Hotell Novotel Athenes - Aten

Mycket fint hotell med trevlig personal. Fin takterrass med pool och utsikt över Akropolis. Området runt omkring hotellet var mindre trevligt. Dock var det nära till Metron. Metron var för övrigt ett smidigt och snabbt sätt att ta sig runt. Det tog mindre än 10 minuter att ta sig in till centrum. Större mataffär i närheten.

We hade 4 very nice days in Athen at Novotel. The room was perfect for our family of 4. Staff very friendly and serviceminded. The breakfastbuffé was really great. On the roof there was a very nice poolarea with great view towards Akropolis. 5 minutes walk to the Metro -Larissa Station quickly took you to the areas you wanted to see as a tourist. Endast balkonger till rum för rökare. Stämmer inte med beskrivningen hos Hotels.com, där det står att rummen har balkong. Lyckades dock byta, men fick då ett rum för rökare. Inte roligt område att vistas i på kvällen för ensam tjej. Ca 7 min till Larissa metrostation, absolut överkomligt. Området gjorde att flera måltider intogs på hotellet och det […] var mycket dyrt. Nice hotell, with a great vue and a poolarea on the roof (the few sunbeds always occupied though). The surprising thing is the location pof the hotell as the neighbourhood is a nightmare - drugaddicts, prostitutes and homeless people on the streats which makes it impossible to walk around in the area.

Ett helt underbart hotel med ljuvlig pool på taket, där utsikten var magnifik. Gratis wifi överallt och fantastisk frukost. Området runt hotellet sades vara lite si o så men vi promenerade där och märkte inget mystiskt

Novotel Athenes är ett trevligt hotell med bra service och kvalitet för ett bra pris. Vi stannade där 2 nätter och upplevde inga problem öht. Poolen är öppen från morgonen till klockan 7 på kvällen. Väldigt fin utsikt på taket där man kan äta middag efter 22:00. Bra roomservice som dagligen kom och knackade på dörren. Även om vi glömde att sätta upp […] en do not disturb skylt knackade de enbart på och återkom senare om man inte ville ha sitt rum städat. Frukosten är dyr men väldigt varierande med mycket att välja på. Extrabädden är inte den bästa men går helt klart att sova på. De två sängarna i ett enkelrum är väldigt sköna. Läs mer

Vår familj bodde där i två nätter (2 vuxna och 2 barn) i ett familjerum. Mycket bra rum och hotell - mycket valuta för pengarna. Som det lilla extra fanns ju poolen på taken med utsikt över Aten. Väldigt fint att sitta där vid poolen och restaurangen och se ut över Aten och ett upplyst Akropolis på kvällen. Gratis Wifi var också ett plus. Lite tråkigt […] område dock, men promenadavstånd till Metro (Larissa station som var närmast, 7 min promenad) för att där lätt ta sig vidare till olika sevärdheter. Läs mer

Vi bodde 2 vuxna och 2 barn i ett rymligt rum med två sovrum, ett med dubbelsäng och ett med 2 bäddfåtöljer. Platt-TV i båda rummen. Mycket bra och rymligt rum. 4 vuxna skulle kunna dela detta rum. Hotellet har pool på taket. I lobbyn finns två datorer (Mac) där man kan surfa gratis 20 min åt gången. Även trådlöst nätverk Wifi finns för den som har […] egen dator eller smart-phone. Tyvärr täcker inte wifinätet rummen, bara lobbyn. Rumspriset var lågt med tanke på standarden på rum och hotell. Det enda negativa är hotellets läge. Tråkiga kvarter runtomkring och lite långt att gå till Metro-station Omonia. Läs mer

Reste hit med blandade förväntningar. De recensioner vi tagit del av gav en bild av ett OK hotell i en bedrövlig omgivning. Vår upplevelse är att hotellet var av god standard, väl i klass med övriga Novotel hotell vi bott på. Området runt hotellet var bättre än vi väntat. Vi promenerade till Plaka och Syntagmatorget kvällstid utan att vi kände oss otrygga […] på något vis. Det som främst gör att vi gärna kommer tillbaka är den fantastiska takterassen. Att tillbringa de varmaste timmarna under eftermiddagen vid poolen här uppe, för att sedan se solen gå ner över Aten sittande vid baren på taket var en upplevelse. Läs mer

Hotellet håller en hög standard, dock ligger den i Atens mer slitna kvarter. Hotellet har en välskött pool och restaurang på taket med en fin utsikt över bl a Acropolis. Frukosten är bra men ganska dyr om den inte är inkluderad i rumspriset.

A very nice hotel in a not so nice area. The pool on the roof was fantastic, although the prices were high. We stayed at the hotell all evening, because we didn´t like the neighborhood, we saw lots of drug addicts when we went to the hotell from the subway.

Poor location in rundown area really lets this fantastic hotel down. But it is just 10 minutes walk from Larissa Metro, and 10 minutes walk from the National Archaeological Museum. The area to avoid from the hotel is the walk down to Omonio Metro, which is frequented by prostitutes and drug addicts. We as a family did actually make this walk at 11 AM […] on Christmas Morning and whilst we didn't see any drug addicts, we did see evidence of their being there, and unfortunately the prostitutes were already out on the streets. Whilst we did not feel threatened at all, it was not a comfortable experience for my wife and children. Either take a taxi, (approximately 5 Euro) from the hotel or walk down to Larisssa Metro if you want to travel around the city, the walk down to Larissa is no problem at all. The hotel is fantastic, clean, modern, and with good facilities, and the breakfast is worth including in your room. We found the hotel rather warm as they had switched off the AC for the winter, but the staff went out of their way to find us a cooler room, ending up with us being upgraded to a suite (we were there for 12 days!). We cannot praise the staff enough, from the reception, through chamber maids, restaurants staff, they all go the extra mile to provide a fantastically welcoming and comfortable stay. Läs mer

This is a great, comfortable, modern choice in Athens. It is a little out of the way and the surrounding area is a little sketchy but the hotel, the rooftop pool and the view are priceless. There is actually nothing really wrong with this hotel (a few minor bits of repair work would be nice, touch-ups really) and the majority of the staff were pleasant and helpful. However, food and drinks were very expensive and this was exacerbated by the fact that it was not easy or cheap to get to a better part fo the city to eat and drink - there […] was nowhere nearby and I would not have felt safe walking out in the area at night unless in a group of people. Further to above the hotel is situated in a horrible area that felt extremely unsafe, especially at night, and even though the hotel itself was pleasant enough I woud not stay there again. To confirm my thoughts, on the 2 nights we did go out by taxi, on both occasions, the taxi drivers put up the windows and locked the doors in the immediate vicinity of the hotel (from a couple of streets away) telling us that it was a very bad area. However, once in the hotel, you would not know you were in such an awful area apart from looking out of your hotel window. We ate at the hotel a couple of times (evening and daytime) and the food was good but as I said earlier (especially the feeling of being confined due to the area) it was far too expensive. Läs mer

Hotel was very easy to get to and offered free parking in a garage which was nice. We only stayed one night at this hotel and for this limited time the hotel was fone. Very clean, decent location (close to subway which could get you anywhere you wanted to go). THe only minus was the outrages prices at the pool bar.

great hotel close to all the main sites the hotel has bar and swimming pool on the top floor that you can see a 360 view of the city the rooms are clean and nice and have a out side sitting area with each room and are very roomy

I enjoyed the hotel! Very nice, very clean, and close to the metro. Delicious Food! Great pool (the lounge chairs fill up quickly in the afternoon). The only problem I had was with the neighborhood. It was very run down and desolate... mostly because of the crisis. I was told by a local that a couple years back the area was filled with nice hotels and […] shops, which are all closed now. The hotel location was not in the "nicest" neighborhood, nevertheless,the hotel was one of the nicest, cleanest, and largest rooms in European cities I've been to. Hotel was in close proximity of two metro stations and the staff of airport was very helpful in giving us directions to get to hotel by metro, where to change and get out. The facilities are all there for this to be a great hotel but something was lacking. We arrived late and checked into our room which was a smoking room and we had requested non smoking. It smelt to bad so we asked to change rooms which was fine. In the next room there was no remote for the tv and it could not be operated by the buttons on the tv itself. […] Shower was barely a dribble. However the pool area on the roof was great but after having our dinner (in the hotel which was very good) we wanted to go up to the pool area to see the acropolis lit up at night but it was locked which was dissapointing. The free internet stations in the lobby were very useful. Staff were ok not that outgoing but answered all our questions well enough. No problem with hotel itself but the location is very serious and dangerous area. We were assualted and suffered serious injuries. We had to cut short our holiday and go back home. It is a great hotel in a wrong area. Staff are great and helpful and they will do their best to make you feel home and comfortable.

Overall it is a very nice hotel. The staff are helpful. The roof bar was amazing, just a shame that it does not open until June. Nonetheless we were allowed to use it and bring our own drinks. I was disapointed with the storage space in the room. If you are planning on staying for longer than a couple of nights and like to carry a full suitcase you […] will have difficulties storing your clothes. The breakfast was really good so it is worth paying a little bit extra for it. The area is ok, I had read a lot of comments from people saying how bad it was so I was a bit sceptic, however having been there I now totally disagree with those comments. It might not be the best area in Athens but we walked from the underground station to the hotel every night and I never felt unsafe. As a frequent traveller I was very disappointed with the poor standard of the room at Novotel, Athens. It was not even close to a 3 star rating. Overall the room was run down and after having reqested a non smoking room, specially as I was on holiday with my family, I was given a very offensive smelling "smokers room". TV was faulty. Minifridge did […] not work. carpets were VERY dirty. Pillows were absolutely horrible. Bed linen was not up to the minimum expected standard. Had to make my coffee in the virtuallly flexible plastic cups. No spoons. Tea / coffee was not replaced daily, unless requested. When I asked if I could take a quick snack and a drink very early in the morning, it was not clearly stated that this was extra, so I ended up paying 14 euros for a 3 minute breakfast. Otherwise the staff were very pleasant and helpful.
