Fräsht hotell men var ett tag sedan hotellet renoverades. Ligger vid en stor tågstattion som är lätt att ta sig del från och till narita flygplatsen samt att åka med t-banan runt i stan. Dock är kvarteren inte helt centralt och finns inte mycket restauranger i närheten. Fungerade helt ok för oss, men nästa gång skulle jag vilja bo mer centralt i tokyo. […] Vi hade en dag då vi låg vid utomhuspolen vilket svar skönt om men besöker tokyo på sommaren. I travel to Tokyo regularly with work and this is hands down one of the worst hotels for the price I have stayed at. Additionally if you find yourself in the misfortunate position of staying here avoid the steakhouse that is in the restaurant at all cost. The Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa is a lovely hotel situated about 8 minutes walk from the Shinagawa station, while some may feel that it is a walk you do get to walk through the wonderful views of Sakura and the garden on your return or departure. It has depending on the room a lovely view of the garden or a view of Tokyo city including the Tokyo Tower […] and Sky Tree. Rooms are spacious and clean. Staff are very helpful and will try to help you with any query. It is helpful to learn some Japanese before your stay as this will help you not just at the hotel but elsewhere. The service and hotel standard is very high, as with most Japanese hotel. Cleanliness of room is top standard. Cant really find any thing to fault at all. The location is very accessible and safe, with the Shinagawa subway station just 5 mins away. There are malls and restaurants around even for late night snack or supper.

I really enjoyed my stay. One reviewer gave me a heads up on how to enter the hotel through the sister hotel and walk through garden, Very helpful. It meant I didn"t have to climb up that hill twice a day.

The first room they had me in was small and "regular ", it ended up being very smelly and when I pointed this out to the manager I was put into a very large and very bright room where I spent the remaining 4 nights. Very nice, it is not that there is a problem every once. In a while but how one takes care of it.

It was my first time being in Tokyo and this hotel seemed cheapest for this standard. The location is not bad, it is a 5 minute walk up a hill which can be very tiring after a long day but it is in a quieter area than say Shinjuku, so depends on preference. It is close to Shinagawa station and hence, easily able to reach almost anywhere in Tokyo via […] public transport. Staff were lovely, always helpful, spoke good English and gave us advice on all of our queries. Some reviews here talked about the outdated decor, and the contrast to the lobby and it is pretty stark at first (the lobby is very very nice compared to rooms) but I wasn't fussed about it at all and overall, it was a comfortable stay. I probably wouldn't stay here if I had to pay the full price (we got a cheaper deal here) and if you are going to be spending heaps of time around Shinjuku etc as it is a 15-20 minute train ride away. The Takenawa Prince complex of hotels and gardens are a lovely oasis in the city with easy access to the Shinagawah train station, a major hub for connections all over the city. Although it now caters to a larger clientele and competes on price, it istill offers everything one expects of a top class hotel. The rooms are comfortable, the service is excellent and the location in walking distance of Shinagawa Station and subway is unbeatable. My wife and I have come here for years and we continue to enjoy the place.

The air conditions are not working .it is only fixed to 22 degrees and cannot possible to change. There is no beverage in the refrigerator . You have to give an order to reception. The room we booked (one of the garden view double rooms) was really nice and spacious compared to other hotels we've used in Japan. The bed was absolutely huge and very comfy. The bathroom was really clean and had good facilities, although the decor was a little dated. The free tea was good too. The one improvement I'd suggest would be free wifi. It's very close to Shinagawa station where you can get the subway and Shinkansen and there are plenty of local shops to get breakfast if you need to do that. There's not a lot to do in the area in the evenings and there's a bit of a shortage of decent restaurants but it is nice and quiet around the hotel grounds which was really nice after a day of sightseeing. Grand Prince Takanawa Hotel is but one of a few all with similar names on the same property. This gives the hotel the ability to have an expansive traditional Japanese garden in between the Takanawa, Sakura and Shin-takanawa hotels. For example--I had made 1000 cranes for my friend's Japanese wedding but I did not have a nice display vase for them. The front desk staff hunted down the right shop for me (an Ikebana shop) and they had a vase waiting for me by the time I walked to the store. I am a big fan of Sengakuji Temple (of 47 Ronin fame) which is about 1500m from the hotel. The hotel sits on the hill near Shinagawa train station. The traditional Japanese garden is nice and peaceful and provides respite from the busy streets of Tokyo. The location is somewhat convenient (only a short walk from Shinagawa station), and the hotel room is quite roomy (we upgraded to a Garden View room), but the rest of the picture isn't so good. Lovely stay at Takanawa. Business center isn't great though. It is a coin operated computer and I never figured out how to print. Breakfast was fabulous, but pricey. Other meals were great too. Very close to subway and they have a convenient shuttle. Good option for Tokyo!

Very nice hotel with excellent service from all staff. The garden area in the rear of the hotel is beautiful and a very pleasant stroll. Restaurants in the hotel are quite expensive but many reasonable options are within walking distance. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the train station.

It was much too short. Room was comfortably decorated in traditional tatami and wall hangings. Helpful staff willing to help even if they could not speak English. It would have been better if Internet access was included in the room package.

The only suggestion for the hotel staff is to provide internet service for free. It would add to the convenience of those travelers who do not have their laptop with them, and do not have coins. This hotel easily could afford it.

First, let me say I hated this hotel, and I would never return there or recommend it to anyone. The location is in the most boring part of Tokyo, you will need to leave the area to do anything, decent shopping, decent restaurants, decent nightlife - none of that will be found anywhere near this hotel. The hotel advertises wifi - well, for a surcharge, […] and only if they happen to be able to supply your room with a route, of which they have a limited supply. So there's a good chance you won't have to spend an extra Y1000 per day because there's a good chance they won't have a router to give you. Oh, and the concierge service - useless, totally useless. Anything good about this place? Well it is only 10 minutes (uphill walk) from Shinagawa Station on the JR line, a key subway line for getting around Tokyo, and one you will use often, because there is nothing to enjoy in or near the hotel Avoid it like the plague! We read many of the previous reviews before we booked this hotel, I have to say that their reviews are 'spot on'. The hotel is well situated in the Shinagawa area where most trains intersect. Easy departure to Kyoto and Hiroshima on the bullet train, 'Shinkasen". Try and get the pass by applying 2-3 weeks ahead of time to save money as travel is expensive […] in Japan. Although most newer hotels in japan are tiny, these rooms were spacious amd had a garden view. The bell staff were extremely helpfull with our plans for travel and spoke excellent English. I spent a week at the Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa and was very pleased with my experience. The hotel is lovely and the grounds between the sister hotel are spectacular, simply spectacular. Such a surprise to find this lovely oasis in the middle of bustling Tokyo. The hotel is very conveniently located as it is an easy walk to the Shinagawa metro station […] and the station is surrounded by great stores and restaurants. I only ate twice at the hotel...once at the incredible steak house where the Kobi beef melted in my mouth, and the other time in the lovely french restaurant where the service and food was impeccable. The concierge arranged two tours and my airport pick (left too early for the airport limousine/train) and I was very pleased with this attention. All in all.....I LOVE Tokyo and when, not if.., I return I will stay at the Grand Prince again. Läs mer
