Hotell Mercure Madrid Plaza de Espana - Madrid

Vi bodde tre nätter och upplevde hotellet som väldigt prisvärt. Rummet var lagom stort, hade det vi behövde (inkl. gratis värdeskåp) och städades bra. Trådlöst WiFi fanns att tillgå gratis, och fungerade mestadels bra. Vi provade inte frukostbuffén. Hotellet rekommenderas.

Tillbringade 3 nätter på detta hotell i nov. Inget klaga på. Rummet rent, härlig säng, badrum med badkar. Ligger c:a 200 m från Plaza Espana. I närheten finns butik( öppet till efter midnatt) restauranger finns i närheten. T-bana vid Espana. Direktlinje till Bernabeu för den son åker ned för att titta på fotboll.

Bra hotel till rimligt pris, men promenadavstånd till det mesta. Enda problemet var att rummet luktade rök, och vi kunde inte få ett annat rum.

Very nice, quiet and clean hotel in central Madrid. Did not try the restaurant/breakfast, but the rooms - even though small - were excellent. The bed is incredible. Nice and helpfull english-speaking staff, and always a couple of taxis waiting outside on the street if you need them. Beware of the small restaurant across the street though, the food […] is decent enough but they have over-priced everything terribly. Very close to Calle Princesa, the street that later turn in to Calle Gran Via wich is the main passage way for all of central Madrid. I can really recommend this hotel. Läs mer

Close to all amenities.Cheap feed places and decent restaurants in the area also movie theatres that play English movies.Hotel is clean and lovely beding .The only fault was the internet was lousy and breakfast was not included in a package deal although hotel accommodation was very well priced

Came to Madrid primarily for a football trip, but followed it up with plenty of sight-seeing. The hotel location is excellent, close enough to the main gran via high-street in Madrid, but not so close that you get the busy crowds and loud nights. Service was excellent and extremely accommodating. To be recommended.

Good value for money! Haven't tried breakfast in the hotel - love to sleep, but there is nice cafe almost opposite the hotel with yummy and light (and cheap!) breakfast, good tapas in the tapas bar a minute away. Easy walk to plaza de espana and royal palace. Friendly staff at reception. We enjoyed the stay!

We had a fantastic break in Madrid and I can not recommend this wonderful hotel highly enough. Situated in the city centre's restaurant and bar district, which makes it great for breakfast, lunch or dinner time and there is a great 'buzz' around this part of town on an evening. The hotel staff are very friendly and polite and can not do enough to help […] you. The room itself was very spaceous and comfortable with a huge bed and great bathroom facilities. Central location but down a side street so fairly quiet. Room was spacious, warm with a very comfortable bed. Bathroom large but showing signs of wear and there was a bit of a smell from the waste pipe in the bath. Easy to walk to many attractions from the hotel, plenty of small bars,restaurants and cafes on the doorstep. The hotel is in a great location on a quiet street, excellent position for walking to major attractions such as the Royal Palace (10 minutes), Gran Via (5 minutes) and the Plaza Mayor (15 minutes). The city bus tour is a great way to see Madrid and there is a bus stop just a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. We took the Metro from the airport and […] would recommend this as a really convenient method of travel to the hotel. The Plaza de Espana metro station is very close to the hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable and the hotel staff were mature and helpful. If you like to sleep well in Madrid, then this is the right place. I have been in many hotels in Madrid, but never slept so well as in this quite backstreet next to plaza de Espana. Bed good, internet works and breakfast nice.

Overall, this was a really good stay. The hotel is ten minute walk from the Gran Via, so it was very convenient to shopping, food and entertainment. Right across the street from this hotel is a movie theater that plays movies in English with spanish subtitles (no one spoke english, so be prepared with your survival guide). There were also cheap eats […] (mcdonalds, burger king, vips, starbucks, etc . . .) right be the movie theater. The hotel room was good. The only complaint I had was the pillows, but I never asked the hotel to change them out. The staff was friendly and helpful. I gave the "quality of hotel service" a 3, however. This is because, while the staff was friendly, they didn't go out of their way to be particularly helpful. As a traveller, that is something that I appreciate. Second visit to Madrid this year but first for this hotel. Stayed for 3 nights and found it to be an ideal base for visiting the main areas - Gran Via, Sol, Plaza Mayor, Palace and Retiro Park.The room was a good size, as was the bathroom. Huge bed and decent air conditioning ensured a good nights sleep (or perhaps it was the jugs of Sangria??) The […] staff were fantastic and spoke perfect English. Never saw anyone staffing the bar and we didn't bother with breakfast or food in hotel as we prefer to get out an about so can't comment on that side of things. Metro stops just a couple of minutes walk from hotel although due to the location we walked to the majority of the main tourist areas. Would definitely stay here again. Läs mer

Very good value for money. We had a good last minute deal. Normal prices would make it quite expensive for what it is. The hotel was well situated - close to the Metro - close to the Royal Palace and other sights which meant we could walk everywhere.

The hotel itself is in a great location - far enough away from the central Sol area to keep noise away, yet close to many restaurants and tube stations, as well as being within walking distance of the palace and town centre. The staff spoke excellent English and were happy to watch our bags on our last day. The only downsides were that the shower water […] temperature fluctuated, the very thick duvets in 30 degree plus heat were impractical, and the air conditioning was far too noisy to use at night. The hotel was in an excellent location, close enough to the action, yet tucked away in a quieter street. It was also close to the metro station so it was easy to get to and from the airport. The hotel staff were friendly and happy to help with anything. The room was spacious with really comfortable beds and a nice bathroom.

The hotel was very pleasant and was clean throughout. We would have no hesitation in stopping again. A few things of note, the breakfast seemed expensive we therefore sorted ourselves out. We never saw the bar area open and therefore have no idea what the service was like. The hotel staff, both Angel and Louis are outstanding. They helped us in all that we asked. Eventhough it is not the best hotel we had stayed in, we would choose Mercure Madrid because of them.

I stayed there as part of a party of 11 in early December. The hotel is convenient to the Metro station and easy to find. The foyer area is well decorated and the rooms were comfortable and had everything you need. The immediate area is not particularly attractive, but feels quite safe. The Mercure Madrid Plaza de Espana in Madrid was a perfect place to stay - clean, quiet and comfortable on the inside. Outside, it was walking distance to two major subway lines, walking distance to most major attractions and plenty of places to eat.

A comfortable hotel to use as a base for central Madrid. No restaurant (except breakfast), but plenty of places to eat within a short walk. My room had a large balcony that got the late September sun during the day.

While the hotel doesn't seem like it is THAT close to everything, it is actually a lot closer to the main areas of Madrid and it is possible to walk everywhere quite easily. There is the underground option which we did opt for most of the time as we did not know precisely where everything was but turns out, closer than we predicted. Lots of restaurants […] and bars nearby so never short of something to grab to eat if that is what you need. Hotel room was excellent - bed was so comfy you did not want to leave it! Bathroom spotless and room had a safe which was a bonus. There was no iron in the room however but not sure if this is something that can be requested. Overall, thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at the hotel and would gladly return to this hotel should we return to Madrid. Definitely recommend. Läs mer

It is always difficult when you are traveling in a country when you do not speak the language, and this is especially true in a City the size of Madrid. The gentleman (Enriquie sp??) at the front desk went above and beyond to make sure we knew where we should go and how to get to each place. He recommeded the restruant next door for dinner and the food […] was awesome and the service was 5 star. The hotel was very cumfortable and clean. The hotel is well located with easy access to local sites. The staff is very helpful and the accomodations are nice. On the down side, the rooms are a bit noisy and the restuarant limited at best. Overall, I would stay here again.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 days and it was a really good experience. everyhing close by, cafes, supermarket, the cinema and the train station. its easy to get to. the staff are very polite and very helpfull, alwasy with a smile in their faces and very informative too! the room was very spacious, with a valcony and everything! the bathroom was massive […] and me and my girlfriend had room for everything! and the bed was very confortable and massive too. the only downside was that you can sometimes hear other people talking if they are speaking quite loud in the room next to you but that wasn't an issue for us and also the breakfast was quiet expensive. and due to the day that we traveled there was always a group of youths hanging around the coner but they didn't cause any harm. Would i recommend this to other people? YES! would i go back to the same hotel if i go to madrid again? YES! Läs mer
