Hotell The Gresham Hotel - Dublin

All aspects of the hotel were great but I was disappointed that they were unable to cater for my special need as a person with a disability. I telephone for some special assistance and they just said "No". No alternative was suggested.

The hotel is in a convenient location, but I would not rate it as 4 star. The beds were not very comfy and the the room could use a refresh.

Clean, spatious, but linens look outdated.

Wonderful location. Close enough to the fun but still quiet at night when sleep is appreciated. The lobby was quite nice, but the room itself was average at best, hence the rating.

We were placed in rooms that were rather noisy ( air con etc) but with a quick call to Reception were moved to a quieter area. Excellent no fuss service Thank you

The staff was very friendly and helpful. I were allowed to check in earlier than 3 which was a great help. They answered any questions we had and made us feel welcomed.

Hotel is in a fantastic location, bus for airport & sightseeing stops right outside. The rooms are lovely & spacious. We were woken up by seagulls each morning at 5am but didn't mind. The bar is nice but pretty expensive- 12 euros for half a pint and a small glass of wine. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Dublin.

It is right O'Connel street and across from the historic GPO. The along O'Connel can get a little rough later at night but there are lights. The hotel is traditional looking but many of the modern conviences. The one area they can work on is the comfort of the beds. Other then the stay was perfect and what is need in Dublin.

Really nice, clean and a pleasant stay

This was a great hotel for our weekend in Dublin. The hotel is full of character yet the room was very modern and very spacious looking out onto O'Connell St. The position was very handy for the hop on hop off bus, walking down to Temple Bar and the bus from the airport stops just round the corner. Clean -wonderful they gave us an upgrade since they saw that our reservation was for 5 nights all were curtious helpful location was a big plus it made our vacation truely wonderful

Do not stay at The Gresham, it is appalling. At check in we were told our room was ready. We got to our room & there was cleaning equipment in the bath, pillow cases lying on the floor & it was generally dirty. We had to carry our own bags back all the way to reception & told to check in later, this was 4pm! I then had to take our bags all the way to […] another room that was miles away from reception. This room was tiny & very loud, the shower was not working correctly, generally very disappointing. Finally breakfast was not served until 7.15am which was far to late for us because we had an early flight. The one highlight is definitely the afternoon tea that was delicious. Läs mer

The Gresham is a well-known hotel in the Dublin area and provided a comfy and close stay to all attractions within the Dublin area. It is within walking distance of the Temple Bar night life and is located in the center of the city. Downsides include the noisy city sounds and our room was located right next to the elevator that ran all night. The hotel […] itself also seemed old and we had some difficulty with old water pipes that caused for Luke-warm water until the pipes were thouroughly warm. This is a very comfortable hotel. It's location on Upper O'Connell Street makes it accessible to everything. We walked to all the major sites. The hotel bar is a wonderful place to relax and have a drink with friends. Highly recommended.

the hotel is beautiful and in a superb location. Our room was small and there were no extras, like hairdryer, coffee maker, etc which was unlike a four star hotel. we were not impressed with the room but enjoyed the convienence of being right in the heart of downtown Dublin

In my opinion this is not a four star rated hotel. While room was large it was quite shabby (arm chair threadbare, carpet worn out). The concierge were not helpful and not knowledgeable about restaurants in the city. No alarm clocks in room. Requests for wake up call resulted in no wake up calls. Location not ideal...would have preferred somewhere around […] St Stephen's Green or Grafton street area where there are shops and restaurants nearby. Only stay if the rate is amazing. Läs mer

We had a extended weekend with group of friends in Dublin and found The Gresham good choice. Location next to shopping street and withing walking distance from river bank as well as Temple Bar area made it suitable for our needs. Tourist information were in next building and bus tours started from near by. Rooms were spacious not luxory but tidy and […] nice. Btahroom tap was a bit loose in one of three rooms were only disadvantage. Noise from street when maintenance trafic started was a bit disturbing, but that is quite common in older buildings and was not disturbing all of our group, i dont generally sleep very tight in hotels. The price of the Gresham was quite moderate. I would recommend this hotel for any person traveling to Dublin in business or pleasure. Läs mer

Excellent in every respect . The only fault was that the safe did not work but after one of the staff replaced the battery quite quickly it was perfect. The room was very quiet and the mattress was perfect

Hotel advertised superior rooms but the rooms appeared to be standard with view of brick wall. Clean and updated but noisy

Very nice hotel in the centre of the city. Rooms were good & the staff were very personable. Food was freshly prepared & the afternoon tea in the lobby is a must. Its the small things that make the difference & for me it was the tea making facilities in the room. Plenty (Good quality) tea bags / coffee & mugs. At a really great price, the Gresham Hotel was a wonderful experience and in a perfect location. It was within walking distance of everything we wanted to do. The front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. We actually arrived in Dublin early in the morning (after a full night of traveling and no sleep) and they were able to get us into a […] room early so we could rest. We booked this only a week ahead, so the price was a more than we wanted. But we figured, why not, it's St. Paddy's Day in Dublin. (In the end, it did seem over-priced.) The hotel was nice, and conveniently located off of O'Connell St-a 10-15min walk to Grafton St, Temple Bar. Our room was very standard and faced an alley .Breakfast was not included […] and over-priced. However, the bed was the most comfortable bed I had slept in all week. hotel lobby , bars etc all very nice . I was put into a twin room not big enough to swing a cat in . put next door to cleaners store room with talking and banging early in morning . bathroom was well worn , with no shower over the bath . the pipework was there , but the fittings had been removed . bath panels were all bent with mastic everywhere . bathroom […] door threshold had a big gap in it holding all sorts of gunk . down stairs was just about 4 stars . room was 2 star no more . take your chances ? I would really recommend this hotel to everyone I know!! The hotel is in a great central location and is close to everything you will need during your stay. The staff are all welcoming and cater to your every need.I am hoping to visit dublin again and the Gresham is where I want to stay next time.

We stayed at the Gresham for one night before going back home to the US. Wish we could have stayed longer. A gem of a hotel, central location, well maintained and lots of character! very disappointed with the room. We were celebrating and so decided to stay in a nice hotel and paid extra for superior room. When we got to the room it was just normal- with 2 robes in the wardrobe there was a separate shower and bath but definately not worth the extra money! In the morning I wanted to have a bath and there was barely a trickle out […] of the hot tap so had to have a shower instead the pressure was very weak. Not what you would expect from an expensive hotel and especially not a "superior room"! when i complained at the front desk when we were checking out the man said "you should have rang reception- we would have sent someone up"!- I dont think a hotel employee would be able to magic water pressure instantly!! he was non apologetic. Great, old style hotel, with great, very friendly staff. The room was a bit cold at night as there was an issue with the heating in the room, we were offered a change of room immediately, but as we were settled we wanted to stay so they provided an additional heater which worked a treat.

Great value for money. Only issue is the bar area were we had to leave due to being ignored and have lunch at another venue.

Hotel fine, reception very welcoming and helpfull. Rooms clean and comfortable, bit dated but part of the charm. Foyer bar staff bit slow, had to go to bar on both occasions to get served after waiting too long at the table.

Very Central, Clean,Friendly A bit noisy at night if you stay in a front room. Breakfast was good.

Hotel was perfect for marathon. Nice bar also.

this hotel is in a central location but the rooms are not 4 star i was dissapointed as it was not what i had expected for the money i paid. room keys didnt work and we could hear everything that was going on in hallway with people coming and going not very good when you are going on a relaxing break.
