First time visiting Paris, so booked based on very little information. the rooms and bathrooms here are extremely small - seriously like a matchbox.. single elevator servicing all floors - room on the 4th floor ended up having to use the stairs most of the time. city accessible by train - but this hotel is situated in the far end of the city. better […] options are available so do your research Läs mer

This was my third stay at this hotel, and if it had been my first time I would not have come back. The room given to us was very small in comparison to the previous occassions. There seems to be construction in progress and banging next door started at eight in the morning. We chose this Hotel because it was relatively inexpensive. While it was convenient to the Metro it is relatively far from most of the city attractions. We had a room on the first floor which was in poor condition, particularly the hallway rugs were badly stained and needed to be replaced. Who gave this hotel a 3-star rating? I don't think that it deserves even a single star. The stay was not comfortable. It does not appear clean and properly maintained.

The location of this hotel to transportation was great. I was able to get all around Paris easily from here as all forms of Paris' public transportation was accesible - as in directly outside the fron door from this hotel. That being said, the hotel itself was majorly lacking. It is NOT a 3 star hotel. I would barely give it 2. The carpets are old, […] worn and dirty tthrought the hotel. The linens did not smell fresh - not saying they were dirty, they just did not smell freshly cleaned. The fact that there was free wi-fi was the only other plus I can say about the hotel. I will also admit the staff was relatively friendly. I was upset however, that they do not offer early check-in. They literally made us wait 5 hours to check-in. I've never experienced that before. Also te baggage area whee they let us put our luggage while we waited was unsecured and on a completely different floor from the reception staff. the price is great - but beware you definetly get what you pay for. Good hotel- good price for a good room in a good location

It's a very bad location, takes 45 min to get to the center. Room smelled bad, they didnt clean our room during our 3 day staying,elevator is very very small,design of the hotel made me think that it used to be a wh*re house. I had high hopes about this hotel when I booked it, but I feel like it didn't live up to my expectations. The carpets were damaged, and the door to the bathroom wouldn't shut all of the way, and the door was missing paint at the bottom. The cleaning person forgot to replace the towels in one of the rooms that I had booked, and there is no air conditioning […] in the rooms. Also the shower is small and uses a shower curtain instead of a solid door. In a small shower this has the effect of causing the shower curtain to stick to you while taking a shower. It is not all bad the rates were reasonable and the location is wonderful. Hostel was clean and beds were comfortable but it was way too far out of town. About 13 stops on the subway en oh took roughly half an hour to get in each day to see the sights.

Clean, comfortable, cheap, great shower and bathroom. Train station near-by is great. booked a 4 share room, one of the nights had to be split up into two-two share rooms, slightly annoying but they moved all our luggage for us so that was nice. Good location, in front of subway entrance, tram & bus stop. Fast access to & from CDG airport. There are restaurants, cafes, bank, supermarket, cake shop & bakery nearby. The room I stayed is basic, no aircon which can be an issue in a hot night.

Finding this hotel was simple once you follow the signs for the correct Metro exit - then it was just there! Check-in was friendly and efficient as were almost all of the staff. Rooms were basic with no Tea/Coffee but a (non-working) mini bar. Free wi-fi was easy to connect to but the signal varied from room to room. We had three rooms booked so this […] was not too much of an issue as I picked the one with the best signal! The room sizes also varied but were all OK in size considering it is Paris. The hotel is located in Porte D'Orleans at the southern end of the No. 4 Metro line and is a busy suburban area but the Hotel is well soundproofed so this is not an issue. There are plenty of local shops, supermarkets, cafes, restaurants and bars nearby. For travelling into the centre of Paris you should allow 30-40minutes depending on time of travel (Train frequency varies) Pros: Cleanliness, Different Funky Design on each floor, overall friendliness. Cons: Lack of services (Bar, Restaurant etc), rude arrogant receptionsist (Male - possibly a manager) who knocked the overall rating from 5 down to 4 as he put a real sour taste on our stay. Läs mer

Nice hotel worked fine for our trip. Very close to metro stop, nice neighborhood with places to eat and grocery store close by. Carpet worn in room but otherwise very clean. Elevator very small and since we were on the top floor it was hard to get bags up and down, but otherwise stay was good.

I lived in Paris for two years, so, I know my way around the city. This hotel is a gteat bargen and I would stay there again without question. The front desk staff are the best!!

It was great having a Metro station right in front of the hotel which made me feel safe coming back at night time. The room was clean but the carpet was old. Considering the price, it was a good deal.

I stayed one night at this hotel last weekend, and the room was quite small, but had everything you would need, and the bathroom was modern and very clean. The room must have been near some vent though, as it was quite noisy throughout the night (but it's not everyone's experience: a friend who stayed on another floor had a very quiet room). Hotel was ok. Not the cleanest, but not the worst. Lobby was misleadingly nice. VERY thin walls. Decent value for the price. Took a good 30-45 minutes to get to most of the sites in Paris on the train. Once you get off the train, the hotel literally is right in front of the stop.

This is a decent budget hotel. The look of the place feels like it used to be an old rundown hotel and the owners tried to revamp it in the cheapest way possible, i.e. A paint job that may look to some as a "interesting" design job. Nearly every wall of the place is a different color or has a pattern scheme of some kind. The wall in our room still had […] the texture pattern of whatever the hotel looked like before. There was an ill-fitting plastic cover over the strangely painted desk in our room and all the pieces of furniture seemed mismatched, although it feels like the decorators were trying to match the furniture to something. Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. We had a street facing room and found it very loud in the morning and evening from street traffic (car horns and police sirens). The hotel was basic, hair dryer sucked. But the shower was hot, although small. The hotel is located right at a metro station which was awesome, but took a few stops and transfers to get […] to the sights. This hotel was in a prime location. The metro entrance was just outside the entrance and there was a tram stop just across the road. The main attraction of this hotel has to be the location. It is right outside a metro stop which makes locating the hotel when you arrive very easy. There are also a number of shops, restaurants and cafes nearby. The rooms are quite small but are clean and comfortable and have everything you need for a short stay. The hotel states it provides room service but on the 3 occasions we tried to order tea/coffee in our room we were either told they didnt have any or to come down and get it ourselves!! we had no difficulty in finding this hotel, we literally walked out of the metro stop at porte d'orleans and there it was, maybe 10 steps away! the staff were friendly ( bonjour and bonsoir every morning and evening!) and very helpful. Our double room was on the third floor, very quiet and comfortable,the ensuite bathroom was spotless and the room was […] cleaned and fresh towels provided daily. we hadbreakfast each morning and enjoyed it too, choice of breads and pastries, cereal, eggs yogurt cheese etc. keep us going well into the afternoon! the surrounding area is nice with a couple of lovely boulangeries and eateries. the proximity of the metro line is really very usefull though, less than a half an hour and you are in the city centre and within reach off al the main tourist spots. i would definately return as i found it to be great value for money and really enjoyed my stay there. The Ideal Hotel is in a perfect location, with the Port d'Orleans Metro stop literally steps outside of the front door. Breakfast with the room was definitely a value when one considers how much could be spent in the city for that meal. The room was comfortable, no air conditioning though, but ours opened up on a courtyard so the open window usually […] didn't bother us. When you read that this hotel is right next to the train, nobody is lying. It is very convenient; it is at the end of the line, but its only 4 or 5 stops from notre dame and the eiffel tower. Directly across the street from a subway station which was very convenient. Also had a few places to eat very close buy. Room was clean and staff was very helpful. As a bonus there was a laundromat and 2 grocery stores within walking distance. Overall very good experience

This is one of the worst hotels we have stayed in. Although it claims to be a three star, it is probably not worth even one star. - The rooms were boiling hot with poor ventilation - The hotel staff were very rude at times - Most importantly the location is not that great as many reviews and hotel management claims it to be. It takes about 30 minutes […] to get to the centreon the metro. And to be honest no matter where you stay in Paris it should not take more than 40 minutes to get to the centre anyway. I stayed there for 3 days. The room is bigger than I expected, and very clean. Location vise, it is the last station of the Metro line 4, but it's near to the station, so still convenient. I will definately go back again!

the hotel entrance and photos from the web are nice but one i walked in it's a totally different story the hotel isn't well designed, the life is so tiny that u can only fit 2 person and 1 luggage at a time (fair enough) but the room is the problem there's no air conditioning and all furniture you can tell are from ikea (which i consider as a bad thing […] in a hotel) the air conditioning was so bad that i had to open the windows at night but as it was raining i couldn't wide open it and the room is so lack of air that me and my family couldn't get a good sleep the whole night even tho the beds are actually quite nice. the bathroom was terrible again no air conditioning i was dripping hot when i was using the bathroom and the shower AND shower curtains are so small that it just doesn't make scene the good side is it's quite a clean hotel and breakfast was quite nice i've traveled round Paris over at least 10 times and to be honest this is actually the worst hotel i've ever visited. also with this price you can get a maybe not much better but at least another hotel with air conditioning as you know summer isn't really the most present thing in Paris. the name and the entrance (JUST THE ENTRANCE) kind of fooled me i have to say, overall this not quite ideal hotel is disappointing and became the low point of my trip. i wouldn't suggest this hotel to any one not even single travelers. Compared to some previous reviews hotel seems to be refurbished. It's a chic, design-style entry, break-fast room, and hotel rooms. Our room on the 3rd floor was towards the main street, but due to the good windows, it sealed against the street's noise. The comfort of the room is good, features an LCD-TV, phone, mini-bar, nice lamps and is nicely decorated. The […] bath-room is well equipped and modern style (faucets, washing sink, etc.) The breakfast was the best: nice room, nice setting. Among the food was bread & toast, croissant, to pastries, several cereals, hot eggs, two types of coffee and espresso, hot and cold milk, dried fruits and a bowl of fresh fruits... Next to the hotel is a bakery, a restaurant and some shops, but not that much else... However, it's right above the Metro station Porte D'Orleans, where the M4 ends and the T3 overground train runs... So and easily gets to the Chatelet, the Louvre and Notre-Dame. Läs mer

Hotel is atleast an hour and half from the airport. A taxi ride to it from CDG costs about $90 USD. If youre planning to travel to paris by taxi, you might as well put that money to a hotel closer to central paris. We had come in on a rainy day, and since it was our first time in Paris we decided we should take a taxi instead of trudging through unknown […] subways. Like most Europen hotels, the rooms were smaller than we were used to. The bathrooms were tiny and the only towel racks in there were underneath the sink (which had a leak and soaked our towels.) The elevator were tiny. Possibly barely able to fit two people. Had a hard time fitting my luggage with me in it ourselves. The best thing about the hotel is that right out the door is a subway stop. But the subway system in Paris is so practical that even if it wasn't I'm sure you can find one a block or two away. Not many good places to eat near here. Läs mer

Ideal Hotel is not in the center of Paris but that is an advantage. It is at the Port D'Orleans Metro stop (the entrance is right outside of the hotel) and it is at a busy intersection with buses and above ground railway stops. There is alot of street noise if you leave your window open but it is quite when closed. There is a wonderful, friendly creperie […] around the corner that opens early and closes around 10pm. A little walk down the road provides shops and other eateries and there is a grocery store a few blocks down. The staff is friendly and helpful. The only unusual things id the world's smallest elevator. it may take two trips to get the luggage upstairs. The multi-lingual staff of this hotel is very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms are modern, the beds are comfortable and the rooms and small lobby are artistically decorated. This hotel is located within walking distance of restaurants, a grocery store, an RER stop and is next to a great bakery and metro stop. There was a lot I liked about the hotel, especially the location. Though it was a bit noisy, it is Paris, and the feel of the area gives you a good feeling. Having the Port d'Orleans Metro stop literally just outside the front door was more than convenient. The accomodations were very nice, small room, but beautifully kept.

Even though the hotel is located outside the center of Paris, the entire city is easily accessible by Metro. In fact, there is a Metro station entrance right outside the front door of the hotel. The hotel room was large, clean, and comfortable. There are numerous restaurants in the area.

I worked in the incentive travel business for 25 years and have stayed at many of the highest end hotels from Paris to Singapore to Hawaii. For me its about a CLEAN bathroom that "feels good". For the near budget price we paid the all ceramic tile, good shower pressure, well lite, spotless clean bathroom made me happy. Plus the 100% cotton bed linens […] and good pillows helped to. My compaints was the remote control did not work, even with new batteries, but I was not in Paris to watch TV. Plus there is no overhead light by the closet storage. The Front Desk staff was always friendly and spoke English. The Porte de Orleans Metro is literally right outside the front door and the little Patisserie next door is everything good all the other reviews said about it.
