"Okay, but not great"
I made this reservation without staying here before. The hotel was definitely an older one. The room was dated, but clean. The lamp shades were so old, they had cracks in them and were falling apart. I went cheap on a last-minute booking for a business meeting when the mid-range local hotels were full and I got what I paid for. I don't mean for that to be a negative comment. The hotel was located in a nice area, close to a lot of shops and just a short drive to the beach. The hotel was nothing fancy, but it was worth the price i paid for it. The staff was pretty helpful, and the rooms were a decent size. Would i stay at this hotel again? Room was good and the beds were comfortable. I did not like the tile floors. Had to wear socks or shoes when walking around room. Ice machines did not work and office had no ice on hand. "Get your towels at the front desk when checking in"
When we arrived the lady at the front desk was vry nice and helpful. When we got into the room it was fair. There were on towels, and when I walked up to the young lady who was cleaning the rooms and ask her for towels, she said " yo have to get towels at the front desk " And I replied "Really" and she said "yep". So I went to the front desk and asked […] the lady in charge " If I needed to get my towels at the front desk why didn't you let me know when I checked in". She replied that there should be towels in yoru room. Then she gave me 2 of each and we have 3 in our party. Disappointed in the service. And the room was not at all like the picture shows on line. "I'd come back again"
The hotel is small without view of the beach, but that kept the cost down. The room was very clean and smelled fresh. The bed and bath linens were clean but old and warn. The front desk was happy to provide extra towels on request. The toilet seat was clearly new and small and round and not fitting on the toilet in the least, it didn't effect the ability […] to use it but was noticed. The tub in room 113 however cracked, or was already cracked during the first use. It was useable for showers but goes to show the age of the hotel. Overall our room was perfect for what we wanted, a place to leave our stuff and sleep. The rooms with a single king sized bed are large with a sleeper couch, tables, fridge and microwave which were a handy convenience that we appreciated. The stay was great super cheap and the staff was great. Every single person we met. Stayed here for 3 consecutive days. The hotel isnt that nice but we dont spend our day in a hotel, if we wanted to stay within 4 walls we would have stayed at home. We have stayed there same location several times. But thought we would have a better time. But no the mattress at this hotel are so worn out , need to be replace ASAP. Both my husband I ended with back aches. We ended up sleeping on the floor. Seems like sleeping on a water Bed which is filled up only half way. We usually stay at the La Quinta on South Padre Island for the October BikeFest. This year I found a MUCH better deal on a room through Expedia at the Days Inn. My wife and I were very pleased with our choice and stay. For the money you can't beat the deal. We liked the fact that the rooms had tile floors instead of carpet. The beds are very comfy.
