Hotell Rydges Kensington London - London

Jag fick bo i källaren där alla väggar var fuktskadade och där luften var dålig.

Allt var okej utom att vi låg och frös på nätterna. När vi bad om hjälp skulle de komma om fem minuter men efter en halvtimme var vi tvungna att gå och vi fick aldrig nån hjälp.

Helt ok hotell, betydligt bättre standard än många andra i London med samma klass. Bokade ett executive rum som kändes rymligt för att vara i London och hade mycket bra standard.

Fräscht hotell med bra läge. Dock ganska litet rum för att vara dubbelrum, men allt man behöver finns. Något störande AC. Bra frukostbuffe.

Fräscht och trevligt. Nära till T-bana. Enda nackdelen var att internetuppkoppling inte ingår. Rekommenderas!

Både hotellets läge samt skick överraskade oss väldigt positivt, rummet var nyligen renoverat och väldigt fräscht med ett fint badrum. Rummen är ganska små men inte så att det känns trångt. I kvarteren runtomkring finns alltifrån frukostställen, Starbucks, restauranger och snabbköp. Sen ligger Gloucester tunnelbanestation bara ett kvarter bort vilket […] är väldigt smidigt då man kan ta sig över hela London med max 1 byte med district/circle line. Kvarteret runt hotellet uppfattade vi som väldigt lugnt vilket är skönt när man ska sova men det var ändå nära till allt. Läs mer

Helt nyronverat (aug 2011) och väldigt fina rum! Extremt bra läge med nära till tunnelbana och bussar. Dock väldigt långsamt Internet, och en hiss som innebar lååånga väntetider. Vi bodde på 1a våningen men det fanns inga trappor och spenderade således många minuter varje gång, väntandes på hissen.

Fräscht och trevligt hotell med perfekt läge på Glocester Road, Kensington, med bara 100 m till t-bana. Personalen är trevlig och hjälpsam på alla sätt. För svenskar kan det vara bra att veta att frukost inte igår i rumspriset och hotellets frukost är svindyr med våra mått mätt. När vi provade den kostade en engelsk frukost 20 pund!

Mycket bra läge! Och trevlig personal, väldigt rent och snygga rum! frukosten var sådär men det är å andra sidan lite vad man får räkna med i England. Det är inte riktigt som vi är vana vid att en frukost är. Men over all mycket nöjd!

They have reconstruction in hotel. Lobby with old chairs, rooms are VERY small,old furniture... This is NOT four star hotel!

Mycket trevlig personal, sköna sängar och utom ordentligt god mat i resturangen. Nära till buss, tunnelbana och Taxibilarna rullar hela tiden. Faciliteterna på rummet täcker alla behov. Mycket nöjda med hela hotellet.

I booked the hotels for a recent business trip and I found the hotel very modern. The rooms were newly renovated and both large and clean. The staff was nice. I was very happy with the decision to stay there. we will come back.

We booked this hotel the night before checking in and were very pleased to have found such nice accomodation at short notice. It is very convenient for the tube, about 1 minute walk from Gloucester Road Station and within walking distance of the Natural History and Science museums even for a 4 year old. There was also a good selection of places to eat […] or buy food within a couple of minutes walk. Hotel, location, rooms, restaurant are plus!! Lack of attention from the staff in some cases doesn't match a hotel of this level. except for that, everything is great

The hotel was fine; a bit expensive for what it offered - everything was extra, the internet, breakfast, etc. The staff attitudes were generally poor; the waitresses in the restaurant used for breakfast were exceptionally unsmiling. The room was perfectly adequate, but too small to swing a cat without giving it a very significant headache!

Great hotel, Great place, great rooms. We were in a studio with lots of space. Other rooms are smaller. The only down point is that on Sunday's tere is not enough staff.

It was a BIG pleasure to stay at Your hotel. Honestly. Great location, the comfort (and design!)of the room- great. I hope to come again. Thank You.

Our stay was excellent until the moment we left. I had enquired about ordering a taxi to the station and quoted £24, despite the fact that the black cab we took from the station to the hotel only cost £16. I was told the concierge could flag down a black cab for us when we wanted one, so we duly asked him when we were ready to leave. Five minutes later […] he indicated our "car" had arrived and it was only as we got to it, when our bags were already inside that I realised it was a hire car! Instead of the £24 which the receptionist had quoted us he then charged £28 and had the cheek to say he hadn't any change! To add insult to injury he then tried to take us to Kings Cross instead of St. Pancras, insisting that trains only go to Europe from St. Pancras! In future I shall book my taxis on line beforehand! My third visit. Feels like home. Such a handy location. Competitive price. Was here for Royal Albert Hall concert this time. Comfortable snuggly bed and room, if the smallest yet. If they got any smaller there would be no room for the bed! - singles be warned - but hey, I like the place, you have everything you need and it's all brand new. Not sure […] I need the ironing board and rack in the wardrobe though as there is no room to hang clothes, and nowhere else to put said iron and board (handy hint: put it under the bed!) Rather struggled with that, but is a very minor gripe. I am sure I would be blissfully happy if I ever ironed anything! Läs mer

Easy to get to from Heathrow on the tube, less than a 100 meters from Gloucester Road station. Room was good, although 304 is adjacent to 2 housekeeping cupboards and a little noisy. Nice to be able to open a window. Modern and very clean bathroom, great size tv. Paying for wifi is expensive. Ok. Did not like the basement location of the rooms though

First time I had stayed at Rydges, booking it after having read reviews on Hotels.com. As it was competitively priced and walking distance from the Royal Albert Hall where we were attending a concert, I decided to go ahead. The hotel is just off Cromwell Road at the intersection with Gloucester Road which is convenient. It has a modern contemporary […] decor which is pleasant and relaxing. I had asked for a quiet room away from the lift (which was being refurbished until mid April 2012 so had to use service lift). I got one facing an inner small courtyard and a mews behind the hotel. When I entered the room the curtains were closed and as the sun was shining presumed it was not to heat up the room. However, when I opened them, there were no net or light inner curtains. I asked at reception and she said all rooms were like that. So you had to change with the curtains closed or in the bathroom. The bathroom was modern and clean with nice fruit themed/smelling toiletries. To be honest we didn't spend much time in the hotel or eat anything there so I can only judge the room. As the hotel is not new or purpose built but a conversion of houses, there is a lot of corridor noise and our twin room was on the small side with one bed right up close to the window. The doors to the rooms clunk noisily when you close them. This proved a problem for us as there were two groups of guests staying within a couple of rooms of each other across the corridor who returned after mîdnight and were constantly in and out of each others' rooms, slamming the doors and talking loudly in the corridor. At 03.00 a.m. I had enough and called reception. Either they stopped or by then I was too tired and must have fallen asleep. So, my overall experience was not ideal. Would I recommend it to others? Would I go back? Tricky. Amenities, decor, staff etc all good but if you get some noisy guests as I did then it might just ruin your stay unless you are someone who can sleep through anything. Although the service and staff were excellent, I was disappointed with the room, having booked a King Room all I can say is that the only thing King about it was the bed. The pictures in the website spread were all of the same room and I suspect these were from the Suite. There was no room to turn round. Really impressed with the location of the hotel, room was small but to be expected in London, but it was spotless and beautifully furnished. We didn't eat in the hotel but breakfast was great in the many near eateries Lovely hotel, lovely area - well worth it and I would stay there again

We had a terrific stay at the Rydges. We had booked the Kensington Suite and were thrilled with the size, cleanliness (the room felt brand new), and ammenities (2 large LCD televsions; separate shower and tub; etc.). The sofa bed was not the most comfortable mattress, but it was nice to have the extra bed. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and […] helpful. The hotel is undergoing renovations so getting to our room was a bit awkward as the lifts were not working appropriately. Even though we were on the first floor, we had to go upstairs and back down stairs to get to our room which was especially tricky with luggage. Hotel was amazing and very clean staff were very helpful and friendly. Only dissapointment was being charged for a travel adaptor for £10 even tho there wasn't one in the room and we wouldn't have needed it either as we didn't take any electrical goods with us.

Ideally located close to underground and buses, many pubs, restaurants and small shops. Clean and newly renovated in an old and charming building. The only negative was answers from the reception on how to travel to certain places, they seemed to have no idea, but gave many wrong advices. But over all we recommend it.

I had an excellent stay at the very recenently refurbished Rydges Kensington. My executive room was (by London standards) fairly big and the continental breakfast had a large selection and great coffee. The service was ok - a bit slow when asking for extra pillows etc, the wireless network horrible and the staff did nothing much to help out but I didn't […] have to pay for it when I complained afterwards. If you wish to live close to the Picadilly line towards Heathrow but still want to be close to the city and have nice surroundings I can really recommend this hotel! Läs mer

Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms small but well appointed with very comfortable beds. We requested a quiet room and our inward facing room was indeed really quiet. The bar closes at 11pm which is rather early if you're returning from a meal or the theatre and it would benefit from a real ale, ideally draught but alternatively bottled.

Stayed for 5 nights at the end of January. Fine, well equipped room. The surrounding neighbourhood is just lovely. Not too central, nor too outfar. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

We stayed here when visiting the Royal Albert hall - it's only 10 minutes walk so very convenient, also just around the corner from the Museums. The Lift was out of order (we used a tiny staff lift) and the bar turned us away at 10.50 as the barman had decided to close. Really nice little hotel, very close to tube, great for a place to sleep, but room small (but very lovely, and clean). Great place to stay if you plan on being out and about in London.

We found this to be an excellent hotel,very comfortable with friendly staff. We had an excellent english breakfast. It was very handy for the Royal Albert Hall which we were attending for a concert.

The hotel was clean and excellently located within a 1 minute walk of the Undergroung station and right next to bus stop. Service was excellent but rooms were unbelievably small for the price paid although it was in a fairly upmarket area.

The location of this hotel could not have been more ideal...just steps from the Piccadilly line. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly and the hotel rooms were absolutely lovely. A great value for the rate...you will certainly enjoy your stay.

Very poor service for the money we paid. Number of 'small' problems combined with a general lack of interest from most of the staff made our stay less than pleasurable.

Hotel was easy to find 1 minute from the tube. The staff on arrival were very friendly and helpful. Booking in was very quick as was check out. Room was small, but very modern, and comfortable. I would stay there again.

...although hotel excellent in terms of cleanliness and overall, DO NOT book a single room. They stuffed me in a cabinet, probably smaller than the janitor closet where all his supplies are. Room and bathroom within it probably were about 8-9 sqr mts in total. Absurd. I went down to complain and managed to upgrade to executive king for a nominal charge […] per night and that was decent. For our first visit to London we got lucky and chose this hotel. I ignored many previous reviews as they mostly seem to come prior to recent renovations performed on the hotel. We found the room to be comfortable (perhaps a bit small by American standards), clean, and the staff were very accomodating and friendly. The location was ideal for our travels […] with the Gloucester Station just a short half block away. There was also a market and a few local pubs and restaurants that were quite good. The only real complaint I had about the hotel was the charge for wireless internet service. The charge was ridiculous and a bit of a black eye on the hotel. Its almost silly in 2011 that a hotel charges for internet access. Läs mer
