Hotellet har ett mycket bra läge. Vårt rum hade en fantastisk utsikt, sköna sängar och var rent och fräscht.

Trevligt hotell men något slitet. Stora bra rum, mycket fint och rent. Trevlig park utanför,bra concierge och nära till allt. Absolut prisvärt!!

Very close to milleniumpark and comunications. The hotel is old and the rooms are not renovated for a very long time.. But everything was clean and the frontdesk was good. A little expensive for the standard of rooms.

Jag förstår inte alls de dåliga omdömen som finns inlagda. Vi är mycket nöjda. Bra läge, fin utsikt, rent och fräscht rum, kassafack. Kan bara rekommendera.

Medium priced hotel very nicely situated towards the waterfront and Lake MIchigan. Extremely priceworthy considering price/performance

Ett äldre hotell som skulle behöva renoveras, ligger centralt och bra. Fungerar som budgetalternativ om man ändå inte tänker vara så mycket på hotellrummet men gå gärna ut och köp frukost för hotellts har mer att önska.

Det allra sämsta boendet på hela treveckorsturen i USA. Läget är dock perfekt, mitt i centrum invid Grant park. Men annars var det dyrt, extra tillägg för allt även Internet, smutsigt, slitet, otrevlig och nonchalant personal i tjänst. Utanför entrén strejkade resten av personalen för att få betalt. Ersättarna kunde varken engelska eller städa.

Hotellet har ett bra läge och allt ser bra ut när man kommer in i receptionen. Rummet vi fick däremot var ingen höjdare. Hade nog inte renoverats på 30 år. När vi skulle duscha på morgonen fick vi handtaget i handen och det gick inte att stänga av. Det tog nästan 1-timme innan de hade fixat det. Kanske hade vi otur. Hotellet är litet nedslitet och inte tiptop som amerikanare vill ha. Däremot är priset bra och det ligger perfekt beläget vid S Michigan ave med gångavstånd till shopping och museer. Det gick lätt att ta sig till hotellet från O'Hare med tunnelbana som kostar USD 2:25.

The lobby of the hotel reminded me a bit of the Ambassador Hotel of Milwaukee. The mosaic tile work, high arced ceilings and gilt framing, and marble work is beautiful. The hallways leading to the rooms are clean and smells of flower scented soaps, which helped exemplify the hotels age and history. The room I stayed in was nice and not overly spacious. […] Given the hotel's age, I was able to look past the signs of wear and sag in the ornate woodwork. The mattress could have used an update as well. But overall, for the price, I would recommend the Congress to anyone who was looking for a convenient place to stay in Chicago. Having traveled by Amtrak, the Congress was perfectly located and served as a good springboard for further exploration of the city. Läs mer

Beautiful, historic old hotel. We had gorgeous views of the lake and downtown area. Very enjoyable stay.

The room was big with nice tall ceilings. The shower had trouble heating up. But the bed was the MOST comfortable bed I have ever slept in!

This is the 3rd time I've stayed here so I knew what to expect. Still VERY surprised to see the Striking marchers outside the Hotel door. Not very welcoming. This has been going on for about 7 years now.

The location of the hotel is great, it is a really neat hotel and the public areas are all in real good shape. The room we were in could have gotten a little more maintenance and restauration - but everyone has its own point of view. The parking structure is some kind of an adventure - I wouldn't recommend self parking.

We have stayed at the Congress many times over the last 15 years. We return because we like the atmosphere. It's clean and the staff helpful.

Old hotel, not renovated. Small bedroom and very very small bathroom. Nice staff who gave us a king size bed without extra charge. The location is good but a bit far from the very center of the city.

Great location! Very close to the museum and theatre district. The hotel was good value.

Hotel was conveniently located for the activities that our family was doing - training for runs, walking, shopping on State Street and visiting friends at the colleges. Only complaint was we had no way to cool the room. Was very warm, but we survived. The rooms we had were older but very clean. Since we had small children in tow, the larger size of […] the older rooms worked great for us. Overall , we had a good stay. Oh and very easy access and valet parking was great and reasonable. The hotel was very nice.. Would definitely stay again..

I did not receive my requested wake up call for either day that I stayed at your hotel. That is not good service. Otherwise the hotel is clean, quiet, and in a good location downtown. Your door man was very good both days in getting a taxi for me.

Used to be an old grand hotel , now just old. Pictures and lobby look much better than the rooms. Rooms are a good 20 yrs. past remoldeling. The interior room doors were pathetic, numerous coats of paint, paint peeling, chipped and damaged wood. $10 a day for internet , and no wifi, when most hotels wifi is free. The price was right, but the condition of a non-renovated room is quite poor.

The hotel is old and not well taken care of, but the real issue I had was the staff has been on strike out front for over a year, so the hotel is dirty, the staff is disgrunteled and rude. My room smelled like cologne. All the channels were in Spanish and the whole hotel is very noisy. I will never staying here again. The Congress was o.k. My first rooms previous guests were smokers. I couldn't stay in that room & the desk staff found me a new room immediately. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. Bed was fair.

I guess you get what you pay for. I chose this hotel for the low price primarily and the location secondarily. The facilities are in dire need of updating. The room was too cold. When I complained, they sent up a space heater?

The location is one of the best. Being old, the rooms have character and good views. A/Cs canbe updated. But overall, a good stay, good service and a perfect location.

I realize the hotel is old, but the holes in the shower and in the walls in the hallway are repairable. The beds were the most uncomfortable beds I have slept in for a Hotel and the air in the room did not work so it was VERY stuffy and warm. I will say you have the friendliest staff!!

Enjoyed the room, the closeness to public transportation and amenities.

The hotel rooms are large and clean. While I'm sure during the warmer months the location is fantastic, the freezing wind blowing down Michigan Avenue makes walking around the neighborhood pretty unpleasant.

This hotel could not be in a better location. The room was big and had character, the bathroom was a little small, but that's to be expected. We liked it.

There was absolutely no hot water not even luke warm. When we checked out i mentioned that, the lady said ohh sorry. No compensation, nothing! Very rude!

I loved it everyone was friendly! Comfortable bed too.

Almost cancelled due to many not so good reviews. Glad I stayed! The location and price were both great. The striking workers were a non issue, my room was comfortable and clean, the lounge was a nice hangout between other stops. Yes it's an older historical hotel, but well kept I thought. Would definitely stay there again!

Stayed 5 nights for business, 10th floor room was spacious, clean, and adequately equipped. Some traffic noise from the street did reach the room, but didn´t bother me. Perfect location in the city center, right next to the huge Millenium park and lake front so you could pop out for a nice walk whenever you had half an hour to spare. The State street […] just few blocks west offered ample shopping possibilities, with a less touristic vibe than the uptown Magnificent mile. Also theaters and restaurants plenty nearby. Läs mer
