"Good Place to Stop on I-5"

"However"
Hotel was as expected. Room and service was excellent; however, I had made the reservation for a room for handicapped; instead, I was assigned a room in the second floor with no elevator. "Get the upper pool-side room"
We were in the Hilltop wing and loved our second floor room with small balcony overlooking the pool. Pool is unheated so will be a while before it is warm enough for less hardy swimmers. Have stayed here before and the hotel is very accommodating. Rooms are clean and I usually do balcony as I like to be out but for security up. Only downfall is that this is an older hotel so 1- there Is no elevator and 2-must always get a map to find my room as the layout is difficult at best. That being said the grounds are lovely and well kept, the […] pool and Jacuzzi are immaculate to include a handicap chairlift for the pool which though as a disabled vet I don't need it but am very aware of what is available for persons with disabilities The continental breakfast was good, for me would have loved yogurt. This place was completely adequate for our needs. Even though the rooms needed upgrading, ours was quite comfortable for our family. One thing I would recommend to them is to add the breakfast buffet as a free item - they would get more guests with kids especially. Hotel is old and there was some deferred maintanance (holes in ceiling of hallway). The hotel did not have elevator access so carrying bags up stairs was only option. The staff were most gracious. Location with in walking of good restaurants, shopping.Verifierad gästrecension

"Easy and wonderful location"
We had a choice of hotels in the Redding area, but chose the Red Lion. The location was wonderful, the staff very friendly and the general atmosphere was very welcoming. The Red Lion group welcomes pets which gets a huge plus for us, and does not charge an extortionate rate for them. "Great hotel for the price"
The Red Lion Inn in Redding was great! The room was very clean and spacious. My room was on the second floor and had a balcony. The room did face the freeway but I could not hear the traffic at all. The service at the restaurant and the front desk was excellent. Everyone was very friendly and had smiles. The food for dinner and breakfast was well prepared […] and flavorful. "Pleasant Experience"
Prior to arrival, I'd made a call to front desk to ask questions. They were just as helpful, pleasant, and courteous in person as they were the day of my call. The deluxe room we reserved was large, well appropriated, and clean. Comfortable bed with lots of fluffy soft pillows. I was put in the back part of the hotel, next to the frwy which was pretty loud at night. "good hotel chain; used previously and will again"
The hotel provides HD TVs but has purchased a standard tv reception package. So the Red Lion chain has spent a lot of money on a video capacity that they are not using and that the customer cannot enjoy but, is expecting with the wide screen HD TV. The pool and hot tub were not available during my visit and that should have been noted somewhere when […] looking for a hotel. For business use there is no place to lock a computer so that you can leave it beind and feel secure that it will be there when you get back. For those electrical devices that steal power as they have phantom power requirements:place them on a power bar and turn the bar off when no guests are in the room. "floor was dirty otherwise okay hotel"
we checked in to our room and realized the floor was really dirty. It was late and we stayed in the room anyway but ended up picking up lots of dirt and white balls that seemed to have fallen from the popcorn ceiling. It was obvious the floor had not been vacuumed in quite a while. I would not stay there again even though it was convenient to the freeway […] since there are other dog friendly hotels close by. "Pros n Cons"
Nice, clean and comfortable were the good points. What I did'nt like so much was a strange smell in our room. Not sure of what but not the most pleasing. Beautiful room, nice to have parking lot access via a sliding glass door. Everything about the room was great except that the toilet ran off and on in the middle of the night. "Definitely coming back"
We went to California for a house hunting trip and decided to stay here. The beds were extremely comfortable. We brought our dogs and we just opened the glass sliding door for them to do their business. If you get a room facing the parking lot, you can go straight into your room from the sliding door and it's easier to unload and load your stuff. WIFI […] was super fast too. There were so many nearby restaurants, gas station is right next door and there's a Safeway down the street. It is really close to Interestate 5 too.
