Overall the Wellington Hotel was very good. Super quiet in the room, the bed was very comfortable and staff were happy to change our room from 2 single beds to a king sized bed. The pool was being renovated while we were there but I'm sure it will be ready in a couple of weeks, just in time for summer. The renovations do look good by the way. Very expensive for what it is. Old rooms, Stuff mourning at you when you asked for what you have paid. I ordered a double bed in a non smoking room as always, they wanted to give me a single bed in a non smoking or double bed in a smoking room. At the end, they gave me what I have paid for. The rooms were very warm with no possibility to put air conditioning as the system has only one possibility either cold during summer of heat during winter. All the corridors are so warm. We had to sleep with windows open every night! The sheets are very stift ( probably due to some special chemical treament). During night, it started to "rain" in water […] at the bathroom. all night was just like a waterfall and one could not get into the bathroom. I got a better room the day after. The wellington is a nice-looking hotel in a lovely neighborhood, but the staff is sub-par. They do not greet you as you come and go and if you need to ask them something it's as if you are always interrupting. Also, although they boast wifi service it is not free. It is actually extremely expensive and once you log in the first time, your session continues […] regardless of whether you computer is even on, which was not explained at the time of purchase. Very good hotel including a nice wellnes

Enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel. Only complaint is that there was no ability to get coffee without going outside hotel to cafe attached to hotel...There should be coffee pots in room or downstairs - You must pay for a very expensive breakfast in hotel to get coffee in hotel.

The Wellington Hotel is located in the middle of the high-end shopping and residence area of Madrid, called Salamanca. The best (and most expensive) shops are all within a radius of 500 meters walk. If you're not the shopping sort, the Retiro park is another 100 meters away, good for an early-morning jog or a relaxed, afternoon stroll. One can reach […] it by metro station Velasquez, which is 100 meters from the hotel. A taxi from the airport will set you back 35 euros. The hotel is, as its name indicates, a proto-typical British-style place, with high ceilings, lots of golden mirrors, and all other features that would fit directly into London/Kensington. The rooms are a bit smallish, but well equipped with a very generous and high quality outfitting. Service and breakfast (expensive but in stylish surroundings) were fluid and friendly. We didn't use the health & beauty center or the outside, rooftop terrace, too little time. A relaxing stay in the heart of Madrid, unaffected by its hustle and bustle; we'll be back! Läs mer

Couldn't have been more pleased with this hotel. I visited 25 years ago and stayed in the same place; it had the same excellent service as before and the location in central Madrid was still first rate. A good part of the city is within walking distance, as well as shops, restaurants and the like. Forgot to bring an adapter for the current so they provided […] me with an adapter and a transformer as well. A great hotel in a fabulous location. Only 2 blocks away from the Metro and a beautiful park. This hotel had all the amenities you could imagine. The front desk staff does not speak a lot of English, but tried very hard to help.

Spent the weekend at the Wellington. Overall we had a nice stay. Rooms need updating but the beds etc we comfortable. The major disappointment is that we booked its specifically for the pool and it was shut!!!

This is my 4th stay in this hotel...and love it!! excellent attention!!!

I always stay at the Wellington in Madrid. In over 20 years of visits (and another 30 beyond that with my parents) there has never been a disappointment.

We strongly suggest placing it at the top of your list if you will be coming to Madrid. The staff are outstanding. They take superb premises and turn them into a unique experience. The hotel is very well placed in Madrid for many of the most popular sites you may wish to visit.

My ratings are "down the middle" for condition of hotel, cleanliness and comfort, to average out our displeasure with the first room we stayed in and the renovations going on. Upon check-in we were put into a double room what must have been one of their smallest rooms, and that was in great need of refurbishing considering its 5-star status (very dingy, […] threadbare and beat-up with that "old-fashioned" madrid style that should be left in the past). Our beds were on wheels (2 separate) and not "locked" - with one that bounced up & down when you sat on it-- and - - there was barely any closet space... after 2 nights (for an 8-nite stay), we asked to be moved and they gave us another room - while still in the un-renovated part - it was at least roomier & much more comfortable, with beds that didn't bounce!. Of course they are currently undergoing renovation and half is completed - the new rooms are up to today's quality standards. Last negative comment - other than the fact that hardly ANY hotels in this world have good lighting in their bathrooms - this one is no exception. Husband can't see to properly (safely) to shave... and I must say while the beds are extremely comfortable - the sheets, of high quality, are just too rough. OTHERWISE, our stay was lovely - the pool was marvelous and the staff professional and courteous. We would return here, during summer months only, for the pool and service, as this is our preferred neighborhood. Läs mer

A great historic hotel in downtown Madrid. Great location, excellent service. A great place to stay if you are looking for that out-of-ordinary vacation experience. Modern travelers may be disappointed. Wi-Fi is not free and is charged at a premium. There is a business center for Email access, but not free Wi-Fi in the lobby like at most hotels. We stayed for 4 days in this hotel over a weekend to celebrate a special anniversary. The hotel was elegant and very high quality but a little dated. In general we found it too officious and pompous. It was not a place to relax in casual sightseeing clothes in lobby or bar. Prices for any for food & drinks was very expensive. We were disappointed to […] discover on arrival that the pool was closed in late summer. Its a nice old world hotel with charm but casual dress felt out of place. More suited to business use, for guest with large budget. Staff were polite but not very well informed on sightseeing activities. Terrific location for visiting Madrid's major art museums and accessint Retiro Park.

The hotel website states that they have a swimming pool. This is true, but the pool is NOT open. We were told it is closed for the whole year for repairs.

Great location, the staff is amazing

This is the 3rd time we have stayed in the Wellington now. The location of the hotel is excellent, close to the Retiro park and the metro network. The welcome is fantastic.The staff are attentive and welcoming and the quality of the service is outstanding from arrival (doorman adn reception) to maids and restaurant staff. ドアマンは感じが良かったがフロントが今ひとつ親切な感じがしませんでした。 勿論丁寧な応対をして頂きましたが・・・ それと訪問客と宿泊客の区別無くいろいろな人が出入りしていてセキュリティがしっかりしているかどうか少し不安な感じがしました。 部屋は可もなく不可もなし。

+ Goede service, vriendelijk personeel, fijn ontbijt. - Badkamer : onpraktische indeling, geen zuivere look. Zeker aan te raden, al vind ik 5 sterren te hoog gegrepen (eigenlijk te duur voor wat het waard is).

Нам очень понравился отель, красивое старинное здание, в двух шагах от великолепного парка Ретиро, музеи , магазины, рестораны в шаговой доступности. В отеле великолепный сервис, доброжелательный персонал и вкуснейший ресторан.

É um hotel bem localizado,de fácil acesso a pontos turísticos e museus,mesmo a pé.Fui colocada em um apartamento que não gostei(achei mal conservado) e então fiz um "upgrade" para um apartamento melhor,reformado há pouco tempo,mais novo,com um acréscimo de 20 euros/dia.Tem lençóis de linho nas camas,mas o apartamento não é muito grande.Acho que os banheiros,apesar […] de grandes,mereciam uma reforma.De maneira geral,a estada foi satisfatória.Acho que o ponto alto do hotel é a localização.São atenciosos com crianças também. Es la tercera vez que nos quedamos en este hotel que está en el elelegante y tranquilo barrio de Salamanca, al lado del parque del Buen Retiro, museo del Prado, etc. Si no se quiere caminar al centro, hay una estación de metro muy cerca y luego de tres estaciones se llega a la Puerta del Sol. Vi tilbragte 5 netter ved Wellington fra 11. juni 2011. Det var utrolig god service, hyggelig betjening, god frokost og god standard på rommet. Hotellet ligger i nærheten av en handlegate med mange eksklusive butikker og like ved Retiroparken. Litt langt å gå til de beste restaurantområdene, men metroen ligger rett rundt hjørnet. Cet hôtel bénéficie d'un emplacement idéal pour rayonner dans Madrid. El problema es que uno ya no puede hacer cambios en la reservacion despues de que la confirma en esta pagina, el hotel nos dijo que ya todo estaba cobrado por la pagina hoteles.com De ahi todo lo demas bien

Het hotel was mooi, maar wij zijn erg teleurgesteld over uw organisatie. Wij hadden dit hotel, in verband met ons verblijf in de warme zomertijd, gekozen omdat het een zwembad heeft.. U heeft ons er niet van op de hoogte gebracht dat wij er niet in konden zwemmen omdat het in de verbouwing was!! Over een dergelijk ongerief moet u voortaan uw klanten […] informeren!!! Läs mer
