They give us a smoking room. It reaked of smoke and dust. The room was in poor run down condition. Wont stay there if not necessary.

This is a great place to stay if you are looking for a clean, comfortable and affordable hotel. The rooms and hotel lobby are nice. The internet connection was always available and I enjoyed a quiet restful stay… Can't go wrong here :-)

We stayed for 2 nights- on the second night, at approx 10PM we started hearing an argument and cursing coming from outside the room- someone was hitting the walls outside and began pounding on our door, cursing and yelling on the cell phone- we were in bed- the curtains were closed-- did not open door- yelling continued so, I turned on the overbed light […] and called the front office for help- a young lady said she would check- the noise stopped- i figured someone had some to see what was going on- I turned out the light and it was quiet for another 15 minutes but again there was someone outside our room only this time pacing back and forth and talking more softly into his cellphone- I could not fall asleep until about 2am when all noise was stopped- it was very scary for 2 middle aged women who where traveling alone to have to experience- What bothers me the most was that when I talked to the desk as we checked out , they told us that no one reported anything happening over the night- did anyone actually even care to investigate what was going on if no report of any trouble was passed on to the AM staff?- I will never stay at this hotel again- things like this happen but in this case no one even checked on our security after the person pounded on our door- it would have been considerate to at least give our room a call to let us know someone had followed up on our complaints- and not to tel the AM staff of what happened- totally unacceptable! We made reservations at the Days Inn Newark beause it is very close to Christiana Hospital. The first room we were given, the beds had been taken apart & the mattresses were leaning against the wall. There was also an overwhelming smell of some type of cleaning solution. The second room we were given was ok. The room had some old french fries on the […] floor. Imwould suggest that if you do plan to stay here, bring your own towels. The towels were very thin and small, more like a large hand towel. The receptionist was nice enough, but there is onlhy so much they can do. There are other hotels in the same area, that are much better, for just a few bucks more. Läs mer

Good basic hotel.

Price is right and below most of the competition. What keeps us going back is the front desk service. Most of the time on the weekend it is the same young man who couldn't be more accommodating. Some of the rooms need some TLC and the in room safe needs attention. But the beds are comfortable, amenities sufficient, and heat / ac works. Basic clean hotel room that accepts pets and at a reasonable price. Very convenience to highway only 14 miles to Kennett Square -- Longwood Garden. Would stay again.

the staff did their best to accomodate with an early check-in. nice clean room, no frills. good place to stay over night and lay your head down before continuing on to the next thing.

I would never stay in a Day's Inn again, the room was horrible, the tv didn't work properly, the blow dryer didn't work, my room didn't get cleaned came back to a dirty room, and then when I came back from a shopping trip and had many bags in hand, my key card didn't work! So I had to walk back down the stairs, (it was raining) put my stuff back in […] the car and drive to the lobby, apparently she only had my key working for one day and not 2. No apologies so went back out in the rain, to my car drove back to my room dragged my bags back up the stairs again. So frustrating! Läs mer

Even though I asked for a smoking room, the first room had ashes filled in the sitting chair and it looked disgusting. The front desk personnel moved me to another room. The second room had used pillows, some clean, I took the clean pillows to sleep on, I was too tired to wait for new ones (it was 8:ish & I was preparing for work the next day). The face towel in the bathroom had black marks on it and the same marks were on one of the pillow cases.

THEY HAVE ROACHES.

We went to the Days Inn for Parents Weekend at University of Delaware. The room was clean and comfortable. For the amount of time we were at the hotel it was fine. There are many restaurant chains and a shopping center within walking distance. The college is about ten minutes away. I would definitely stay at the Days Inn again.

entire hotel needs an overhaul. room was shabby. guests were very noisy late into the night. did not feel all that safe here.

Close to the highways and a clean room.Free bagels and coffee in the AM.

I was very disappointed with the room and the hotel itself. The rooms were not clean. The doors of the room were rusted and old. We called up for towels and were told to come them ourselves because they would take too long. The complimentary breakfast was inadequate and stale. Very bad experience.

When arrived was just off of 95 witch made it perfect to go to the track. When checking in they said they had a room for a king witch I had selected and wouldnt give it to me they wanted to give me 2 twin beds. So I had to argue with them and had to show them all my hotel reservation paperwork and then finnaly gave me a king smoking room when I reserved […] a King Non Smoking. the Tub in the room felt very unstable when standing in it. It felt like you were going to fall through. Besides what was stated above the Hotel was very nice and becasue of being Season Ticket holders for the Nascar race at Dover I would stay again Läs mer

Very convenient for us. 3 miles from early AM conference. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Carpet worn in some places and some chipped paint on doors, but on the whole, a well-maintained place. Room was nice and clean. Clock radio wasn't working, but had alarm on cell phone. Used that and filled out maintenance form on nightstand. Included continental […] breakfast: instant oatmeal, cereal, milk, bagels, toast, fruit, juice, hot beverages. Motel is close to highway. Made it convenient, but room was not very sound proof. Could easily hear traffic and folks outside when we checked in. After 10pm, things quieted down, so didn't interfere with sleep for us. If you're looking for a lot of extras, this probably isn't your place. If you just want a clean, convenient, reasonably priced place for the night with courteous staff, we had a good experience. We were pleasantly surprised because we had read some negative reviews. The rooms were clean and didn't smell like cigarette smoke. The landlord allowed us to stay 2 hours past our checkout time because our bus was going to be later in the day. It is near restaurants etc. and the buses that will take you to the University, grocery store and movie theater. […] The provided breakfast was good, especially for being free. One of the service desk employees was totally clued out, which was irritating, but other than that it was a pleasant stay. Läs mer

This hotel provides the basics like the chain it represents. A nice, clean, place to get a night's sleep. Internet was accessible and TV worked fine. Hot water and all basic comforts available. The complimentary breakfast, while a nice idea, is an unhealthy experience - all starch, sugar, breads, and cereals. No protein. Better to go out for breakfast. […] Staff was nice and attentive. Staff were very polite and accomodating. Helped recommend places for us to eat nearby. Hotel was quiet and pretty clean. Only issue was the shortage of working outlets in the room and the outlet for the blowdryer didn't work at all. Otherwise, we were satisfied with our stay and would stay there again.

I don't know where to begin, because I was not very happy with my stay. On 7/22/11 I wanted to spend a nice comfortable weekend with my husband for his birthday. We live close, but we wanted to take a small break from our house and the kids. Long story short, the room was hot as all hell, there was no ice on any floor and the carpet had the room smelling […] dirty (the romance was out the door). Of course the hotel was to capacity and they could not move us til the next day. I was able to get a different room the next day, but once again no ice (that pretty much kilt the chillin with drinks with my husband for the second night in a row. The elevator was nasty. I would never visit this hotel again or recommend it to anyone. I thought I got a good rate for 2 days, but I wouldn't have paid $2 to stay if I would have known this. Läs mer

This hotel is advertised as non smoking but in actuality smoking was permitted on site. The non smoking room we had was on the 3rd floor - all the fumes from the smokers from the floors below rose above. The access to the upper floors was weird as we had to go outside through the smokers area to get to our room. Very dingy.

Worst experience of my life. There drug deals taking place at the hotel and it was just a terrifing experience. I checked in at 3pm and checked out at 5:30 pm the same day. I was horrified.

After driving 15 hours and arriving at the hotel at 3:30 in the morning, we were looking forward to nothing more than a nice, clean bed. We had booked 2 nights via hotels.com. However, when we arrived they told us that they canceled our reservation and with some effort we were able to get our reservation reinstated and get our room key. We walk into […] the room and are bombarded with the awful stench of stale cigarette smoke. We decided that we were far too exhausted to complain and get a new room and decided we would do so after some much needed rest. The next morning at 11:15am (check-out is 11:00) we hear knocking on the door. It was the front desk asking why we haven't checked out, the simple response being, we paid for two nights. They continued to argue with us at our door, eventually going back to the office to double check. In the meantime, we pulled up the confirmation email from hotels.com, which stated that we booked a non-smoking room for two nights. The internet worked great by the way. So, we show him the reservation and while he acknowledged that the confirmation was legitimate, he continued to argue with us that in his system it was one night in a smoking room. To which our only response was, we are the paying customer, and we paid for two nights in a non-smoking room. He insisted that he speak with someone from hotels.com, whom told him that the information they sent him was exactly what our confirmation email stated. Then he required that they re-fax their request. All that needed to be done at that point, was to give us what we paid for. No arguments, no explanations. After a long lecture from the front desk employee (and not a single apology), we were told that they would give us a non-smoking room in a little while. We ended up having to wait until 5pm for them to get a room ready, at which point in time, our clean clothes in our luggage had absorbed the fine stench of smoke. Located just off I-95 and next to both the Christiana Mall and Christiana hospital. Quick check in and check out with friendly staff. Would def. recommend this hotel for the price.

if i were looking for a place just to sleep this hotel would be fine but i had a family with me that likes to swim. the pool had no one looking over the guests and there were some rude guests who think they can do anything they like. my girls did not even want to get into the pool. kids were running and diving over top of people. second we went to continental […] breakfast in the mourning supposed to be open til 9:30am, but at 9:15 they closed the doors into the food area and started cleaning up. Convenience - Food/Mall/Highways

The hotel was clean and comfortable. Highly recommended. We were a bit annoyed however that several of our neighbors booked non-smoking rooms and then went outside their doors and smoked and we could smell it. The only other quirk was we left some food in our fridge and called the hotel to see if we could come back and get it. The front desk said yes […] and that they would have housekeeping staff bring it to the front desk. We got there and the front desk said housekeeping told them there was nothing in the room. We contested. They gave us a key to go check for our selves. We get to the room and sure enough it was still there. The housekeeper was there too and all she said was "Oh, that's food?" I guess she'd never seen a takeout box or gatorade bottle before. The pool looked awesome but was way to crowded for us to have any room to swim. Still, we'd stay there again. Läs mer

I would recommend for any long period stay. Room stunk of cigarattes and I'm scarred to know how clean the sheets or carpet were...but i really crashed in here for like 10 hours...so it served its purpose......

It is a motel that is clean and in a great location in terms to easy interstate access to get to Philly or NJ. Several restaurants very close by for example Applebee's is in walking distance. Dunkin Donuts, Cheesburgers in Paradise, Old Country Buffet are down the road. Nice outdoor pool for kids. Continental breakfast is minimal, but hey you get what […] you pay for. Room had fridge an microwave which is nice if you have a family. If you want/need a clean room, good location, very inexpensive motel then this might be for you. Läs mer

The rooms were spacious, but dirty. There were beer bottle caps on the floor and the bathroom was filthy. Would not stay there again!

I was truly impressed with this hotel, the location and the cleanliness. I would definitely stay there again!

We had a very nice stay. Easy to get to. Located near shopping and restuarants.

Older hotel but room is comfortable and generally clean. Had working AC and cable TV. Average quality but good value. Also came with breakfast. Kids enjoyed the pool.

Warning for those of us who need Hair Conditioner - bring your own if staying here. We were traveling by air so didn't bring any hair care products counting on the hotel having them. On the 2nd morning of our stay I noticed that we were not resupplied any conditioner. Went to the front desk at 5:15am - no one was at the desk. Tried several minutes but […] still no one - had an early morning flight so couldn't wait - later we called the front desk finally got an answer they were out of conditioner. It is a small thing but needed. Rooms are small, there were four in our group could barely move in the room. Läs mer
