Hotell Langham Huntington, Pasadena, Los Angeles - Pasadena

Valde ut hotellet baserat på höga ratings och det blev ingen besvikelse. Att svänga upp till entren kändes som en film. Och tack och lov till ett helt OK pris. Vi hade ett rum med två queen size sängar och det fungerade utmärkt till två vuxna och två ungdomar.

Ett fantastiskt hotell i ett fantastiskt område. Behov av bil, långa avstånd som överallt i LA-området. Finns bara "Valet-parking" , hade föredragit självparkering. Oerhört bra service och en hotellanläggning som är en upplevelse i sig. Har varit i LA många gånger, men aldrig tidigare i Pasadena, mycket positivt.

Högre standard på hotell finns knappast. Oerhört påkostat såväl interiört som exteriört. Kanske litet pretentiöst och tråkigt därför. Pasadena välskött liten stad i storstaden.

Langham Huntington bjöd på en lugn, tyst och trygg vistelse. Valet-parkeringen fungerade utmärkt och alla dess medarbetare vi kom i kontakt med var professionella och hjälpsamma. Receptionen var välgörande fri från löpande band-principen. Såväl in- som utcheckning var ett nöje. Hotellet har hög standard i allmänhet och parken som omsluts av flyglarna […] i synnerhet. Vi uppskattade särskilt uteplatsen utanför rummet; som gjord för att äta frukost på. Städningen av rummet varierade beroende på dag men var aldrig dålig. A very pleasant hotel and beautiful hotel grounds.

There was NO hot water for our showers 3 out of the 4 nights we were there. Very disappointing & they could not fix it. I would never stay there again.

Hotel rooms are quite worn. Was not impressed with the quality & decor of the rooms..reminded me of an ordinary chain hotel room. The toilet didn't flush, the sink wouldn't drain, shower door wouldn't seal so water leaked all over the bathroom floor & the bathtub had rust so I didn't bother getting in. There was too much nickel and dimming. It would have been nice to have coffee in the room. Business center was way over priced.

The Langham is the best deal for hotels of this class. Peaceful surroundings, luxury bedding, perfect service combine to make you feel like you stepped back in time to an era of quiet elegance.

Gorgeous surroundings. Beautiful hotel. Very old and charming. Badly needs updated technology, including TV's, and wi fi should be free like any other exclusive hotel.

THE ONLY THING IWOULD CHANGE IS TO HAVE COFFEE IN THE ROOMS

I'm not your typical reviewer of hotels/restaurants. I know where the delete button is when I receive the requests to review. However, I want to make sure I qaulify the objective answers regarding this property. My wife and I typically will spend our Christmas Holiday in SoCal (we're from the Bay Area). For the past several years, we've visted family/friends […] in the Pasadena area on Christams/the day after and we usually stay at Hilton properties. A number of years ago I'd stayed at the Langham and liked the experience so I decided to change it up a bit this year and booked at the Langham. We'd spent the previous two days down in San Diego and drove up Christmas night to Pasadena. Traffic was rough for a Christmas Day (evening), so I was really looking forward to lazying around the hotel room, maybe walking the property--just hanging out in general. My wife passed out (exhaustion--not alcohol!) around 9:00 pm and I laid in bed finishing up the Warrior's/Clipper's game, turning out the light at around 10:30 pm. It was then that I noticed a constant buzz coming from the bar located at the base of the opposite wing of the hotel. I kind of chuckled, thinking that things would quite down. Well, they didn't. I think it was 1:30 am when things started to quiet down. I would have called down to the front desk, but: (A) the noise was so obvious, I wouldn't be the first (so I knew they already knew it was a problem); and (B) I didn't want to disturb my wife. So, I laid there in bed and stewed about the extra $50/night I was paying vs. the Hilton where I'd received so many better nights' sleep!!! I can only guess there were guests with way more "juice" than us commoners (maybe Brad and Angelina--who knows?) that the hotel was willing to accomodate with late night revelry (this wasn't just a dull roar--which it was--but it was punctuated with "Hey Bobs" or "Merry Christmases" every once in a while. Hotel has some positives: It is the best hotel on east side of LA; it is in a posh neighborhood; it has beautiful grounds; and, it is generous with light sockets. Many many more negatives. Coming from Asia, we are used to "all inclusive" services. This hotel specializes in "all exclusive" services starting with the car. There is no way to get here without […] a car. Once here, there is no self parking, only a valet plus a heavy night charge. Internet is $10 per day per device. Pillows are wimpy. Towels are threadbare. Toiletries are inadequate. And, even though they knew my flight was 9PM, they would not even extend checkout to 1PM (even if I paid them). Everyone expected a tip for everything. We counted spending almost $20 in singles for just one day. Turns out this is mostly a local wedding hotel. Most travelers stay downtown and drive the 10 minutes into Pasadena if they have business there. For international travelers: AVOID. Läs mer

We had a great time. The grounds are well kept and attractive, the room was immaculate, tastefully decorated and quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only minor complaint was the TV was old and could be upgraded. A great place for a romantic get away.

I usually request a King Size Bed. I was in a room with two Queen Size Beds. I slept two nights in one bed, and realized that the bed was not comfortable...tried the other bed, same result. I think they are due to have the mattresses updated. Everything else about the hotel was lovely.

The hotel and staff were outstanding. Comfortable room with great bed! TV not exceptional nor HD and no DVR/VCR availability. Surcharge for WiFi. The grounds are gorgeous. Pool delightful and warm. Front desk and concierge staff very pleasant and helpful. Exceptional and quiet with attentive service.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The front desk upgraded us to a cottage since our room was not ready. However, as great as that was we had a couple of issues with the room. I took a shower and could not get any hot water. Also the shower door was stuck on the shower frame and it came off its hinges. The grounds and hotel itself are great. Very nice surrunding environment. But the room face carpark and gabbish station, in the morning 7:00am, the gabbish truck come and you can't sleep any more. Air conditioning has big noise, 70's bathroom, 80's TV, wifi not work. Good place for recall the 70's, 80's life. But not a good place as a bussiness hotel. Loved the ambience of the place, "old(er) world elegance," the public spaces (courtyard, bar, pool, gardens, etc.) were beautiful, our room was very nice, beds deliciously comfortable, friendly courteous staff. This was our second stay at the hotel this year and we were anxious to return. However, the checkin did not go well. After the valet wisked our car away I realized I had left my purse in the car. I immediately told the clerk at the reception desk who told me to tell the valet, which I did, who told me to tell the clerk. He had a problem understanding […] but after some explaining he said he would have it sent to the room. He didn't. Forty five minutes later we had to back down to the desk and nothing had been done. I was concerned about the purse as I had a newly replaced Iphone in it and a smart key. The car could not be locked with my purse in the car. The hotel is a very nice property, but on this visit the service was sub par. The pool was closed to regular guests for several days, which was a disappointment. More importantly, they failed to execute a wake up call as requested that caused me to miss an early flight.

Great hotel. I stay here all the time when it is priced well.

Stayed over Labor Day weekend in Sept 2011. The staff was friendly and the hotel was beautiful.The spa was gorgeous, the bed was incredibly comfortable, the pool was warm and large and the grounds of the hotel are worth strolling through. we liked it very much staying there... the hotel is perfect, the only pitty is, that sometimes you need more as an hour to Hollywood or Beverly Hills...

Stayed at this hotel recently and was very happy. The room was great and the hotel staff more than efficient. At the end of the day you normally get what you pay for and whilst the hotel was not cheap it was not overly expensive. Can`t say anything bad about it - It was all good

The Langdon Huntington is a beautiful property with an impressive pedigree. It would be lovely to just stay right on the grounds, enjoying the spa, the pool, tennis and fine dining. But we couldn't resist the absolutely amazing Huntington Gardens, Art Gallery and library, just 5 minutes away, or the Norton-Simon museum in Pasadena. Often overshadowed […] by nearby Los Angeles, Pasadena is a worthwhile destination. Best of all, when I challenged hotel.com's rate guarantee, they informed me the price had gone down even lower than I thought, and they refunded the difference to my credit card. We were greeted by a slew of people eager to assist us upon check in. EVERYONE was amazing. The hotel is beautiful. The courtyard serene with water and baby ducklings! My 2 year old son LOVED it. Upon checking in were explained we might need to stay another night but would not know until the next day. The delightful receptionist said that would not […] be a problem that we could book through hotels.com or directly with them just to let them know in the morning. We did need to stay another night. We went by the front desk and a DIFFERENT woman was there who said we could not keep our room we would have to upgrade (quite a bit I might add) and move to a different location. She was not helpful in the least. We went back to our room, got our belongings and stayed the night @ the Sheraton. Funny how everything could be going so nicely and ONE PERSON could leave you with such a bad taste for the hotel. I would think twice before rebooking their again. Why were the coffee pots located outside, at the parking lots, near the valets? and only until 9am? No coffee in the room. Add $25 a day to the bill - it's necessary to have a car in Pasadena, and there's no where else to park it, so you'll be paying for valet service. The spa and gym are lovely.

Beautiful is how I would describe this hotel. The building, the garden, the decorations are all elegant and timeless. I had a very comfortable and relaxing stay and would definitely go back.

The Langham is located in a beautiful neighborhood of Pasadena, CA. It is close to the shops of Lake Avenue and Old Town Pasadena with many restaurants, Bodega Wine Bar, and excellent shops. This luxurious hotel is steeped in the tradition of old Pasadena, with beautiful grounds and a pictorial history portrayed on the bridge crossing over to the cottages. […] We were graciously greeted at the front desk and the young people valeting the car were always courteous and upbeat. Each night we returned to our room with the bed turned down, the lights low, and soft classical music playing on the radio. We stayed at this hotel because we were attending a wedding in the area and the wedding party was staying at this hotel. When we arrived to our room, our remote control did not work in room. We called the front desk and they informed us that they were going to send someone to fix the problem. No one ever came to fix our problem. The hotel only has valet […] parking. When we came back from wedding in the early morning, the valet attendant was not there, we waited about 15-20minutes so they can park our car. Since no one was there, we had to park our own car. Beautiful, well kept up facility. Completely empty of people. Dingy bar, No coffee pot in room; God help you to find the restaurant, staff, hours or menu. They seem to just open the restaurants at their convenience. Staff means well, but are totally inept. Big management problem of some kind. I believe they think they are catering to the upper, upper […] $$ demographic, but the cars seen arriving are Mustangs, Toyota's Chevy's. They 'forgot' to mention that Valet parking is required and is $25.00 per day (I think they want you to tip the attendant on every parking request too. Läs mer

I love this hotel! I will come here anytime I am in the Los Angeles area, because it is so special and beautiful. The service is excellent and makes the price of the rooms worth it. The beds are very comfortable and the view from the back of the hotel was lovely. The Terrace restaurant is a great place for breakfast or lunch by the pool. We had an excellent stay at Langham. A few minor suggestions. The cream ran out in the morning and were not replenished and hotel guests seem annoyed by that leaving all the coffee on the counter. Similarly, the empty cups at the poolside were not replenished as well. Besides these minor instances, we were very pleased with the decos, service. Beds […] were very comfortable; room were very clean and grounds beautifully maintained. The fitness center is wonderfully equipped with machines, fruits, cold and hot drinks and towels.
