Hotell South Seas Hotel - Miami Beach

Vi var ett sällskap om 6 personer som var fördelat på 3 rum. Hotelets allmänna kvalitet var OK. Stora fördelen var hög service och närhet till allt. Hotelets poolområde var mycket bra. Poolen är uppvärmd och håller ca 24 grader. Mysig trädgård med hängmattor. Vi använde den ganska ofta och började några kvällar där. Närheten till havet var optimal och […] man kunde hyra solstolar, kostnad mellan $5-10/st. Rabattkopung erhålles från hotellet. Nära till Ocean Drive och Lincon Road. Allt inom promenadavstånd. Bil behövs om man skall shoppa på de större affärscentra, spela golf och utflykter. Perkeringsservice kostar ca $307dag. Då kunde man lämna och hämta bilen vilken tid på dugnet och obegränsat antal gånger. Frukost ingick men höll ganska låg standard. Höll på med att byta ut alla heltäckningsmattor. behövdes. Bra läge, bra rum, nära stranden. Saknar kylskåp! Hade havsutsikt men såg inte mycket på tredje våningen då palmer m.m. skymde. Heltäckningsmattorna borde bytas ut!

Plus: läget direkt vid stranden, pool liten men ren och ok, nära till gågatan Lincoln Road Mall med massor av restauranger och affärer, trevlig personal, frukostbuffé ingår i priset, gratis strand/poolhanddukar finns i massor, rent. Minus: kostar extra 29 USD för parkering men det verkar det göra överallt, väldigt slitet hotell med sunkiga heltäckningsmattor […] överallt. Bra hotel, bra läge, nära centrum, bad och bra swimmingpoolanläggning. Allt bra förutom heltäckningsmattor och städning.

South Seas - Ett hotell som möjligen har sett sina bästa år och känslan är att rummen och interiören i allmänhet är i behov av en upprustning. Men det är fräscht och städat på rummet och i badrummet. Den första känslan vägs dessutom med råge upp av det fantastiska läget precis vid beachen och mitt i smeten på South Beach, en kort promenad från Ocean […] Drive eller till gågatan Lincoln Road. Dessutom serverar de en enkel men komplett frukost som är riktigt fräsch. Jag kan absolut rekommendera en vistelse på South Seas, kanske framförallt för dem som vill åt läget! Hotellet var enligt mina förväntningar efter att kollat på tidigare recensioner. Prisvärt för att ligga på South Beach. Ingen lyx, men det man behöver. (en ok madrass, rent, hyfsat frächt badrum, tillgång till nätet, laddare till ipod i väckarklocka, ganska lungt på nätterna från stadens "vilda surr") Nära till allt, en pool nära till strand. The hotel is well situated just by the beach in a more quiet area, unless you get a window directly towards the street. It is not in the heat of Ocean Drive but within walking distance. Breakfast may at first seem to not be so much but compared to other us breakfasts this is a really good one and much more than expected at first glance. The South Seas Hotel is perfectly located with easy access to the beach, close to stores and places to eat. Behind the hotel is the swimming pool, small private sandy area with a gate to the beach. The hotel entrance is very small and easy to miss driving by, however, there is an area to park while dropping off luggage.The people are very nice, but […] the lobby could use some updating. There is one front elevator which is very small (there is also one elevator at the back of the hotel), and the upstair hallways need new carpets and something to brighten them up.The rooms are small with just enough room for the bed and desk (TV was on our desk). The bathroom is also small, but adequate. The bed was harder than we like, but the room looks nice when you go in, with nice bedding and what appeared to be new carpet in the room we stayed in.The breakfast area, located by the hotel bar and pool, is very nice and consisted of boiled eggs, yogurt, toast, English Muffins, fresh fruit, fruit juices, coffee, etc. We enjoyed our stay, although we could have used a more comfortable bed. It was close to our son's condo and the back gate and walkway made it easy to travel back and forth between the two places. It is also close to a car rental location. It is kind of old hotel. Very good located closed to shops and beach. The beach amenities has to be paid and the valet parking take to long to bring the car. The rooms are clean. The breakfast is good enough for this type of trips. The pool area it is very nice. But the price it is too much for what is received.

Great location, right on the beach, close to Lincoln Road Mall. However, bed was hard as a rock, rooms definitely need upgrading.

location is great. nice pool and access to beach. rooms are small and bathrooms very small. rooms are a plain, square, white room. no attempt at design. get what you pay for.

The rooms are very tiny and the bathroom barely fits one person. The walls are paper and I mean paper thin. For the cost per night, there are better places to stay, even if you have to spend a couple more dollars!

The South Seas hotel was clean, comfortable and the location could not be more convenient to the convention center. No coffee makers in the rooms as listed but free coffee and continental breakfast downstairs each morning. Would highly recommend it.

Has to improve a lot. Breakfast. Attention in the lobby. Room , the tv, the phone and the security box.

We loved our overnight stay at South Seas - we are Australians and arrived 7am, from an overnight flight. South Seas had us in our room by 7:30 - they offerred us breakfast whilst we were waiting. Brilliant service - location on South Beach was great - we had picture perfect weather and pool area beautifull - hammocks a great feature. We had a 9 day stay at this hotel and the location can't be beat. The staff is also super nice. The rooms could use some updating and the facilities are not super-plush but the hotel is very clean and well maintained. I would definitely go back.

Very good location and you have the impression of living in the owners cashcow, rundown with very poor breakfast on plastic plates. Though very kind staff.

The location was great and the staff very friendly and helpful. We stayed only one night on route to a cruise. I would not recommend this hotel for longer than one night because it is in desperate need of of updating and is run down. Also the pool area is not one I would want to spend much time in. The hallways and rooms are in need of some updating. They're a bit outdated. The rooms are decent but feel like motel rooms; they're clean but not much else. However, the pool area in the back is quite nice and well maintained. There's also a great little sand area with hammocks.

Hotel is located close to everything and on the beach. Great stay only problem was renting chairs on the beach. You need a ticket from the front desk and only can pay cash.

The hotel room was worn down. Holes in the carpet, noises from the toilet and noises from the back alley. The staff was very nice and the valet parking worked like a charm. The room itself seemed fairly clean and the location of the hotel is perfect.

Great Location and very friendly staff. If your opt for the less expensive room "City View", it's actually a view of the building next door that's five feet away. My room was clean except for the sugar ants that trailed from the desk to the bathroom. Out dated bathroom.

Hotel looked nice online but it seems an updated pool and lobby area masks the fact the rooms are tired and dirty. Staff are more interested in their phones and helping you. My wife and I loved the hotel. We had stayed in another hotel called Catalina across the road from South Seas before. South Seas is quieter compared with Catalina. And the Pool and service are better.

Great location and great access to the beach and to shopping and dining. Friendly staff. Everything was great except the bed was a little hard for my taste. I would recommend it.

The South Seas was a nice spot - clean small rooms, great pool / bar area and direct beach access. And its on South Beach of course which is tough to beat.

Great location...walking distance to the convention center and right on the beach. Close to shopping and dinning. It is an older hotel so don't expect The Ritz or W, but you won't pay their prices either. Good value.

central to everything

This was our second trip to Miami Beach and our first time staying at the South Seas Hotel. We stayed at another hotel on the same block last time and wanted to try something new. Although our stay at the South Seas Hotel was satisfactory, we thought that the hotel we stayed at last time was a little better with a larger more luxurious lobby and better […] pool/recreation area behind the hotel. South Seas will remain as a "second choice" alternative for any future travel to Miami Beach and we would recommend it as such to others. Two negative aspects. First one was that the bathroom had no exhaust fan to remove airborn moisture during showering so you had to open the bathroom window (that had no sceen) to get air circulation. Second was that the adjoining hotel's dumpsters were almost right below our 3rd floor window, which was only bothersome in the morning when the garbage hauler came to empty the dumpsters. Luckily, we only heard the movement of the dumpsters to the street so we did not hear the noise from the truck and our airconditioner helped to drown out the noise. With any hotel on the beach in Miami Beach that is close to Lincoln Road and the northern end of the South Beach section, you pay for location. Rooms and especially bathrooms are far smaller than you would find at your average low to mid-priced hotel along an average interstate highway. But then again, we were there to be at the beach and enjoy the area, not spend all day in the room. Läs mer

Hotel is within walking distance from LINCOLN ROAD MALL and OCEAN DRIVE. Great location. Older building as is most in this area. Rooms are very small. Very inconvenient that the elevator was not working & valet takes too long.

The hotel was AWESOME! Location, Location, Location!!! Was beautiful!!! Only wish the front desk Staff would have informed us at check in, the "Hotels Section" of lounge chairs and umbrellas at the beach COST $30 for 2 chairs and an umbrella! Not comped by hotel, not even a mention of discount card! Who brings money to the BEACH??

Loved this property...very clean, staff very nice..and GREAT LOCATION on Miami Beach

The grounds including pool, bar area, and patio are lovely and well kept. And the hotel's proximity to the stunning white sands beach of MIami is fantastic. The room, however, was a bit weary. The carpeting looked out dated and the walls were stucco-ish and not very attractive. The hotel should replace all the rugs with more stylish modern rugs, like […] the 1st floor. Service was minimal. Unfortunately, on weekends the hotel next door, The Marseilles, blasts house music at ear splitting decibals which makes enjoying the lovely hammocks and grounds impossible. Good location on South Beach. Rooms reflected the age of the hotel. Beds were comfortable and the free breakfast was good.

The hotel is not filthy but it isn't clean either. It could use a thorough cleaning with attention to detail. It is close to needing a renovation. I wouldn't stay here again. The staff was friendly and they showed me (3) others rooms the next day after check in (having no other rooms available at the time I arrived). We had a very nice room, very clean. The hotel had consistent breakfast every morning, quiet, nice staff, basically we had a great vacation. If I have to make a complaint the only thing I can think of is that the drain in our bathroom sink was a little slow...that's it! It really was a great deal. Enjoy it!

I have stayed there quite a few times before and been disappointed with the rooms because they are small (old Art Deco) and view the next door hotel which seems very close or were on the street side and thus very noisy. The hotel is right in the centre of the action, close to shops and next to the beach. This was ideal for our short break over the New Year. The hotel itself is a bit tired in places, a lick of paint is needed to brighten it up. The noise levels are quite bad due to thin walls and lack of double glazing but nothing that a set of ear plugs cant fix. There […] was also some noise from surrounding hotels but this being the holiday season this was only to be expected. Our rooms were cleaned daily and fresh towels provided. The complimentary breakfast is basic but more than adequate - juice, coffee, pastries, cereals, yoghurts, fruit and cooked meats. Most hotels in this area would charge you extra for this but at the South Seas it is included. The pool area is nice, but needs some refurbishing, the fitness room has a treadmill and bike! The hammocks are a nice touch and there are sunbeds on the beach and a small drinks stand! Beach towels are also provided so you dont need to pack them! The pool bar is very relaxed and has a happy hour, drinks are not badly priced(for Miami Beach) and the food is really good. A great selection of snacks and meals at reasonable prices. The very best thing about this hotel is the staff. All the people we came into contact with were very friendly and helpful. Reception were very well informed and able to advise us about transportation and various other queries we raised. Miami Beach itself is a place that doesnt wake up till late morning. shops generally dont open before 11 but they do stay open late. Lincoln Rd, Collins Ave, Washington Ave all have a good selection of shops. If you are looking for designer wear you need to go to Bal Harbour shopping centre - its amazing!!! For designer clothes at outlet prices jump on a bus to Dolphin Mall, its much cheaper!!! We also booked a few trips with a tour company on Washington Ave, we paid $65(£40) for a trip to the Everglades plus a City tour plus a Boat trip. All 3 trips were excellent and great va Läs mer

Room was dirty, mold on walls, garbage can not emptied, long wait to even get a room-despite a reservation, rude front desk lady, bed was as hard as nails, shower and sink had drainage problems, when I called to notify them, nothing was done. I will never stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

Exellent location in front of the beach and near all the good restaurants and stores in South Miami Beach. The reception , lounge and pool area are very good but the rooms need an upgrade.

The rroms are lousy. We reserved a "Superior double" which was said to include two queen beds with facilities such as coffee machine, minibar etc. None of this was found in the room which by the way was just as well, since it wouldn't have been room to qsueeze it into the little tiny place. The room had dirty carpets with lots of dust and peanuts! and […] stains evenywhere, hot water tap in wash basin did not work at all. The smell of detergent didn't fool me.
