Nice hotel and a good location let down badly by the condition of it's bed, mattress and bathroom. The bed was so hard and uncomfortable that we hardly got any decent sleep and arose having stiff necks and sore backs. The bathroom was outside the bedroom and down 4 stairs. This hotel was very clean and the service was impeccable. It is conveniently located within 2 mins from the Gloucester tube station; near the hotel you can find nice restaurants and fast food, Starbucks, Tesco etc.. Highly recommended!

Overall great experience at the hotel. I don't need much but the room, while small for a single, was more cozy than cramped. Location is a short walk to the Gloucest Tube station and lots of fast food or sit down resturaunts within a couple of blocks. Water to the hotel went out and the hotel never notified anyone. They never distributed water or attempted to mitigate the impact on the guests that were there. As a matter of fact they continued to take in new guests as others were leaving for obvious reasons.

The Radisson Edwardian's location has a terrific location for access to and from Heathrow via Underground, is near the V&A plus a few more attractions, and transportation to any London attraction is excellent. Rooms are smallish and a bit worn, but the hotel is basically quite comfortable, with tea maker, fridge, iron, wifi, and so on. The limitations […] would be very easy to overcome, but after 2 stays, I'm not sure the will is there. Here are a few examples: my early request for a somewhat larger room because of my physical condition was accepted but not honored. Problems with internet access took 12 hours to resolve, and "explanations" did not make sense. The check-in process took a very long time, with many repetitive questions. My experience at this hotel was totally positive. Its location is a big plus—across the street from the Gloucester Rd. Station and a Gloucester Rd. Starbucks! There is also a Boots pharmacy and a grocery store. But location was not the only plus. There were many others. It had handsome, heavy, light-concealing drapes that were appropriate to the vintage building, a good, workable desk and conveniently placed electrical plugs. The hotel is a renovated mansion—and has been lovingly restored. combines the traditional (the lovely dark wainscoting and period-appropriate wallpaper in the halls, the extensive use of marble, etc.) with the convenience of the new—a young, bright, helpful staff and free WiFi in the rooms—along with a small, concealed refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom was a joy—done completely in marble—floors and walls. The bathtub itself was deep and long. The shower feature was conveniently placed and worked well. The bar was warm and welcoming, with a fireplace—and the restaurant does wonderful things with grilled Scottish salmon, seared scallops, and a butternut squash salad. Room service gets five stars. No, it is not a boring, cookie-cutter hotel, but the service and décor are exquisite. It reminds me of the wonderful hotels I stayed in and loved when I was doing a term in England many years ago as a student. I’d like to add that –when it was time to go—my taxi was waiting, the bell man came quickly and all was arranged to perfection. Yes, the rooms are small, but this is London! I got a terrific rate on the room through hotels.com and I spent most of my time exploring the city, so the size of the room really didn't matter. It was very clean, safe, and the staff were very helpful, that's all I cared about. Highly suggest using the South Kensington tube station to get around the city […] instead of the closer Gloucester station due to the lack of escalators, unless you don't mind waiting for the lift. it is very close to the underground station. for me , it is most important because this is my first time to london. people are nice and i am very appreciate the breakfast there. it is so nice . room is ok , size not big but it is normal in london. price is quit reasonable . i like it .

Hotel near Imperial College,very good and nice stuff.

This hotel is a cosy hotel in the old fashion stile, with a nice bar. It has a good breakfast and a fair dinner The room is tiny but nice only thing I did not like, was the laut music in the restaurant. Why have music in a restaurant at all?

REVH is going to be my first choice for my next visit to london. Its lcation is perfect and pepole are friendly and helpfull,and the surrounding is nice.

good value for a london hotel. close to museums. clean rooms although a bit small. traffic noise from the street may be a problem. overall excellent place and will probably stay here again but will request a room facing away from the street.

This hotel was fantastic value for money! Beautiful hotel, fantastic attentive staff, and ideally positioned for all of Londons sites with a tube station 2 mins walk from the door! I would highly recomend this hotel!

Had a one night stay here. Arrived earlier than expected but could still check in and my room was ready. Small single room, but comfortable, clean, and quiet. Used the Hotel wifi, but could not send some files, it may have had a file size restriction. I did not have breakfast due to commitments, but a waitress got me an excellent coffee quickly before […] I left. The reservation was somehow messed up. We were given a twin bed room versus a double. The hotel corrected this, but the explanation that the reservation system does not work with the hotel system was lame. When checking out the desk failed to call a taxi -- we were on a tight timetable. The double room we moved to was VERY small.

This is the second Edwardian I've stayed at in London (the other being the Hampshire on Leicester Square). While not quite as good a location for dining, nightlife, etc, this hotel is far superior in terms of its condition, size of the rooms, and cost. It was O.K.

My father and I arrived on holiday. I had rented a power chair and had a walker but decided that a wheelchair would be better for tours, etc. I then borrowed their wheelchair which was nice of them. Upon arriving back at the hotel, the wheelchair would no go thru the hall, GOT STUCK WITH MY FATHER IN IT. The problem is the attitude of your manager. […] I then asked for you to obtain a smaller wheelchair (at my expense-which was fine), they did not bother. I asked again the next day and was ignored. I would of done it myself but did not have cell and was out on bus tours.. I had found out that for the train I needed it as well and had to pay $250.00 extra for new train tickets (wheelchair vs reg seat). I'm back in London in 4 days, staying at Millenimum Bailey's. Oh yes, smallest room on the planet, and they did not change a soiled sheet. They don't change the sheets unless you put a card out, but they don't tell you this according to the manager, so you just can guess. GO TO ANOTHER HOTEL, LOTS IN THE AREA.. Läs mer

Service was good, close to the Tube and sights, comfortable and clean. But the hotel was unusual. There aren't the standard amenities like ice machines or coffeemakers. But you do need to use your hotel key to turn on the lights, and I had to stand in the amazingly long bathtub to reach the tub controls due to this strange shower/tub combo. Other reviewers […] mentioned the long trek through the corridor and the fire doors to reach the rooms. All in all, the hotel seems to be trying to be unique and cater to a certain crowd. We would stay here again. Wonderful location to the Tube, restaurants and shopping. Clean rooms! The customer service we received was outstanding. The staff were helpful with questions, directions, and other services. Two cons, but not deal breakers...the first is the computers in the hotel's business center. Very slow connection. At one point the computer […] sent a message that it was too old to open a small file. The second con is that the mattresses are starting to wear. We still slept OK, but the mattresses were pretty hard and starting to become lumpy. We were in a twin room. Over all our stay was great! We would had given a rating of 5 out of 5, but feel for the high caliber of the hotel, the computers and mattress situation should be updated. So we opted to rate the hotel as a 4 out of 5. We look forward to returning back to the Radisson Edwardian Vanderbilt Hotel on our next trip. Läs mer

Great place to stay. The staff was very friendly, helping get our bearings in the city and checking in to make sure we were happy with the room. The room was nice and the location fairly convenient.

We arrived after a 24 HR flight from Australia, we caught the underground from heathrow, straight to Gloucester station walked up stairs crossed the rd round one corner and there it was. Brilliant. They helped us with booking the theatre, tours etc. My ten year old and I were very happy.

A great hotel with friendly professional staff. Nice bar with plush leather armchairs and sofas. Good restaurant and breakfast. Nice afternoon tea. My stay here was enjoyable - I was here on business. My room was on the small side, as expected, but comfortable and clean. The bathrooms are quite nice. Having a comfortable lobby/lounge with wireless is very convenient and the hotel is just steps away from the Gloucester Road tube station, so its very convenient to almost everything. Our experience with the Vanderbilt (as most locals refer) was quite positive. Apparently this building was formerly a London residence of the Vanderbilt family, hence the name. The hotel was recently remodled and looked fresh and new in appearance. Our room was split level... we entered our hotel room into a small foyer and a door to the bathroom. Then […] up five steps to the bedroom. There were three of us and the room size was adequate for three. It was furnished with a king size bed and a sofa with two twin size pull out beds. I gave comform a rating of 4 as my king bed was hard; there were not any clothes drawers so we lived out of the suitcase for our time there; and i wish there were more lighting options. All the lights are recessed and seven (six in room; one in foyer) of the ten are wired together... meaning it was all or nothing. The remaining three (bathroom; left bedsdze; and right bedside) were on their own switch. But even then if you wanted to sit in bed with just one of the bed lights, it was glaring down on you like spot light. They need perhaps one table lamp with a low wattage bulb. There is a small closet with quite a number of hangers equipped with a trouser press, iron, and ironing board. The foyer was the great place to keep luggage and shoes out of the way. Our room was located on the back side of the building facing the mews and was very quiet. We had the window opened from time to time and even then outside noise was minimal. For food the hotel has a restaurant and if you walk to the right upon exiting the hotel you'll find a few restaurants on Cromwell Road or exit the hotel to the right on Cromwell, go left on the first street called Gloucester and there you'll find a lot of dining options. Turning left out of the hotel you wont find any resturants on Cromwell Road for nearly a mile, then there's plenty. In between those restaurants and the hotel is the Museum of Natural History and the Albert and Victoria museum. And then about two miles fr Läs mer

Could'nt fault the room or bathroom, my room was round the back of the hotel where a constant noise outside from an air vent or other machine running all night kept me awake. My room did'nt include breakfast, but it was'nt a problem to find somewhere to eat. Was only here for one night. My only complaint is that they were working on interior modelling so a lot of poorly painted walls were exposed.

It was only an overnight but Terry who signed me in was polite and put me in a nice quiet back room. The hotel is still being re-decorated so the corridors look ugly (at least on my floor). The lobby is is nice and relaxing with newspapers to hand in the morning. I really liked the hotel, the staff were friendly and the location is great. There are a few thing I didn't like though; the size of the room was too small (single), the elevator was very slow and the ac wasn't cool enough.
