We were visiting Wuppertal on business, and then as a getaway to a short driving vacation. The hotel was very convenient to the train station, where we arrived - except that one needs to know to exit the train station by its front gates (going up the escalator on the right as you come out of the platforms onto the central walkway) not via the city centre. […] The room, although typical in size for many European hotels, was comfortable. We stayed 2 nights at the InterCityHotel Wuppertal and we enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable on the 5th floor that overlooked the Schwebebahn. Although I had read that Business rooms were on the quiet side of the hotel, I really liked our view of the Schwebebahn. We had free wi-fi available to us, which I used on my cell phone. A code is required […] for the wi-fi access; ask for it at check in. There is a computer in the lobby that is NOT connected to a printer. If you need to have a boarding pass printed for a European flight, email your boarding pass to the front desk and ask them to print it for you. (We did this for an Air Berlin flight from Dusseldorf to Vienna.) The breakfast buffet was excellent with many items to choose from including eggs, bacon, cheeses, cereals, and breads. The hotel was mainly nice, and it is easy to reach downtown Wuppertal, train station, university etc. Plenty of restaurants and shops in the neighbourhood. Unfortunately there's a huge construction site right next door, which makes the hotel more difficult to reach. Das Zimmer bedürfen eine gründliche Renovierung. Tolietten-Papier und Tissues sind so hart wie Zeitungspapier , außerdem sind nur so wenig Tissues vorhaden. Veraltete Fernsehen. Ich habe direkt bei der Rezeption beschwert, trotzdem bekomme ich kein anderen Zimmer. Es ist höchsten eine 3 sternige Hotel aber nicht wie Beschrieben 4 Sterne.

Zimmer abgewohnt, Matratzen hart, die sog. Klimaanlage geht weder im Sommer noch im Winter. Fenster können wegen permanentem Straßenlärm nicht geöffnet werden. Frühstück wird um Punkt 10.00 Uhr schnellstens abgeräumt mit dem Hinweis"wenn Sie noch etwas möchten, dann holen Sie es sich jetzt". So stelle ich mir kein Hotel der Steigenberger Group vor und […] wir waren schon in einigen. Ungemütlich, unfreundlich und für den Preis viel zu teuer. Die Freundichkeit der Mitarbeiter möchte ich positiv hervorheben. Sowohl beim Frühstück als auch an der Rezeption wurde ich sehr freundlich empfangen und zügig bedient. Was sehr zu wünschen übrig ließ war die Klimaanlage, die bei Temperaturen jenseits der 30 Grad nur als besserer Ventilator fungierte, gekühlt wurde die Luft nicht. Der Wasserablauf im […] Waschbecken war verstopft, nach dem Händewaschen benötigte das Wasser 10 min zu ablaufen. Leider wurden beide Mängel trotz Meldung nicht behoben. Im Vergleich zu dem den anderen Hotels in Wuppertal - das Niveau der Hotels dort ist eher niedrig - scheint mir dieses mit das Beste zu sein. Läs mer

Lage ist ganz gut, direkt neben HB, das Zimmer allerdings ist klein, das Bett ist klein, und was am meisten ärgert - die Decke ist viel zu schmal. Kann das Hotel sich keine breitere Decken leisten? Also 4* würde ich nicht geben...

Das Zimmer war geraeumig! Damit hoert die positiven Bewertung allerdings auf. Die Zimmerwaende waren schmutzig, der 80ziger Jahre Teppichboden unansehnlich, im Bad kaum Ablage. Der "elektronische Schluessel", der auch zum Betreten des Lifts benutzt werden muss, funktionierte meist nicht. Nach 18:00 gibt es keinen Zimmerservice und kein Housekeeping. […] Das Restaurant schliesst um 22:00. Wenn man spaeter eincheckt oder noch Hunger hat, hat man noch die Gelegenheit in der Unterfuehrung des nahegelegenen Hauptbahnhofs zwischen Junkies und Aso-szene sich eine Bockwurst zu kaufen. Das Hotel wird personalextensiv gefuehrt und das macht sich leider ueberall bemerkbar. Von 3 Personen am Empfangsschalter, die wir waehrend unserer 2 Tage kennenlernten, machte nur eine einen professionellen Eindruck. Ein "Bellboy" in einem 3 Sternehotel in einem Entwicklungsland ist kompetenter und hilfsbereiter. Wer mit dem eigenen Auto kommt muss im hauseigenen Parhaus 12 Euro pro Nacht bezahlen. Der Autofahrer nimmt in der Regel auch das Angebot einer DB-Freikarte fuer alle Fahrten in NRW nicht wahr. Insofern ist dieses Hotel fuer Autofahrer ueberhaupt nicht zu empfehlen und u. U. nur fuer Bahnreisende die von der Bahn ja auch nicht gerade verwoehnt werden.. Läs mer

Staying in InterCityHotel Wuppertal was really much better than I expected. After reading a lot of bad comments on the booking site, I was preparing for a bad hotel where the coffee was cold. This was not the case! Instead I walk into this beautiful hotel (many hours before the check-in time - and they didn't even charge extra!) just in time for the […] breakfast, and the coffee was goood and hot. One day when I needed a place to practice my music in the evening I didn't want to make noise in my room, so I asked the hotel staff for a conference room or something similar to stay in for the evening. I was asked to wait for two minutes as a hotel worker was preparing something for me. I was then given a large breakfast room to play in where they had moved the things to the side so I could play my guitar. They also serviced me with a cold drink free of charge. I am very satisfied with my stay in InterCityHotel Wuppertal. Läs mer

Im allgemeinen waren wir mit dem Hotel zufrieden. Nur der Zustand im Zimmer (Klimadecke und Dusche) ließen zu wünschen übrig. Frühstück ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Einzelzimmer gebucht = es war tatsächlich ein 90 cm breites Bett = unmöglich. Wer schläft heute noch auf 90 cm? Warum werden Alleinreisende immer in die letzten Zimmer des Hotels untergebracht (= zur Strasse hin = sehr laut)? Gut = kostenloses Ticket für den ganzen VRR (=also auch bis zum Flughafen Ddorf) inkl Schwebebahn

Das Hotel mag an sich sauber und orentlich sein, der Service freundlich, ich erhielt sogar ein kostenloses Upgrade, aber das Zimmer das ich erhielt hatte vor kurzem einen Wassereinbruch (gelbe unrenovierte Decke, auch im Flur zum Zimmer war der Schaden sichtbar). Das Hotel liegt sehr Zentral. Negativ war nichts. Der Service war freundlich und auch der Check-in nach 24h war kein Problem. Als besonders positiv möchte ich hervorheben, dass es in dem Hotel kostenloses W-Lan gibt. Außerdem ist direkt gegenüber dem Haupteingang ein großer Parkplatz wo man sein Auto kostenlos abstellen kann. Das Einzelzimmer war nicht […] das Größte und das Bett war nur 1,20m breit aber für Alleinreisende mehr als ausreichend. Der Raum hatte neben dem Üblichen Schnickschnack eine Klimaanlage und einen Hosenbügeler und das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr reichhaltig.
