The service was excellent. I liked all those from Bell hops to the concierge. The hotel is located in a perfect spot to get to the bus loading and the finish line for the Boston Marathon. The room was small and not in great shape. The TV looked like it was from 80's. My family and I were out for the marathon. The check in, room service, grand lobby, and our expansive room were all terrific. Because of the horrific bombing events that took place at the nearby marathon finish line the hotel security was on added alert and was checking ID and room keys for anyone entering the hotel. When I reserved my hotel, I was told I could get a late check out as I was running the Boston Marathon. They denied my late check out the day I checked in. I think the hotel is wonderful, but this was not something I expected. I ran the marathon and came back to get our bags and in lieu of all the chaos, I got kicked out of hotel. This hotel must have been one of the best in Boston ten years ago, but it needs a bit of a face-lift. For the price I expected something that felt a little less tired.

This was the 6th time staying in Boston within the last year and our first experience at the Taj. The accommodations and location are the BEST! Comfy beds, spacious room and bathroom, helpful and friendly staff. The only complaint would be that the flatscreen TV is too small for the size of the room and distance from the beds.

This was our third stay at the Taj and it was just as wonderful as our past visits. The hotel is styled in 'old world' luxury and the entire staff does its best to provide the services a guest would expect in such an environment without being condescending. The staff is friendly and accomodating. We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Taj Boston. I was surprised that a hotel of this caliber needs to charge almost $11 for WIFI service.

We had a wonderful brief getaway at the Taj. The room was beautiful and comfortable and the location was right next to the park which we had a view of from our room. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would recommend this hotel to friends.

Our stay at the Taj Boston was great! The rooms were clean and comfortable. The bathroom was updated and beautiful! All employees were very helpful and accommodating! The location was perfect and in walking distance to everything! My only complaint (and it's a small one!) is the pillows....they were a little too soft--no support. I recently stayed in room 418. Upon check in I was told that I got a free upgrade to a room with a city view. I thought the upgrade was pretty nice, the staff were friendly. The room was not visibly bad. For each of the three nights I stayed I was promptly awoken at 6am by extremely loud dance music accompanied by a loud voice tha apparently was directing […] some sort of aerobics class next door to the hotel. Each morning was the same. Mind you I already was exhausted from 3 hours worth of jet lag. During checkout, when asked how the room was i did not hesitate to tell the lady that it was terrible. She im mediately said: "was it loud?", to which I replied: "yes". She then asked if I had a corner room as if she knew the room was loud from past complaints. She apologized and said that since i had already paid for the room there was nothing that could be done. She did notice that i had one room service bill, she said she would take care of it... it was 17 dollars. I was not impressed. I will not be staying at a Taj again. Läs mer

So civilized and not the least bit snooty! Comfortable, spacious room with amenities and service you would expect from a historic, luxury property, and at a super rate via Hotels.com. Easy to get anywhere on foot or by train. Friendly, helpful staff.

The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. I was switched to a room overlooking the Public Garden when the lady at the front desk saw that it was my birthday. My family and I stayed two nights at the Taj with our one and a half year old and we have no complaints. Friendly, prompt service, very clean, comfortable room and bed, and the hotel is located in a very convenient neighborhood. We requested a microwave in our room to accommodate our toddler with multiple food allergies and it was not in our room when […] we arrived. I called housekeeping and there was a considerable wait before it was delivered, but this was the only snag in our stay. We will be back to the Taj when we visit Boston again! Läs mer

We spent two nights in The Taj and were pleasantly pleased by the size of the room and cleanliness. It was the little details that impressed me most: complimentary water on my nightstand, oversized bath towels, slippers at the foot of the bed and a newspaper each morning. Stayed at the Taj and had a lovely nightime walk through the snow covered Common. ..... Nice loation for shopping, the Common and service was excellent. Room was a nice size, bed was super comfortable. We will be back again.

We come to Boston frequently, but this is first time we've stayed at the Taj. Overall great experience. It's very traditional, but that includes close attention to details, both in terms of taste and service. My fiance and I decided to stay here for 2 nights for our 5 year anniversary. I had high hopes since it is supposed to be one of the best hotels in Boston. I love the historic charm of this hotel - it is definitely not a fun, modern place to stay but it's classic. Our room was fine but certainly nothing special. Granted, we weren't staying in a ridiculously […] expensive suite but this stay-cation was still a bit of a splurge for us. We were just expecting a lot more. Although the decor was very old-school (which I like) the stains on the carpet (which looked like urine that had been cleaned one too many times) should be replaced when it is in that bad of shape. The view was horrible (facing a back alley) and the bathroom and shower were small. You have to pay for wireless internet and they don't even offer you a complimentary water bottle! I travel a lot for work and these things are almost always included even in low end hotels. I just expected them to be more accommodating. On the plus side, the bed, robes, and slippers were comfy. The staff was friendly (almost too friendly - they are definitely working for their tips) but many have very thick accents and they are hard to understand at times. We had brunch in the morning and the food was good but nothing mind-blowing. Overall, I wanted to enjoy my stay more. Next anniversary, we will be staying at a boutique hotel. Läs mer

The service was great, with the exception of the hotel bar. We were served our drinks and never saw the server again. The front desk was very responsive. The bathroom door would not stay shut. There ws construction on a building across the street that started at 7 am. Even with everything mentioned I will definately stay again at the Taj

This is a really great hotel in a tremendous location if you're using cabs. If you have a car, forget it. The valets are great guys but it takes 20 mins to get a car because they need to park so far away.
