Great place to stay and near the Munich Station (10 min walk) We (family of 4) stay in arthotel twice and each time in the family room that is clean and spacious. 20 walk to the main Main Platz where all the main activities are. Staffs are friendly and helpful.

Arthotel is a 5 minute walk from the Munich Main train station and has easy connections to the sights by walking, S- U-bahn and trams. The room I stayed is small but comfortable and has amenities like a minibar and safe. Free wireless internet available in the room. The elevator service is barely adequate, otherwise there are no other complaints. The staff is friendly and the included buffet is very good with lots of food choice to meet all needs. Just a short walk from the Bahnhof railway station which was very convenient. The staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke very good English. The room was clean and spacious with a newly fitted wetroom shower. Tea & coffee facilities in the room would have been nice though.

The hotel is conveniently located near the bahnhof. Clean and spacious rooms. The bathroom was large. Decent closet space. Breakfast spread was wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay here.

I found ARTHOTEL an excellent choice for my stay in Munich. It is a short walk from the main train station (and easy to find) and a reasonable walk to the main shopping and tourist attractions in old Munich. The city's public transportation system is easy to use, so being close to access to many of these options makes it "close" to all of Munich's sights. […] The breakfast offers a wide selection of fresh breads & toppings (Nutella, cream cheese, butter, jams), meats & cheeses, beverages, as well as eggs and sausage. I have stayed here before, and I cannot fault the place. Great location, friendly and helpful staff, and super clean. Breakfast was great, although crowded (must have been the school holidays). My room was very small, but this is typical of Europe.

Excellent staff extremely friendy. Breakfast excellent rooms clean etc.. Very close to transport and city centre. I would recommend this hotel highly to any persons seeking accommodation. We stayed in triple room and found it excellent.

This is a really good place to stay when in Munich. It is so close to the central station. The breakfast is super! The road is really noisy and they have no airco, so I would not stay here during the summer.

This hotel was convenient for the Oktoberfest location, however, the rooms were ok, bathrooms were less than satisfactory--bath towels were so old & disgusting! I realize it is loud during the fest celebration, but our main lobby & hallways shouldn't be a loud party zone as they were at times. The front desk people were not friendly either. I stayed at the Arthotel Munich while attending Oktoberfest this year. The location is quite convenient if you are arriving by train, or take the train from the airport... only about a 10 minute walk to the hotel. Also the Oktoberfest grounds are an easy walk from the hotel, which is nice if you've had too much to drink. Breakfast buffet was included […] and was very good -- fresh and tasty with lots of variety. It's a little bit of a walk to the historical districts in Munich, if that's your primary interest, but you can always take the metro from the nearby train station. During our three night stay, we enjoyed the comfort of the beds and convenience of the hotel to the train station. But, when we were there it was unusually hot and had to sleep with the window open and fan blowing into the room. The street was noisy, but it eventually became white noise and we slept fine.

This hotel is an excellent location for those attending Octoberfest. Near train station and faregrounds. It was very pricey because it was Octoberfest. There are no rugs or carpet so it can be very noisy. Breakfast was good and free internet service. Staff was very pleasant and helpful.

The hotel is an old school or office building, some of those "architecture crimes" built for function, not for beauty in the 60s. Moxst of those buildings are detonated today which is justified. The Hotel people surely have made the absolute best out of such a building if it is decided to let it stand. It is right in the middle of the city, 150 m (450 […] ft) from the main station. If guests arrive by car the hotel has a deal with the municipal parking garages where cars can be left on reduced flat rates (the own garage seems to be too small). In Munich that fact alone is a miracle. The rooms are newly renovated and very clean (not highly luxurious and don't forget a microscope for the 12'' monitor of the TV-set. A combination of value, location and (Miracle Nr.2) incredible friendlieness of the staff, throughout atypical for the country of Bavaria, many families with children or students take the place as location. Breakfast therefore is school catering style and noise level. The kids surely will have many friends within minutes and the "Elderly" can consider to explore Munich one time by themselves. The place is worth a visit for the empoyees alone, whichs friendlieness and helpfulness is unseen in Bavaria anywhere else, even at places 100 times more "precious" which means expensive.. I liked it and if I will go to Munich next time I'll take it again. One urgent advice: Leaving the parking garage burn into your mind EXACTLY the place where you left the car, the entrance and exit of the garage, how you came there and the exact itinerary you returned. You won't find the entrance of the garage otherwise, even it just 2 blocks away. Those garages were obviously bult by specialists for camouflage. After leaviing my car I met some people after hours having found the entrance of the garage and I was warned and took the warning serious: next time I take it triple serious. The hotel was reasonable for its priceclass, the room I was in was right next to the elevator though, so it was very loud and there were a lot of strange drilling noises going on throug the night, and generally it sounded like the neighbours were about to stomp right in to the room. I stayed in Arthotels before but in other cities and have to admit this one didn't meet my expectations. First I wasn't greated in any way. The receptionist who checked me in didn't speak english so the information provided was limited. I had to ask about breakfast and one of her colleagues responded. The bedroom was one of the smallest I've ever seen […] with a single bed set against a wall. The bed and pillow were so soft it was hard to get a comfortable sleep. My partner tried to make contact with me in the evening but after spelling my name few times and very slowly, was told I wasn't staying in this hotel! Breakfast had very very limited choice of cereals (two choices presented in very small bowls + a bowl of mixed nuts! Forget about the orange juice and any other juices...the worst selection and totally undrinkable. Check-out was again a non-engaging experience, although I managed to get a smile from one of the receptionists. Apart for the location which is perfect if you have to take a train from the main station, there is no reason for me to stay in this hotel again. I thought the hotel was top notch. Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a German buffet, but it was nice. The walk from the train station was about 8 minutes. I'd stay here again for sure.

If you have a train to catch this Hotel is perfect. Reasonably priced, good service, clean and quiet. Yet it is literally a short walk to the Bahnhof and any connections you need to make from there. Great breakfast buffet included My only suggested improvement - I like the option of Tea/Coffee in the room - there was only a mini-bar

The hotel is a little offputting when seen from the outside but once inside, the impression changed. The lobby contains a nice little bar with friendly bartenders and a separate sitting area with free WiFi access. The rooms are typically sized for Europe but we had no shortage of space (3 women in one room), the blow dryer worked, we had ample mirrors […] and a nice little refrigerator. The breakfast buffet was a pleasant surprise -- plenty of selection and tasty food. The location is perfect for getting around the city and is not that far from the Marienplatz. There are plenty of restaurants in the area serving very good food and the train station is literally down and across the street. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Munich. Läs mer

ArtHotel is located minutes away from the central station which is probably its main advantage. I think its good value for money. The rooms, service and breakfast are good but nothing exceptional.

Everything about the hotel was just as it was presented. We could not have asked for more! It was a GREAT Value, the staff were very helpful and the food was very good. It was located near everything we planned to do. ( the train station, musems, parks, and the city tour buss stop.)

A clean and comfortable not frills hotel. The rooms are spacious and a good breakfast and free wireless internet included. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to the central station and all public transport. It's not the most attractive neighbourhood, but close enough to the main attractions for this not to be a problem

I did not think to check ahead of time, but NO AIR CONDITIONING! Hotel was clean and only 2 blocks from the train station. Breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful.

The Art Hotel is a fabulous bargain! The staff is friendly, young and informative. The hotel itself is clean, rooms are very spacious, free internet access in the lobby, great breakfast buffet. Very trendy decor but fun and lively. The location can't be better. We walked about 5-8 minutes from the main Munich train station so no cab fare needed. The […] neighborhood is not bad- if I was a single woman I may take more caution at night but this would be true of any large city. We simply walked out our door and took two turns and were a 15 minute walk from the Marienplatz, Glockenspeil, Hofbrauhaus, market etc with lots to look at/shop on the way so this was also no problem. This hotel was very modern and a lot of fun to stay in. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and the hotel is uniquely decorated with bright artwork throughout. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and this hotel is perfect location to get to the train station without cabs. There is a little bit of a run-down neighbourhood a few streets away […] but as long as you stay close to main streets it is not a safety concern. The breakfast included is very good with a variety of cold meats, buns, juices, fruit, and boiled eggs. Overall i had a positive experience at Arthotel and recommend it. Läs mer

Yes, the single room was small - quite small, but it was clean, convenient, and cheap! The staff was friendly and helpful (especially in providing an iron an ironing board on a moment's notice). While this isn't an upscale neighborhood, it's central location made it ideal for exploring Munich and surrounding areas using public transportation. I know as Americans we are spoiled, but to not even have the option of air conditioning was unbelievable. The first couple of days were extremely warm. We had to leave the windows open at night, which resulted in very noisy sleeping conditions. (And no screens in the windows!) Thank goodness the weather was cooler towards the end of our stay! I chose this hotel for it's close location to Hauptbahnhof. My room was much larger than I expected, with 2 twin beds, a couch and work desk. My room faced an interior courtyard and was very quiet, even with the window open. The room was well maintained and clean. The overall design of the hotel is very interesting with it's variety of art on display. The […] breakfast buffet was included in my room rate and offered a large selection is a bright airy room. Service good and hotel was clean. Only bad think was that we had to release room 11 o'clock, not 12 o'clock as in "normal" hotels !

Loved our stay at ArtHotel. The room was fine - the bed was very comfortable, large shower. The buffet breakfast is huge, and has long hours to suit all needs. The man at reception gave us the perfect restaurant recommendation! We'd definitely come back to stay at ArtHotel.

Very friendly staff. Rooms were simple and clean. Breakfast was good in the morning as well. Easy walk to the center of Munich. All in all a very enjoyable stay.
