Föskotts-betalningen hade inte registrerats. Inga nycklar till rummet. Dåligt rum, smutsigt, nära hissen. Fick byta till ett mycket bättre, nycklarna spärrade varje dag. Ingen info om frukostbiljetter, betalade 15 pund isf 9.90. Personalen verkade oerfaren. Michell i receptionen ordnade det mesta i efterhand. Fin SPA-anläggning.

Rent o snyggt hotel med mycket trevlig personal och bra restaurant. Simhall, bubbelpool och träning rent o snyggt med bra service. Kan varmt rekomenderas.

Stay here and you will be surprised by the additional undisclosed charges. £7 for overnight parking (which was disclosed to me on the way out). £5 for 1 hour internet which I decided wasn't worth it (went to the nearby shopping center where it is free). Breakfast was average and service was average

Have not been there for around 2 years but was impressed by the staff and the up keep of the hotel. Only had a sandwich for lunch and a light breakfast but all food was good. Unfortunately we didn't have time for the pool which previously was good, the only drawback is that you have to go outside to get there. Drinks at the bar were expensive and the […] bar is nothing to write home about and no guests seem to use it. Hence the charges I guess. But the difference in charge of £3.20 in the local casino and £6.40 for a Brandy single tot and Coke and £4 for a pint of lager is excessive especially with no atmosphere except for a TV. You also have to pay a parking charge which always amuse me as it is their own car park, no valet and could easily be included in the charge that wouldn't make it obvious. Hotel was very close to cruise ship, but front desk insisted a taxi was necesaary, not even a five minute walk! Upon check-in, clerk said no rooms available yet, please be seated. Almost two hours later after many people came in after me and got rooms...i approached the desk again and asked how long. The clerk said oh ok, i have rooms now. I think the hotel, though adequate, was in need of some modernisation as it just had that dated and somewhat jaded appearance. On a positive note, the views of the harbour and ferry terminal from upper floors are quite good. Close to the heart of old Southampton.

This was a comfortable, very clean hotel. There was a swimming pool and fitness centre on the hotel campus which was free to residents and very welcome. The staff were helpful although this was a busy hotel so they did not have a lot of time to spend with each guest. Generally this proved excellent value for money. Thanks to all the staff.

The toilet didn't flush properly and the sink taps were strange. Aside from the plumbing problems the room was very nice and the staff very helpful.

Unfortunately we were disturbed by quite a lot of corridor and room noise in the night. This affected our sleep and our general sense of satisfaction about the stay. Otherwise we were happy with the facilitities, the location was perfect for exploring the city.

The Hotel is in a great location opposite the main shopping centre and facing a cruise liner jetty. The swimming pool and health club facilities are good and have long opening hours. The restaurant service was terrible! We ordered a starter platter and then chose our main meals to complement this but when it arrived they had run out of two of the items […] in the platter and given us extra of one of the other items. Had we been told when ordering that the items were not available we would have ordered a different starter and mains. The staff member that took our order came over to check everything was ok and when we complained that the meal was missing two key items she just said 'I knew we didn't have one of them', no apology for not informing us of this when ordering. Subsequently my main course was not enjoyable #too spicy# due to the missing items in the starter, and my partners meal was too sweet #ribs# so we swapped plates and ate meals that we didn't really enjoy as they were not what we had ordered. We didn't bother with dessert as we didn't know what might have gone wrong with that. Later in the bar a group of drunks came in and the staff in reception seemed unable to get rid of them, even when one of them started to walk around the bar area and shouting so we had to leave the bar earlier than we had wanted due to this. My only irritation was that the bar automatically charged 10% service charge for bar food despite the fact that we ordered from the bar and received little service. However, I asked for this to be removed and there was no issue with doing so.

The hotel was as expected,as we have stayed several times before. Very good value, and the food was good. Staff very friendly and welcoming. The pool was very good and clean as usual. The only downside was the Boat Show was using the hotel car park and that meant a long walk from car to front of hotel. As I am disabled it was a painful experience. Very nice ,clean large rooms, had a comfy night,quiet & relaxing. Could do with better quality tea & milk in room though, it taste awful, couldn't drink it & more then two sachets of sugar would be nice. Apart from this everything else was very good.I have already rebooked for another stay in a couple of weeks.

Unable to get a signal on my Mobileon arrival, I checked with reception re telephone rates. Having been told the rates were BT landline rates I called home. I was unhappy to say the least to recieve a bill for >£6 for a 10 min call. Pleasant stay. 10min walk from the Isle of Wight ferry. 15min walk to West Quay shopping centre. Hotel was very clean. Staff very helpful. Use of swimming pool and sauna was extra bonus. Only gripe was the stairs. Looked like they were only there for use as a fire exit (not worth complaining about though). Lots of free parking for residence. The hotel was convenient to the train station when we arrived from London. There is great shopping less than 10 minutes walk from the hotel and the Cruise ship terminal is a short walk or taxi ride from the hotel. I recommend it for families and for business.

Wir verbrachten zwei Nächte im Holiday Inn Southampton im Zuge unserer Rundreise und nutzten das Hotel als Ausgangsort. Die Lage ist sehr gut, nahe am Autobahnzubringer und nur ein kurzer Fußmarsch ins Stadtzentrum bzw. ins nahegelegene Shopping Center. Es gibt auch Pool & Sauna, im gegenüber gelegenen Fitness-Center. Dafür muss man zwar den Hotelparkplatz […] überqueren, das ist aber gar kein Problem. Ds Zimmer war sehr sauber & gemütlich. Buchen Sie ein Zimmer mit Blick Richtung Altstadt / Hafen, dann können Sie der HM Queen Elizabeth vom Fenster aus beim An- und Ablegen zusehen. Wir hatten auch einmal Frühstück im Hotel - sehr empfehlenswert. Es gibt eine breite Auswahl an typisch britischen Frühstücksspeisen (Bohnen, Kartoffelfritter, Speck, Eierspeise, Pfannkuchen uvm.) aber auch kontinentale Speisen: Brot, Baguette, Croissants & kleine Pain au Chocolats, Schinken, Käse, verschiedene Müslis, Joghurt + Milch - auf Anfrage sogar Sojamilch, sehr viele frische Früchte + Kompotte - was das Herz begehrt :) Läs mer

Godt synlig hotell med flotte utsiktsrom, bare så synd selve utsikten fra hotellet ikke er noe å skryte av. Man får enten utsikt mot et lyskryss eller havna med parkeringsplasser. Det tar heldigvis ikke mer enn ti minutter å komme seg inn til sentrum av Southampton. God service og gode parkeringsmuligheter ved hotellet. OK beliggenhet, gådistanse til det meste. Relativt kjedellig hotelmaskin, med lav grad av service fra de vi traff. Positivt med tilgang til treningsstudio og svømmebasseng om man ønsker dette, men obs - grusomt skittent i hele basseng- og treningsområdet. Velger selv ikke dette hotellet ved neste besøk.

Polite, but poorly trained and overworked staff. Ask a question at reception and it's normally met with a blank & dazed response. As a result the guest can spend as I did much time simply waiting for the staff rather than being waited on. A long wait for check out, not fun with a train & flight to catch!!! A long wait for a breakfast table each morning […] and the breakfast wasn't even that good. The room was clearly old and well "used". They have tried to cover the cracks with some paint, but it's not difficult to see that this is no modern 4 star hotel. The place clearly needs investment. Visit a 60's/70's built hotel in Germany for example & there is a world of difference. What really annoyed me was the simple things. They have the obligatory kettle/cups etc for tea/coffee in the room, but they don't provide a glass so you can't take a glass of water to bed for example. I'd classify this as a large B&B with pretentions of being a hotel. After having visiting hotels the world over, I have come to the conclusion that the English are almost incapable of knocking out a decent, modern, provincial hotel. Läs mer
