next year!

Better points: More shops and restaurants are available inside Hotel. Japanese language is supported and hotel location is convenient for first time visitors. To be improved: Using swimming pool and WiFi charges were required additionally. Other my friends' rooms of 33rd floor of Ewa tower had a problem of bathroom shower. Weak water pressure?

My room was a little dated but very comfortable and maintained immaculately throughout my stay - it's worth a little extra money for an ocean view room. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The Expedia Travel Local staff (located adjacent to the front desk) were very knowledgeable about the […] tours available on Ohau and the neighbouring islands and made all of the areangements for all the tours I booked without a hitch. If this was just about the quality of the hotel then I’d be scoring a 4 or 5. The rooms are nowhere near as impressive as the modern Vegas hotels, but they’re on a par with similar hotels in other cities. The big disappointment was the view. This was to be a very special holiday and when we booked the main criteria was an ocean view and we chose the […] Hyatt because it was a high-rise with nothing between it and the ocean, and of course we paid for an ‘ocean view’. We were given a room on the 14th floor (out of 40+?) which had a ‘view’ of a multi storey car park filling the entire window; certainly taller than the floor we were on. If you stood next to the window by the bathroom door, looking sideways you could just see the ocean, but from nowhere else. Bitterly disappointed I went back to reception to explain we’d paid for an ocean view. The clerk said we ‘did’ have an ocean view. After some debate he said he could offer an ‘upgrade’ after 2 nights in the room we had. Day 3 arrives and we were excited to pick up the keys to the ‘upgrade’…which was exactly the same style/size of room as we had, just one floor higher on the 15th floor, but 45 degrees ‘round’ the building so we could see the ocean. Not ‘head on’, but a view none the less. This was not an upgrade, just the room we had paid for in the first place. If you don’t care about the view then this is a good hotel, but I wouldn’t take the risk of choosing the Hyatt for an ocean view if that’s important to you. Läs mer

Overall, the hotel is decent and fine. Its pretty basic. I would not consider it extrondinary. Great view of the ocean. My biggest gripe with the hotel is the fact that the tower that I stayed in had 4 elevators but no more than 2 were ever working (if that many). Almost every day I felt like I was in disney world in line for a ride. Loooong queues. […] At one point, one of the staff took us up on the freight elevator because everyone were waiting so long. Forget, trying to get on to do down in the mornings. The other problem was the waterfall inside the hotel. Lovely and all but it makes the ground into a pool and there isn't a whole lot of room to walk around it. Its a lawsuit waiting to happen. For the price I paid I could have stayed at a Ritz Carlton in many many other holiday destinations. Of course its the location and supply and demand that dictates the price so *shrug*. But if I'm going to spend that much I mind as well stay in a 5 star hotel and pay slightly more and be right on the beach rather than across the street. Not likely to return. Läs mer

I love this hotel because of all the amenities and walking distance to everything you would expect in Waikiki. Love those greeting parrots "Aloha". The hotel needs to add a popular and solid anchor rigth by the strip to draw more people. Perhaps a bar and grill.

The hotel, as typical of Hyatt, is kept extremely clean. It smells and looks clean! Wear is starting to show. However, maintained very well. The only issues that we had in the room was that the bathroom did not have a ceiling fan and no vanity mirror. The lighting was not that great by the sink area either. Minor things, but for some it would suffice. […] Most of the valet staff and the information and assistance at the Expedia tour desk added to a pleasurable stay. It was conveniently located across the street from Waikiki beach, a couple of blocks from the International Marketplace and tons of shops and restaurants. The atrium shops on the 1st and 2nd floor of the hotel also had nice shopping, but a little expensive for the average shopper. Definitely would stay there again if we returned to Waikiki. If you are not one for the hustle and bustle of a "big city" and "touristy" area, this is not the hotel for you. You can manage at the Hyatt without a car if you intend to use the tour desk or just walk around locally. There is a Hertz and Budget car rental located on the 2nd floor of the hotel and an Enterprise just around the corner if you were interested in taking a tour around the island on your own for a day or too. Valet does get a bit pricey, but parking is limited throughout the downtown area and also expensive. There is a lot of traffic in the area and Waikiki in general. Läs mer
