The hotel was in a good location, just over the river from all the sights. Parking was a challenge. It was across the road in a semi-private underground car-park for which you had to fetch the key and return to reception whenever you wanted to move the car. Sited just across the river from the old town (cathedral, plaza mayor, restaurants, bars, etc). Menu del dia (served in evening as well as lunch time) is excellent value.

The Melia Fernan Gonzalez was the right choice, a five-minute walk to the fabled Cathedral and just a little longer to Plaza Mayor and the lively tapas district. Pretty easy to find and to get back to the highway, in case you are driving. Room was large and nicely decorated, in a traditional Spanish pattern; service was more than attentive, parking […] a bit tight, but that is not uncommon in Europe. All at the right price. My only complain would be the outdated bathroom, because of the clogged draining, not because of its appearance; if you fancy the latest in design you must be prepared to pay accordingly, and anyway who travels to Burgos, or to historic sites for that matter for the sake of enjoying the latest trend in toilets and sinks? The only good thing about this hotel was the convenient location and one friendly and helpful receptionist. The parking is impossible as it is an underground garage at the other end of a very narrow road and needs a key from reception each time you want to use it. The lifts were tiny, too small for two people and their luggage. The room was minute, […] very claustrophobic and smelt musty. The window was in an alcove and looked out on to the wall of another building a few yards away. Mirrors had been used on three of the walls to increase the illusion of space but they did nothing to alter the fact that we had to take turns to move around the room! There was no space for a chair to sit in comfort. The ensuite bathroom was only one metre wide and was obviously a one metre strip cut off the bedroom. It was impossible to reach the toilet paper whilst using the toilet (if you were much taller than my 5'2" you would probably have to sit sideways on the toilet anyway). The door of the bathroom had been nibbled away (mice?) and the particles were still on the floor. Fortunately we had only booked for one night, any more and we would definitely have moved on. All in all, we felt a profound sense of relief when we left and I cannot imagine how this hotel was awarded four stars. Läs mer

We arrived at the hotel and found our room excellent it was clean and comfortable, the staff were very helpful and friendly and it was very central for all the sites of the city.

Buena situacion, aunque necesita actualización. Sobra la moqueta en las habitaciones. Personal de recepcion amabilísimo. Los colchones necesitan un cambio urgente, aunque la recepcionista nos permitió elegir habitación hasta que encontramos colchones que permitieran dormir. Parking muy cerca: 12.96€.

Et dejligt hotel, der ligger i gå afstand fra den gamle bydel - 5 min. fra katedralen. Vi havde et dejligt stort værelse med god plads til at komme omkring. Hotellet kan varmt anbefales.

En general el hotel estaba bien; personal de recepcion agradable, buenisima ubicacion del hotel desde donde puedes asceder a pie al casco historico de Burgos, al lado de la catedral. El hotel esta bien decorado con objetos y documentos historicos bastante interesantes. La habituacion era pequeña, y los servicios que ofrecen no llegan a un 4 estrellas, […] yo lo dejaria en un 3 estrellas. La ubicacion motiva que el aparcamiento sea bastante dificil. Hemos estado en hoteles de 3 estrellas mucho mejores que este que tiene 4. Es muy viejo y la cama, el colchón "superviejo", duro y abombado. Se oye el ascensor una pasada, aunque lo teníamos lejos. El peor hotel de 4 estrellas en el que hemos estado
Hotel antiguo. La ducha no funcionaba. EN recepción no nos dieron facilidades para cambiar de habitación. Además, a pesar de solicitar cama de matrimonio con antelación, no nos la proporcionaron. De las 4 estrellas, se deberían caer al menos 2.

La verdad, es que el hotel nos sorprendio negativamente por los siguientes motivos: - La decoración, mobiliario, etc de la habitación era anticuada. - Algunas partes del hotel estaban sin terminar, creemos que eran reformas. - El sistema del aire acondicionado hacia un ruido insoportable, que no nos permitio descansar. - La habitación tenia unas vistas […] a un patio interior horroroso. Llegamos al hotel sobre las 11h y nos dieron habitación rapidamente pero las habitaciones eran interiores y muy pequeñas. Despues de exponer nuestras razones nos dieron otras habitaciones mas espaciosas excusandose de que llegamos tan temprano que todavia no estaban disponibles otras habitaciones mas "bonitas". Suerte que lo resolvieron, pero nos lo […] podian haber dicho antes de instalarnos. El hotel en si esta muy cerca del centro. Las habitaciones son decentes pero un poco anticuadas y bastante oscuras. Hotel muy céntrico y tranquilo; personal muy amable. Decoración exquisita en las estancias comunes. Las habitaciones cómodas (sin destacar) y un fantástico restaurante. Lo utilizo con frecuencia y no voy a cambiar tan fácilmente. Relación calidad/precio, excelente.

El hotel está muy bien situado para acceder a pie a las principales atracciones turísticas de la ciudad como la Catedral y el nuevo Museo de la Evolución Humana. Si se va con coche es muy dificil aparcar, en la calle es zona regulada con parquímetro, y el hotel no siempre dispone de plazas suficientes en su garaje. El personal del hotel que yo traté, […] recepcionista y camarera del restaurante fueron muy amables y eficientes. La cena en el restaurante fué magnífica y a un precio muy razonable. Vårt valg av hotell var knyttet til beliggenhet til gamlebyen. Burgos er en svært hyggelig by, og det samme er hotellet. Til tross for sentral beliggenhet var det kke for myue trafikkstøy. (Vi bodde fra lørdag til søndag)

Meine Meinung! Im Restaurant gibt es am Abend ein super Menü inkl. Wein und Softgetränk für (Juni 2010) €13 für Hausgäste. Hotel liegt nur einige Meter vom Dom. Zimmer: klein, aber dank einer Spiegelwand fällt das kaum auf. Einrichtung: geschmackvoll. Bad: sehr schön und groß. Klimaanlage: könnte stärker sein. Fazit: Ein Hotel zum Wohlfühlen. Was mir […] nicht so gefiel war das Parkhaus (schräg gegenüber). Den Schlüssel muß man sich erst an der Rezption holen. Anfahrt ist, dank Einbahnstraße, sehr schwer zu finden und parken dort (20€ im Juni 2010) nur etwas für Könner. Ausfahrt ist noch schwieriger. Beim nächsten Besuch (bestimmt) suche ich mir ein öffentl. Parkhaus auch wenn man dann etwas laufen muss. Läs mer
