Hotell Sunset Marquis Hotel and Villas - West Hollywood

Nice neighborhood, beautiful large property in the city. Loved the open air restaurant, cool lobby bar (formerly the whiskey bar). Lots of art & rock energy with the recording studio on site, but not pretentious. Villas the way to go.

I advise you to not stay anywhere else on your next visit to WeHo! This place rocks (literally) upon check-in I was greeted by very friendly staff that was informative about the hotel and its grounds. My room was on the ground level which didn't have a view, but, had direct access to the pool which was nice since this last weekend was what we call pre-summer […] here in SoCal ;) The room was a good size suite and very clean. I was intrigued by a review I had read about a recording studio so I went exploring the 3.5 acres of stunning property. There are 2 pools a restaurant called 'The Restaurant' (which has a jaw-dropping Sunday Brunch spread, EVERY SUNDAY) and a really cool bar called 1200. For those with children or big spenders the Villas are tucked behind the restaurant. These magnificent suites are surrounded by a canopy of plush gardens and aromatic flowers. While exploring the premises I stumbled upon the recording studio, it's fun to find this place since it's separate from the hotel and they seem to keep it a secret so I'll let you explore! SHH, but a lot of the top recording artists have and do record here!! After enjoying a couple rounds of drinks provided by the hotel I took a walk up to Sunset Blvd. The hotel is a block away from the strip so enjoying the sights is easy! The location was unbelievable and the room exceeded my expectations. The people were very nice and I would recommend this hotel to everybody. I enjoyed my stay very much. It felt like I was at home. Thanks again.

Absolutely a 5 star experience! Perfect location in the middle of West Hollywood, yet a quiet oasis just off the strip, peaceful and resort style. The grounds were impeccable, the staff could not have been friendlier or more attentive. Great rock star spotting hotel. This will be my one and only LA destination going forward!

Hotel is very good. room was clean and very spacious. only problem was the elevator was really slow and occasionally not working, but location is great.

I would give it 3 1/2 stars out of four today. It seems to be trying to a bit too hip. And thats very apparent with the people I saw walking around the lobby as s well. Still the rooms are great and the pool area is tops and the overall service is wonderful?

Great Hotel, Staff, and location. I prefer the older part of the hotel, by the front desk. Rooms are large. The staff is great. The location in West Hollywood is perfect.

Overall very disappointing, as we had stayed in another WeHo hotel closer to Berverly Hills and expected the same kind of fun and sun and decent service. Not so. The room was supposed to have a balcony. It did, looking onto a building right next door. The room was large and well decorated in Pottery Barn modern, but it was really dark. Probably the […] villas are nice, but the main building feels slightly dismal and dated for the price charged. The bar looked interesting, parking impossible without valet, and not really centrally located. Other WeHo hotels at the same price point offer more amenities, better rooms, and closer proximity to good restaurants and shops. Overall never again. Läs mer

This place is my home away from home. First class all the way. Only issue is that the elevator kept breaking down.

Walking distance to House of Blues!

my sister and I stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks in august. it is a lovely hotel in an great location in west hollywood. the staff were lovely and the service was excellent at the hotel.there were 2 very good size pools and gardens surrounding the hotel.the hotel is close to restaurants and nightclubs so going out in the evenings was very easy. will […] be back again! Great location. beautiful grounds. Feels very hip. Our reservation was for a suite, but it was a bit dark, dated, fairly plain. "Vintage" as the bellhop said. Lots of space, but it felt like an old hotel. We checked out a Jr. Villa and the difference was like night and day. High ceilings, newly remodeled, much nicer atmosphere. We'll be back!

Easily one of my favorite hotels in the world. The ambiance of the villas (think Hawaii, with Birds of paradise and palms and trees everywhere) is otherworldly when you realize that you're 100 yards off of Sunset. Restaurant serves up outstanding food. Bar 1200 is the perfect spot to cozy up with a significant other and enjoy a cocktail or two to start […] off, or cap, your night. The villas themselves are incredible, with spacious bathrooms, outstanding decor, and beds that feel like clouds. Can't say enough good things about my stay. The hotel was great. Quiet and secluded yet close to everything. Impeccable service and real attention to details. Have reccommended it to friends who have already stayed there and loved it. They have made it hard for me to consider staying anywhere else when in town.

They seem a little cocky about their hollywood location, and their C list celebrity past patrons. Within 90 minutes of checking in staff knocked on our door 3 times! Just let me relax please!
