Hotelet överträffade våra förväntningar! Ett litet minus för högt pris på frukosten, borde finnas ett billigare alternativ. För övrigt bra service! Mvh Svante

Bra läge ! Utsikt över förbjudna staden! Hjälpsam personal om än engelskakunskapen inte är den bästa! Nära till en väldigt smidig tunnelbana! Under hundra kronor i taxikostnad från flygplatsen !

Rent och fint hotell. Grymt bra läge med närhet till tunnelbana och centrala delar av Beijing. Personalen var hjälpsam och pratade bra engelska. Det som drar ner är en tråkig bar och hutlöst dyra priser på mat och dricka.

Rent och fräscht hotell med bra läge. Ett kvarter från himmelska fridens torg och den förbjudna staden. Ett bra hotell för några dagar i Peking. Hade ingen egen dator med oss varpå internetanslutningen i rummet inte kunde provas och således helt onödig. Använd inte hotellets businesscenter. Det är riktgt långsamt och svindyrt i svenska mått. Uppsök […] istället internetcafe. Akta er för att förlänga vistelsen via hotellets egen reception. Hutlösa priser. Boka alltid denna typ av hotell via webben. Läs mer

Mycket fint hotell med bra läge nära Förbjudna staden, Himmelska fridens torg, shopping gata, tunnelbana. Lite höga priser i restaurangen om man som vi pga ösregn (skyfall) tvingas stanna på hotellet och äta en kväll. Internetuppkoppingen i hotellets business center var väldigt långsam och seg.

Rekommenderas varmt. Nära till allt: Förbjudna staden, gågator (shopping), himmelska fridens torg, samt tunnelbana. Tunnelbanan som ligger närmast hotellet är pekings röda bana (linje 1). Den är alltid fullspäckad. Med det är bara att tränga sig in. Annars är den blåa linje 2 (circle line) att bättre alternativ. Rummen var av hög standard med bra […] service. Pianobar med levande musik. Käkade aldrig på hotellet men finns mycket kring liggande matställen (gågatan). Jag käkade mest på lokalställen billigt och gott, samt enkelt att beställa genom att peka på bilderna i menyer. Muren är ett måste. Ta tåget från nordvästra station (man tar sig dit med tunnelbana). Kostar kanske 40 yuan tur och retur per person. Taxi är smidigt och billigt under kvällar men under dagen är det långa köer och trafiken rör sig i snigelfart. Se till att åka på taximeter om ni inte kan komma överens om ett bra pris. Starttaxa är 11 yaun och därefter ökar det väldigt långsamt. Taxigubbarna (såg dock 2 kvinnliga chaufförer) ska kunna engelska, det är lag på det. Fast de gör lite som de vill och vägrar prata engelska, lite som fransmännen. Mellan hotellet och flygplatsen ska ni inte betala mer än 200 yuan. De kommer kanske vis tabeller på att det kommer kosta si och så mycket och även de har en "shufflebus" utan taximeter betala bara 200. Betala in mer än 200 yuan. :-) Vi tåg en taxi med taximeter och då kostade det strax under 100 yuan, men man vet aldrig med trafiken, kan sluta på en betydligt högre slant. Hoppas ni får en fin tid i peking för det hade jag. En sak som förvånad mig lite var att de flesta turisterna är den inhemska. Läs mer

Bra trevligt hotell, något slitet men ändå prisvärt. Bra service och trevliga rum - dock rekommenderas att ta rum mot Förbjudna staden. Rum mot innergård inte så trevliga. Fullständig men dyr frukostbuffé.

Hotel is clean (cleaned room sometimes twice a day!), nicely located close to the forbidden city and the square. Walking distance to forbidden city: max 3 minutes. Walking distance to sub-way: under 1 min. Taxis are always available outside, or on request. Good information desk with free maps. Ask for a card stated the hotel-name and address in Chinese, […] since the taxi-drivers usually do not understand English. Breakfast was not included in our room (and was very expensive!), so we ate out at one of the nearby shopping centers. Safe in the room. Nothing to complain about at all! ..very well located hotel and great value for the price...staff was very accommodating...only hestitation is that they only turn on the air conditioning in the summer...if you like the room cold this might not work for you in spring

To start with – many reviewers are concerned about the service mindedness and English language abilities of Chinese hotel staffs. In the Beijing Grand Hotel case, these abilities were excellent. To sum everything of importance up: We got three rooms on the 9th floor with direct view to the Forbidden City and the Tiananmen Square and the Hutongs (old […] city quarters). That's what we wanted and that's what we got, and it was simply wonderful and worth the extra money. Just imagine wakening up and have that view! Now, this is a luxury hotel and should be evaluated as one. Other luxury hotels in Beijing will be more luxurious and less worn (the hotel was NOT worn down, but worn) – but more expensive and without the view we got. So, you get what you pay for. Breakfast per person was like 20 euro per adult. For our group of 7 adults/children this would be like 100-120 euro each morning, which is slitely stiff when the whole party could eat well for 20 euro in local restaurants just outside. We stayed off other services at the hotel for the same reason, but, after all – we were not surprised of the price levels since we did choose a luxury hotel. The hotel can not really be critized for this. One room had a certain indoor smell, maybe created by smoking. We could easily live with that. The swimming pool was very nice with warm water (30 degrees celsius). Luxerious and included in our stay! Bring a swimming/bathing cap! Free (and slow) WiFi Internet connection in the lobby only. Would prefer this on my room. We appreciated the Chinese style in the hotel. If you want a western style hotel, go to a western country ;-) The facade of other luxury hotels on Chang An Avenue are more inviting. But, they do not have a such a traditional and wonderful portal. Beware that this hotel actually is located on the outskirts of the Forbidden City. You can hardly find a more central location. The hotel looks like a 5 star hotel, but when you get down to it, the actual service simply doesn't live up to that rating. Here are a few anecdotes... One morning my wife and I went out to go see the city, and asked the doorman to get us a taxi. My wife speaks Mandarin, so there was no problem with communication. He said no, that he wouldn't do that […] for us. This was unexpected, especially at a hotel that claims 5 stars. One day when we got back from touring the city, we found the hallway from the elevator to our room filled with tarps, painters, buckets of paint and wet paint everywhere. The fumes were intense and I didn't want to get paint on my clothes, but there was no other way to get to our room. The painting went all the way to our door, so we had some fumes in the room as well. When I complained about the paint, they were very apologetic and sent a large fruit plate to the room. I was ready to forgive and forget until we checked out. They gave me a printout that had already converted the currency from Chinese Yuan to US Dollars. The rate was favorable to them, not to me. I wanted them to charge me in Chinese Yuan so that my bank and credit card company could give me a more favorable conversion rate. They told me that the charge was made in Chinese Yuan even though the page in front of me clearly listed the transaction currency as USD. They refused to do anything to change it, saying that the US Dollar amount was just " for information purposes". Before leaving they made me sign a piece of paper that said, "I declare that I have been offered a choice of payment currency and my choice is final. I understand that the currency conversion is not provided by VISA." The statement on the invoice is obviously false, but I couldn't get out of the hotel without signing, and I didn't want my wife and I to miss our flight. A very nice hotel, close to all amenities. Only about 100 metres away from the subway station. It was slow season during my stay so the hotel was really quiet. Staff speak good English and professional. Will definitely stay here again.

The hotel was nice, and the staff was always very friendly. The location is also great, being "in the middle" of everything! Can't go wrong with this hotel.

Very nice location, right between WangFuJing and the Imperial Palace. Room is well equipped and staffs are friendly.

Really goodwill location, close to for forbidden city just around the corner. No breakfast included is bad as the price then is 180rmb

Wonderful hotel-- stayed at the peninsula as well and this hotel had a larger room with similar in-room amenities.

I enjoy the 3-day stay in Grand Beijing Hotel. It's Great! I wish I could come back for the second time. More power and I hope others will feel the same as I do.

Good location, but there are better hotels next to this one. It is not very western friendly.

Had a great stay in this hotel. The room is very clean and well appointed. Good breakfast buffet, although it does get a bit monotonous. They have someone to cook omelets to order. The best part of this room is its proximity to the metro and the oriental mall shopping district. Booked this hotel for well below what amount asked for as a walkin. Excellant value. 5 star quality, 5 minute walk to subway along with main down town siteseeing.

The Hotel provide ample service to guess and a very traditional Chinese decoration. They have a Terrace on their roof top that can overlook to the Tineman Square as well as Forbidden City but is has been closed to General Public since 2008 Oylimpic, this is a very disappointing setup and the Hotel should remove it form their promotion literature.

This is a good location for leisure travel. Room overlooked the Forbidden City. Within walking distance to many attractions and subway. Would stay again if we go back to China.

I stayed at this hotel twice during a trip to China. It really is grand, literally next to the Forbidden City in th heart of Beijing. Service is outstanding - friendly, efficient, helpful. We got upgraded to a Palace View room on both occasions. The rooms are furbished in what I'd call a traditional style - and whilst it probably hasn't been refurbished […] in a while, you can tell that everything is of good quality as it doesn't feel overly worn. The roof top bar has been shut down though I'm not sure whether this was permanent. This was a shame as I really liked the idea of cocktails looking over the Forbidden City. Its one of the few hotels in Beijing that has a swimming pool too. The atrium bar is often taken over by weddings (both stays) but that wasn't a huge problem as there are better bars in other parts of the city. Läs mer

Professional staff, beautiful room, quite lavish actually, worth twice the price. And twice is what you'll pay (or more) if you decide to extend your stay - their rack rate is a lot higher than from the travel site.

Spent four nights at the Grand Hotel in Beijing - one block from Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. 'Modern traditional' 5 star hotel. Exceptional amenities and service, honestly could not be faulted. Even enjoyed one day of blue sky ... a rarity in smoggy Beijing. Great stay. und oberdrein hat das Zimmer gestunken.. Für ein 5 Sterne Hotel nicht angemessen. Nur die Lage - die ist top. Frühstück war katastrophal, als ob es 3 Tage schon rumgestanden hätte.

El hotel es antiguo pero está bien conservado. Las habitaciones que dan a la Ciudad Prohibida tienen unas vistas que compensa la diferencia de precio. A mis hijos "los castigué" a una habitacion "sin vistas" y era magnifica, igual que la mía, muy amplia, con baño de marmol. He encontrado caro la relación calidad-precio en el desayuno, ventitantos euros […] por un servicio de Buffet. Pedí que me imprimieran las tarjetas de embarque para mi regreso y me cobraron 14 euros por ocho fotocopias. Para comer comida occidental hay que ir a la calle peatonal Wuan Fu JIng, que está a 200 mts. del hotel, y en los sotanos de cualquiera de los centros comerciales hay cafeterías, restaurantes baratos, caros y muy caros. Super placering meget tæt af den forbudte by. Det er ikke det bedste 5 stjernede hotel i verden, men det er da OK. Kun kablet langsom internet på værelset. Morgenmadsbuffeten er dyr uden at være særligt god.

屋上のバーレストランは今年も通年閉鎖のままで、せっかくの故宮の眺望は窓越しに見るだけで、テラスに出られません。実にもったいない。友人の話では去年も開いていなかったと… 故宮、王府井に近く、その近辺で遊ぶ方には最適でしょう。私はキャンペーン価格が安かったので泊まってみました。部屋、施設、レストラン、室内プールなど皆、良かったです。　豪華な館内の吹き抜けも素敵です。 由緒ある有名ホテルにキャンペーン価格で泊まれて満足でした。

We stayed in a total of 3 hotels while we we're in China. I have to say that this one was the best of the three. The staff was very friendly and spoke english very well. They helped us with booking train tickets and ordering taxi's. For breakfast you could choose between a buffet and a la carte. The food tasted great and was presented nicely, although […] it was a little expensive. The location of the hotel was perfect. There's a little park next to the hotel where you can walk and relax. There's a big shopping street closeby and the forbidden city is just a 5 minute walk from the hotel. All in all very pleased! Läs mer

All in all very satisfied. Good clean hotel, friendly staff, do their best to speek english and help you. I got the room I wanted with the perfect view over the forbidden city. Only complain (but this I knew before I made the reservation), was that I had to pay for the breakfast, and I found that price much too high. Hotel was quite old and not renovated in recent years. Sound proofing was also poor, I could hear when people were speaking in hallway or neighbor rooms. I would say this hotel was in my opinion3-4 stars, but not five.

I am hard on this hotel as for a hotel of this standing, certain things shouldn't exist : like big oily skin smear on the big window giving on the Forbidden City; calling the housekeeping department who have to be told what to do; being harassed to give my passeport when i have explained that it is at the embassy and i have provided a copy; whol hotel […] very noisy on Sunday lunch and afternoon because of the wedding and party it hosts; movement of impatience from the reception manager ; not making a great effort for calling a taxi and not providing me with a taxi that will drive me properly to the train station (i know it's a Beijing thing but for hotels of this type, this shouldn't exist).... In other words very typical Beijing Chinese service, very pretentious and particular on certain unnecessary things (like accompanying you step by step to make copies and printing and fax) but with no efficiency... Very good chef but of course quite pricy The location is unbeatable though with beautiful view on the roof of the Forbidden city and the sunset, that's why i'm still recommending it Läs mer

La estancia en el hotel fue completamente satisfactoria. En aras de ser muy perfeccionista, diria que el desayuno es muy costoso en relacion a la propuesta. Esta ubicado en el mejor lugar de Beijing, cerca de los sitios de mas interes y con facilidades para el transporte.
