får nog säga att jag var lite besviken på hotellet. det känndes slitet och dåligt underhållt. Det bästa var frukosten.

Hotellet ligger fantastiskt till på Karl Johan men "myten" överträffar verkligheten. Med tanke på vad hotellet kostar är det ingen valuta för pengarna. Halvdålig frukost som hade överträffats av Scandic.

Stædutrustning och beggnadsmaterial læmnad i nærheten av vårt rum. Litet rum. Inget extra kænsla. Frukosten øverreklamerad. Boka hellre annat hotell.

Hotellet är storslaget, vackert i dom allmäna ytorna och det ligger perfekt på Karl Johan. Servicen är av hög nivå, alla anstränger sig för att leverera, även om det kan tyckas lite rörigt i receptionenen vid incheckning. bodde i enelrum på plan 4, utsikten var katastrof, ett tak strax under med fimpar på. drack rödpang på takterassen istället där utsikten […] över K.J. var betydligt bättre. rummet kändes inte så lyxigt, öronproppar på kudden istället för choklad?! badrummet var dock fräscht. välfylld mini-bar, tackar! Åt 8-rätter på deras rest. Julius, helt ok, kändes väldigt prisvärt. frukosten var fin. tycker att atmosfären var grym och det är ett hotell man minns, även om det inte var extremt bra. kostade dock inte särskilt mer än något annat så väldigt prisvärt i slutändan. Grand hotell i Oslo tilhör den gamla typen av lyxhotell. Det är verkligen som att stiga in i en annan tidsera. Guld, heltäckningsmattor, stora speglar etc i foajen och i huvudtrapporna och i korridorerna. Men det är det jag förväntar mig av den här typen av hotell. Rummen är sedan en blandning av modernt och lite gammalt. Underbart med parkett och inte […] heltäckningsmattor i rummet. Det märks dock att hotellet har några år på nacken för det är lite slitet här och där, men man håller på med löpande renovering. Till hotellet finns gym och pool, men tyvärr öppnar de lite sent. Gymmet 06,30 och poolen inte förrän 07,00 så när man jobbar hinner man inte med ett morgonpass. Men poolen var härligt varm! Frukosten var bra, men når inte upp till Thon Operas standard. Saknade äggrör, ingen direktgräddad omlett och pannkakorna var kalla. Området där man tog maten kändes lite trång, men det kompenseras av den härliga anrika lokalen som man sitter i! Läs mer

Gammaldags elegans kombinerat med modern utrustning. Enorm och delikat frukostbuffé! Läget kan inte vara bättre - mitt i smeten. Men ändå tyst på nätterna.

Några i personalen behöver nog gå på charmkurs. Det fanns dock undantag.

This hotel has a great location in central Oslo and has an ok breakfast but unfortunately the standard is not as high as is expected by a Grand Hotel. I expected this hotel to be as grand as the Grand Hotel in Stockholm, but it was nowhere near it. The rooms are old and not modern in any sense. Good space in double room. Very central. Very good service. Could without any problem change room. Excellent breakfast.

Trevligt hotell med centralt läge och bra frukostbuffé. Men! Stor förvirring rådde vid incheckningen. Vi fick vårt rum först kl 17 istället för kl 15 pga "fullbokning". Deltagare till Brölloppsfesten i festlokalen stod och gapade om att det saknades garderob. Personalen bakom disken var rödlossiga och stressade. När vi skulle hem var det åter dags […] att stå i kö i en kvart för att checka ut. Personalen var trevlig och gjorde vad de kunde men servicen nådde inte alls upp till min förväntan. Läs mer

vi har bott på varandrarhem och motell med bättre standard än det här. vi är inte kräsna men det här hotellet kan inte klassas som ett 5-stjärnigt hotell. väldigt dålig standard, slitna rum med renoveringsbehov.

I choose Grand over any other Oslo hotel because: 1. Friendly staff, they have a genuine interest in making me feel good. 2. The breakfast.... 3. Location location location 4. Nice junior suites 5. They have started renovating the rooms, the last piece to the puzzle making them Oslo's premier hotel.

This hotel is finished - should have been restored 10-20 years ago but is now only an old misstreated hotel - not worth staying at. Even the roof top bar must be at least 20 yeaes ago since they redecorated. Forget this hotel and stay some where else.

Jag har bott på många "bra" hotell i Oslo. Detta var helt klart den bästa. Frukosten var helt perfekt och god. Bästa frukost-bordet i Oslo.

Helt fantastiskt hotell med underbar mat och personal. Servicen var enorm, allt från mat/ reception mm. Poolen var också kanon och hotellet är verkligen att rekomendera vidare. Personalen gjorde vår resa till något speciellt!!

Vi bodde i ett av dom vanliga mindre rummen och det var tyvärr i ganska dåligt skick. En lucka i taket hängde på trekvart, badkaret hade flagnat bort färg... Småsaker kan tyckas men det är ändå ett hotell med 5 stjärnor. Jag hade varit nöjd med rummet om det varit 2 stjärnor. Ett mycket trevligt och smakfullt hotell som har allt du behöver. Frukost buffén va bland den godaste jag haft. Dem hade tom en egen kock som stod och stekte ägg och bacon inne i salongen. Internet uppkopplingen fungerade inte som den skulle, på mindre än två minuter hade dem en på plats för att kolla va som va fel. då han inte kunde lösa felet så frågade […] han om det gick bra för oss att byta rum och visade oss två nya rum. Att ha internet va ingen prioritet så vi valde att ha kvar det första rummet. men bara för att påpeka servicen. Hotellet är placerat mitt i smeten och du behöver bara gå utanför hotelldörrarna och du är mitt i stan. Dem parkerar bort din bil, bär dina väskor så du kan helt och hållet koppla av och bara njuta av din semester, arbetsresa eller i vilket syfte du nu är på. Vi besökte även spa-relaxavdelningen. Skönt avkoppling på em innan man går ut och äter middag. Trevlig och fördomsfri personal! Kan ibland känna mig ignorerad när man besökt andra hotell pga hur man ser ut (jag har långt hår och tatueringar). Men inte på Grand, där kände jag mig alltid välkommen av samtliga. Rummet höll mycket hög standard, det va extremt rent och fräscht och aircondition funktionen va toppen då det va kvavt och super varmt ute. man sov gott! kan absolut rekommendera detta hotell till andra. det kostar lite mer, men samtidigt, man får vad man betalar för! Nära till sevärdigheter och nöjen. Bra service på hotellet. Mysigt relaxavdelning på toppen. Passa på att utnytja detta. Frukost i världsklass. "minstingen " i familjen uppskattade egen kock till frukostäggen. Helt ok att bo med familjen. Trevlig personal allt ordnades enkelt vid förfrågan. Kan rekommenderas. Vi kommer tillbaka iallafall.

Our family tried to sleep in 3rd floor and about 2AM it was possible. There was big party on second floor and you can just listen to that music. Not what you want to do with your children in five star hotel. I hope that hotel can organize their rooms better. Now I have to say that next time we have to choose some other hotel. This was one of the nicest hotel stays I've ever had. Staff were unfailingly friendly, helpful, and great to talk to, facilities were elegant and beautiful and in a perfect location. It is truly a grand hotel and as nice as many that cost much more. I can't think of a single negative thing to say about the Grand Hotel.

A great hotel found through Hotels.com. My fiancee and I had a fab weekend break in Oslo and the Grand Hotel played a large part in that. Wonderful staff who were happy to help and even advised us on what we should go and do/see and when. The rooms were lovely, bed was so comfortable and I liked that the hotel is 5 Star but not very modern, management […] has wisely maintained its charm. We used the Spa a few times (pool, sauna and steam room) which was lovely. Excellent facilities, helpful staff and our belongings were safe in the environment. Finally the Grand Cafe, I had read about this as a place to go within Lonely Planet. We were fortunate enough that breakfast (which was included with our stay) was in the cafe. It is just a perfect place, charming, sophisticated and elegant. The food was delicious and there was more than enough choice. The staff were very helpful and provided the right amount of attention. Each day the staff would bring around something different whether it be fresh fruit juice, homemade chocolate (on Easter Sunday) or a fresh veg juice. After staying in this hotel numerous times, on this occasion, I was disapointed. Firstly, I was give a very bad single room. After I paid for an upgrade, I settled into my room. Then I found out the TV did not work. Next, I ordered room service, it took a long time to come and then it was cold. Finally, I found a big fat man asleep in the coridor. I've been coming to the Grand Hotel for years, and always leaving feeling a little disappointed. It never QUITE lived up to the standard it should have. However ... this last trip was just perfect. Beautiful, quite room, perfect service. The room service menu could be a little more extensive though.

The hotel is in a great location, surrounded by shops, bars, restaurants and ideal for sightseeing. The room would have been fine if they hadn’t decided to include two armchairs, which made getting out of bed very difficult. The room didn’t need and couldn’t take the extra large furniture. One major disappointment with the hotel was the unrequested […] wake up at 07.05 am from maintenance being carried out to the air conditioning (as my husband is a maintenance manager he knew exactly what the noise was). When I mentioned this at reception I was informed that work is permit to be carried out between 07.00 – 15.00 daily. Something they decided to omit from their website, I’ve checked. S, if you like to sleep to a reasonable hour then forget it and be warned that it might not happen. Really not impressed with the reply or attitude from reception that is seemed perfectly acceptable for my holiday/sleep to be interrupted. Overall at age, but well kept hotel with few surprises.

The Grand Hotel is conveniently located to transportation for farther journeys and walking distance to all the main central sights in Oslo. Staff was accommodating to requests, breakfast buffet was well laid out with multiple selections of fish, cheeses, meats and pastry, and the overall feel was quite classy. This hotel has impeccable rooms and impeccable service. Norway is a very expensive place, and when I told my colleagues what I paid to stay there they were stunned that it was not 5 times more. The quality of service, food and ambience is unmatched in Oslo.

Amazing location, however, the hotel has No safe in the room and it is a bit old, that is, it needs renovation.

The hotel is beautiful on the outside although most hallways look terribly unkempt. Upon our arrival, we were assigned a room that did not have the amenities listed in the room description we received when we made our booking. We specifically requested a non-smoking room. Because of the weather, our window had to be opened (extremely hot and only heating […] was available as customary due to the weather/season). We were placed in the worst part of the hotel,******** which was actually almost completely vacant due to the dates of our stay. Our window opened to a dark courtyard which was the only place people could smoke around the hotel, so we were exposed to a whole night of cigarette nicotine (my father had gotten sick-eventually ended up with pneumonia-and my mother and I had to take medication for allergies- we are allergic to nicotine, which explains our initial request for a non-smoking room). Oslo is an expensive city, which we were aware of, as well as the type of hotel we chose. When we choose luxury, we expect great service and attention to detail. What we actually encountered at the Grand Hotel was some of the worst service we have received in any of the numerous countries/cities we have visited and lived in. The "Grand Cafe" staff would not allow us to bring food back to my sick father to the room, we had to pull information from the unpleasant concierge, and my personal favorite was how rudely we were greeted at the hotel restaurant and the spa. Fortunately, for every employee that provided atrocious service, there was another who made up for it by assuring that we were taking care of despite every challenge we encountered. There were no hair appointments at the hotel's hair salon during our stay, nor was there any space at the spa for hotel guests on Saturday, since it was full of locals that occupied Every seat and had booked all the appointments for the services we had been looking forward to during our time at our hotel in Oslo. Amazing hotel in a location which is easily accessible to most attractions. Very professional & friendly staff.

Very disappointing stay at what was supposed to be Oslo's best hotel. We were allocated a dreadful room with a bathroom not fit for any star rating. When we asked to move we were told that there were no rooms available in the same price category. We could, however, upgrade to a junior suite (at considerable extra cost). We looked that the suite but […] it wasn't worth the extra. Only after much pressure to do something, low and behold a refurbished room became availble. This was much better, except the shower sprayed water all over the floor. Anyone thinking of booking a stay should not accept any room which has not had the bathroom upgraded. Staff attitudes were also interesting. One employee told us that Norwegian hotel standards are far below those of other countries so we shouldn't expect too much. Another staff member told us when we got down to breakfast 5 minutes after the end of serving that we 'should have got up earlier'. Not even a cup of coffee was possible. Avoid. A fine traditional Grand Hotel environment, though the lobby/cafe areas are more grand than the hallways or the room decor. Still, an excellent hotel with an excellent professional staff in a perfect location.

Good and quite affordable with central location. However, we were 4 people staying in the superior room. The room was too small for 4 people; it's double room with 2 extra beds which made it to crowdy. But, excellent service. Amazing breakfast

The hotel is nice, with a good location, the only tiny gripe is using the hotel swimming pool for kids. I don't think they really welcome the idea of kids using their pool, only because it is part of their spa area, and they were very insistent that our kids be extra quiet (no such stipulations on some of the adults there though!). Then when we returned […] another day, there was no room as there were already a maximum of 4 kids in the pool, and the recommendations was that we should have booked/reserved a space at the swimming pool?!?! The Grand Hotel was a wonderful place to stay. The front desk employees and the doorman were very helpful. The Cafe next door serves a great dinner and is where you eat your buffet breakfast. I can't say enough about how well they treated us. Would definately stay there again.

Very nice hotel if you make sure to get one of the recently renovated rooms. The old ones do not match the hotel´s status. The hotel was fully paid, breakfast included, but I got additional charges that are yet to be cleared.
