Upon checking in to the hotel, the room we were given was dirty from the last people that stayed there. Once we got a new room, it had dried throw up on the wall, that I had to clean off myself. I reserved a king size room, and upon check in was told they don't have that kind of room. I checked in and had to wait because my room had not been cleaned. Not a big deal. I went to dinner. However, my room did not get vacuumed. The worst thing that happen to me for the 1st time in a motel/hotel... that night was that during the night someone with a key enter my room. I said HELLO an they said sorry and left. What to do??? There are a lot of things wrong with this hotel, particularly maintenance and housekeeping issues. The carpet was barely vacuumed in the middle of the floor - trash items under the table - and not vacuumed at all along the edges - there was a good inch wide strip of dust, dirt, crumbs, and general detritus along the walls and furniture bases. No hand […] towels. No latch on the bathroom door. There was a coffee pot, but no coffee or cups; in fact, no drinking glasses at all. The internet was "broken", and after reading reviews from a couple years ago, it's been "broken" for a long time. The continental breakfast was skimpy - cereal, coffee with coffeemate, and orange juice. We ended up walking over to the diner next door, which was cheap and great. Pros: The shower was hot, with great water pressure; the parking lot was large; it was quiet; I felt safe. And it was cheap. I think I'll pay a little more next time and find somewhere else. Läs mer

The room was disgusting !! There were male leftovers over the bedspread ... Dried blood stains on the mattress the place looked like it hasn't been vaccumed in years , I was so grossed out and disgusted I would never recommend or advise anyone to stay here the place needs to be shut down

I would not recommend this hotel because the service was very poor. I had booked a king room but as soon as I entered it felt like a sub standard cheap hotel with unwelcoming view and location. I don't recommend this hotel.

Man! Where to start? How about...what do you expect for a room under 45 bucks? You roll the dice and you take your chances. Nice room (some minor mechanical questions), but it was clean and furnished. No breakfast to speak of, (maybe just a bad day).

I was looking for a place to sleep and that was pretty much what this was. Heat wasn't even turned on. Towels were filthy. Wallpaper above shower was peeling and moldy. Upon arriving the hotel was expecting me and it was nice to know there was no trouble checking in, however the room was filthy, there was no towels and it was terribly loud. It seems that something was wrong internally because a loud banging/clunking noise came from the walls. Well the free wifi didn't work, told the front desk and they had no idea how to fix it. The heat didn't work in the room so we froze all night. It was by far the smallest room I have ever seen. Called the front desk to complain about the issues and got a voicemail , which was never returned. There was dust lining the woodwork, the heater smelled like it might burn the place down, and the room smelled like old mac n' cheese. But it's really close to the airport and super cheap, so it was fine... Though next time I think I'll be willing to pay just a little bit more for a more comfortable experience.

Not good distance to rooms for disabled. At least 100 ft to any room. Do not allow pets, this was a previous owners policy. Though, thanks to staff, we were allowed to have our dog stay.

We were satisfied with our accommodations. It's not a 5 Star hotel nor did we expect to receive 5 Star service. For the price, the room was clean, the staff very friendly and approachable. The Maid didn't come in so our room didn't get cleaned and we got no fresh towels. This would have been fine had they told us and at least brought some coffee and towels. Quiet hotel in a quiet part of town (South Portland is outside the city limits). Staff is friendly and helpful. Room is clean and quiet. You will need a car to get around and there is not much going on in this part of town, but it is a great place to stay if you have plan when visiting Maine.

I will actually NEVER recommend this to anyone.On arrival.Room was non smoking, but it smelled of smoke, Room next door and across the passage BOTH smoking room. This hotel and the room were disgusting. It did not appear to be vacuumed. The bedspread had stains all over it. The walls had what appeared to be coffee, tea or soda thrown all over them. The shower had long dark hairs all through it. Both day and night managers were folding laundry behind the front desk because the "owner" won't hire enough cleaning […] people which there are only 2 housekeepers... We asked to be moved to another room where the shower curtain rod was half ripped out of the wall so the curtain couldn't keep water from splashing all over the floor. The internet didn't work. The room was overall ok. There was a used wash cloth behind the dresser. Wire hangers from a previous guest in the closet, mold on the shower curtain and you could see the build up of soap scum in the shower. The beds were to firm for my liking but thats a personal preference.

The bathroom was full of mold, the shower curtain rod was broken and the curtain could not stay up, the wall-paper in the bathroom was peeling off, the fire alarm went off at 7h30 am and the firemen arrived (some troubles with the pipes..), our room door was left open ALL DAY by the maid after she cleaned up exposing our luggage to anyone while we were […] away for the day, for breakfast: you get warm milk, very bad coffee, warm OJ, cheerios and cornflakes...no toast as no electricity after the fire incident...and they are the only hotel I know who do not have peanut butter cups for the kids....apparently they can't offer that very basic thing due to allergies...I honestly think they can't afford peanut butter!! All this for the price of a night at the Sheraton!!! Insane....highway robbery....but we had no choice...it was the only hotel with a room that week-end and our camping gear was all wet. Läs mer

We came to portland Maine for a good friends wedding. We chose super 8 for the price alone, but when we arrived at one o'clock we entered the lobby to dirty linens piled on the floor and a woman and her young daughter at the front desk eating subway. We were rudely told none of the rooms were clean yet and we could come back at 3, an hour before we […] needed to leave for the wedding. Once checked in, we got to our room to notice stains on the walls and no clean towels. The next morning at 8am we were awoken to fire alarms and had to stand outside for an hour for the fire department to check the premises. Once back in our room, we had no hot water for the next several hours and had to take a cold shower. We were not expecting anything special but this was rediculous! inexpensive rate. obvious cutbacks in housekeeping and maintenance. we requested no housekeeping because we were initially satisfied with the cleanliness of the room and also brought our own towels and linens. there was a communication break down betwen staff and housekeeping to honor the no housekeeping request because the housekeepers were russian […] on a temporary work program and did not understand. needless to say, our towels that we brought were picked up by houisekeeping never to be seen again, the staff did reimburse us with cash which did cover the value of the towels. the staff was friendly but seemed over worked and stresed with an overwhelming amount of complaints from their customers. did not even attempt to have the breakfast. there is no wifi available even though it is listed as such. a local advised us to travel to a nearby mcdonald's and access their wifi in their parking lot. the missing w in the welcome to super 8 was a case of foreshadowing at its best.
