It was a great place to stay. It was clean, quiet and very comfortable. Their restaurant meals were enjoyed by all four of us. The staff was extrememly helpful and friendly. It is less than an hour from Cork and about an hour from Kilarney.

This was my favorite hotel of my entire trip (and we stayed in 6 all over the country). The staff are just so down to earth, helpful and friendly. In the restaurant, I had the best starter plate of bread and cheeses. I still think about it all this time later. The walls are filled with interesting historical information and there is a nice little fireplace […] when you walk in. The shower had multiple jets and the water was nice and hot! This is one of the few hotels I stayed in where the water temperature was exactly as it should be. Many a luke warm showers were taken at other hotels. Can't say enough good things about this hotel! Castle Hotel is a friendly place where service is genuine and people will go the extra mile. Macroom is a place where everyone knows everyone else, so the "chat" is not manufactured! Food is good also, not lacking for anything. It also has a swimming pool & gym.

Even though it was just a one night stay, it was a wonderful experience. It is a very comfortable hotel. Food was excellent. The friendly staff made the experience very enjoyable. I would strongly recommend this hotel and will return for a longer stay in the near future

Friendly staff. First class food. Nice spacious room. Tea / coffee in room and iron with ironing board. Music in the bar on Saturday night with great atmosphere. Located in centre of the town with easy walk to shops.

High quality service and cleanliness all days - I stayed 13 days at the Castle Hotel. Smoking rooms available. Free coffee/tea and biscuits - the refills are made ​​every day! Friendly local people join the restaurant, bar or cafe - nice ambiance of the Irish! Enjoy your stay too!

Based in the centre of Macroom with car parking at the rear, this hotel is the ideal stop for visitors to West Cork. On a recent two-night stay, my wife and I were greeted by possibly the friendliest and chattiest receptionist we ever encountered. The breakfast room staff were equally friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and immaculately clean […] while the shower in the bathroom was more akin to a car wash! It could be adjusted so that no less than six jets of water were sprayed at you. Our stay at The Castle Hotel was really good we loved all of the small attention to detail and the very welcoming attitude of the staff the food was really good and so good to have the pool for a swim after a long day . We found the location brilliant for Touring west Cork and the little town of Macroom charming.

The best hotel I've ever stayed in. Staff were friendly, nothing was to much trouble. I was amazed at the work ethic of all staff. Food was brilliant, well presented served on time. Reception staff couldn't have been more helpful.

I really enjoyed my stay, the staff were all very friendly and helpful, and I was made feel very welcome. The room was clean and comfortable. It is in the very heart of Macroom, so only a few steps from the local pubs and cafes,but also has an off street free parking area around the back, which any motorcycle tourist (like me) or security conscious […] motorist would find useful. I cannot comment on the food available, but their resturant seemed to be frequented by many locals, so I would assume it would be good. They also have a poool and leisure club. This was a delightful hotel to stay in. The staff were friendly and helpful a real pleasure to meet. We had breakfast and our evening meal at the Castle it was well presented and beautifully cooked. We will certainly stay here again.

The hotel is located right in the centre of town and on first sight is a little underwhelming but as soon as you get inside the quality shows. ALL of the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was one of the newly decorated contemporary ones.

I was very impressed with the very high standard of cleanliness throughout the hotel. I have stayed in many hotels in Europe and Asia and this one ranks among the best. Friendly, efficient and very helpful staff made my short stay a very pleasant one. I will definately be back. Keep up the good work!

Macroom is a small town with a very large hotel. The women at the front desk were the friendliest and most helpful I have ever seen. The bar and restaurant were excellent. It is, of course, walking distance to anywhere in town.

The staff at this hotel were top notch and bent over backwards to make you happy. It is a hotel that I would stay at again and again! The location of the hotel is in a small town but was just a few steps out into the country. It's a great location for exploring a few major cities within Ireland.

Always a wonderful experience. 3rd or 4th time staying with the Castle Hotel. 20 mts from Cork City and 40 mts to Killarney. easy to get around.

I booked this on the last minute and found the hotel a lovely venue which was both central to Cork City and Killarney. Approx 45 minutes either way. The area is lovely countryside with lots to do and plenty of historical sites to visit.

Hotel is in an excellent location in centre of town. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food at wedding meal was lovely, with the white gloved waiters being a nice touch. Food in the cafe before the wedding was good and reasonably priced. Didn't get to the leisure centre!! Very nice stay.

Each staff member whether they were reception, room service, chamber maid, bar staff, or gym, could not do enough for you. They were friendly, helpful and really accomodating. The food was fantastic, the rooms large, comfortable and really clean. Great value for money. We only stayed one night before heading off to do the Ring of Kerry, and we had come from Fota Wildlife Park so were looking for a convenient midway location between there and Killarney. This hotel fit the bill. Handy parking round the back. Didn't try the leisure centre. Had lunch that afternoon (toasted sambos) and then had dinner in the hotel that […] evening. We stuffed our faces with a 3 course meal, and I have to say, the meal was fantastic! Each course was very tasy, very generous portions, the staff were all friendly and smiling, even when they were run off their feet. The hotel bar is obviously a popular place for locals to eat also, and the staff greeted everyone warmly. It is like a beautiful bed and breakfast with 200+ rooms. The staff is second to none. They could not have been more friendly or helpful. The restaurants at the hotel - cafe, bar, and restaurant - were all excellent. We enjoyed all of the six nights we were there. If you enjoy the peace and quiet of walking along the countryside, then you will enjoy […] being here. If not, there is not much else to do in the immediate area of Macroom. We were able to easily take public transportation (bus) from Cork airport to the hotel. From the hotel it is an easy bus ride to Killarney (to the East) and Cork (to the West). We did not venture further, although you can by bus. Overall, a wonderful experience Thanks to the staff and accommodations at the hotel. Just remember, not much to do if you are planning an extended stay. It fit nicely into OUR goal of doing family history research. Läs mer
