Great location but too many glitches. The TV did not work when we checked in, it took 30 min to repair. The towel heater did not work and was not fixed despite informing maintenance. The checkin clerk failed to register our credit card upon checkin thus we were asked to pay cash to room service staff for the in room breakfast the following morning. […] The doorkey did not work and had to be reprogrammed - every day. Overall always a good experience. Last couple of times check-in/out has been less smooth than usual. Rooms getting slightly dated although this time we had one that was renovated fairly recently (paint and textiles).

But that was because someone left the window open. It was a fantastic experience actually, close to Picadelly and 10 min to Oxford street.

Börjar märkas att det är lite slitet, men läget och servicen är perfekt. Glöm inte ett besök i baren på hotellet, nästan alltid mycket folk och brett drinkutbud.

I had to stay at three different 5-star hotels this time, The May Fair, InterContinental and Hilton Park Lane. The May Fair had the best location to everything, even though the others were only 500 meters further down the street. You have walking distance to Picadilly and Leicester Square, you have good restaurants right across the street, a couple […] of minutes to Bond Street and shopping. The Picadilly Line tube station Green Park is right outside the hotel, it takes about 55 minutes to Heathrow, without having to change trains, which was very good. My room (regular room on 8th floor with no view) was very big for being a London-hotel. The bathroom was enormous with both bath tub and shower and place for two persons. There was a built-in LCD TV by the bath tub (!!) which was cool. If I have to complain about anything there were 2 things: First the internet didnt work, they had two different wireless connections and one with cable, but they couldnt manage to get any of them to work. (The May Fair had free internet, both Hilton and InterContinental charges about 20£ per day) The second thing was the bed, when I first sat down on the bed, it sounded like it broked down. When I looked under the mattress, the wood had released itself from the sides, so it was basically breaking down. It was easily fixed though, but maybe one should require more from a 5-star hotel, I dont know. And if you are a light sleeper, ask for a room that is not right next to the elevators. Läs mer

The location and service at the hotel is great although I would rate the hotel as a 4 star rather than a 5 star hotel. The Restaurant was slightly disappointing. Overall I am happy with the stay at the Mayfair.

Vi hade höga förväntningar. Det bör man ha på ett deluxerum på ett femstjärnigt hotell. Tyvärr blev vi väldigt besvikna då vi anlände till rummet som var litet och ganska enkelt. Inget av det som lyfts fram på siten stämde, bortsett från en tv i badrummet vilket kändes ganska oviktigt för oss. Efter att ha klagat fick vi dock ett rum som var stort […] och fint. Det kändes märkligt att rummen kunde gå under samma klassificering, då det skiljde väldigt i kvalitet. På det hela taget var vi nöjda med hotellet, men det fanns också en hel del att anmärka på. Det fanns t ex ingen dimmer i badrummet vilket var väldigt märkligt. Vi bad personalen ta hand om ett krossat glas en em, men när vi kom hem så låg det kvar och vi fick be dem igen. Inför vår ankomst mailade vi conciergen flera gången och bad om hjälp med helt normala saker (boka bra mat etc), men där fick vi ingen hjälp. Detta var några av de saker som tyvärr drog ned helhetsintrycket. Vi fick ett bra pris via hotels.com och på det hela taget var vi nöjda, men om man förväntar sig högsta klass på faciliteter och service så är det nog stor risk att man blir besviken. Läs mer

3rd time we've stayed at the Mayfair and once again it didn't disappoint. Excellent service, spacious rooms (Deluxe) and cracking location in the heart of Mayfair. Main hotel bar is pretty busy but the bar of the casino (attached to the hotel and free to get into) was much quieter. Very good value for a 5* hotel in the centre of London.

Very good hotel, good location to tube. Staff very helpful. Only downside was we had per booked & paid & when we went to check in found our booking had been cancelled, staff soon sorted this out. Make sure you get a room with street view!

First of all, I have to say that I really hate to leave poor reviews but when a hotel is unresponsive, it is kind of unavoidable. The doorman WROTE our room number IN BALLPOINT PEN on my beautiful designer leather luggage tag. I was horrified to say the least. What kind of person does that? You'd either have to be really clueless/oblivious or not care […] at all - not sure which is worse. I tried to reach out to the hotel but to no avail - auto response said they would get back to me within 48 hours. it's been a week. SECONDLY, when we ordered a margherita pizza before checking out and received a pizza with arugula - no tomatoes. We were in a rush so we were unable order another. While our room was pretty nice, I'm not quite sure I would return again because of my experience. Läs mer

The hotel was pretty pleasant and the room was spacious and comfortable. The choice of scent in the lobby was a bit strange. It was nice to have a fairly late checkout and a real tub to unwind after an overnight redeye flight. The included breakfast was quite enjoyable, as well.

A great experience! The main difference to other 5* hotels in London is the warmth of the service team. We especially enjoyed the ambient Cigar Room, a well kept secret in London! The staff we very welcoming, efficient and friendly. The hotel and room were very clean and stylish with exquisite finishings and furnishings. Finding the hotel from the tube was very easy just around the corner from green park tube station. The location was perfect for our romantic valentines trip. The hotel boasted so many luxury amenities, posh restaurants, […] bars, spa and casino, would have been lovely to go to them all if had more time. The hotel made our trip extra special. We have stayed many times in the Mayfair area but this was our first time at the Mayfair Hotel. It is undoubtedly situated in a great location for the brilliant restaurants and shops, that are only a short walk away. Overall our stay was very enjoyable, despite the pricey drinks in the famous bar - great for people watching but watch out for the service […] charge, when you buy directly at the bar. Our room was a little disappointing - TV in an awkward position,wardrobe in the bathroom and no mirror in the main room, but the decor and cleanliness were fine. The May Fair was exceptional. The people were superbly helpful and pleasant to deal with. The SPA and workout phacilities were super. iBreakfast which was included in the daily charge was also superb. We were simply very satisfied with all aspects of the Hotel

I stay at this hotel often. It is well located near my office and I like the Mayfair neighborhood very much. The rooms are comfortable and I'm happy that wifi is free rather than the outrageous charge that most nice hotels add. I highly recommend this hotel.

I am thoroughly satisfied with the hotel , the room and the quality of the stuff Although not that big an issue and although the food was very good at the Mayfair restaurant, I would have preferred a bigger variety in the menu and the beer selection Lastly even if I don't consider it among the hotels responsibilities towards the guest, for foreigners […] who don't really know London, a warning that the roads towards the hotel after the New Year's Eve celebrations would be closed would have been a thoughtful touch and would save quite a lot of trouble for quest who such as I were trying to return to the hotel. We have stayed in 5 star hotels and this is not one of them. It is a nice hotel in a great location but does not provide 5 star service at all. Actually, there isn't much service at all. At least 3 to 4 times during our 7 night stay we had to ask for extra towels because there weren't enough towels in our rooms. Our daily rate included breakfast and […] afternoon tea. Breakfast buffet was wonderfu, and is well worth the extra money. The afternoon tea was just okay, nothing wonderful to talk about at all. We are American and have stayed in London before at other hotels that provide much better service for less money. Absolutely lovely hotel. Wish we could have stayed longer. Great food and of course we know that since we had afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast . The room was great and had a beautiful bathroom with all you could wish for including robe and slippers. We will be back.

The May Fair Hotel had excellent accomodations, service and location. The room size was good and the bathroom was well appointed with a free standing shower and a bath tub. The location was an easy walk for me to go to Hyde Park/WInter Wonderland, Harrod's, the V&A Museum, Picadilly Circus, etc. The hotel was next to a "staging street" for the New Year's […] Day parade, which was nice to see without having to fight the crowds along the parade route. My room was not noisy on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day. My only suggestion would be to make sure non-smoking rooms are in separate corridors from smoking rooms (or separated as much as possible), because on my last night there was a group of heavy smokers who checked into the room next to mine and the smoking was so bad around midnight that the hotel staff moved me to a different room. I checked dozens of visitor's reviews before my departure, as I had found both extremely positive and negative comments at various web sites. I then decided to make special requests about my room the day before my arrival to avoid possible noise or tired facilities. Luckily enough it worked I believe, and I could check into my room even at 10:00 in […] spite of early arrival, and my room on the 7th floor was spacious enough and free from noises from the street. Judging from my experiences and reviews I checked, I assume that there are still some rooms before refurbishment, which may give very negative impressions to the guests. Very disappointed - for a highly rated hotel that wasn't cheap, I have stayed in far batter and we had a deluxe room. It was clean enough etc but no plugs in bathroom and no mirror in bedroom. TV was very small and far from bed, alram clock was on far side of the room also so you couldn't see it during the night. The only drawback about the hotel is the room temperature, I had to keep the windown open to keep the room temperate not too warm since it was maintained centrally and not from the room itself.
