"Good consistent quality"
We've stayed here a number of times due to its quality and location when visiting our son who is in college. Love the river views, access to walking paths along the river, easy to get on and off the freeway, and far enough away from the college noise. The hotel is dated and smelled of cigarette smoke when we first got there, though was clean. We aired the room out for a few minutes and it was fine. "Quick visit"
I have often stayed here and enjoyed the concierge service and a room over looking the river.. this time however there system was down and I could only get a second floor room which was tiny, and had to run back and forth a number of times to reorganize things.. "one of the worst expierences ever"
absolutely terrible. from the moment we arrived till the time we left. Had to ask for a comforter because the room only comes with a light blanket and sheet. "Easy stay, friendly service, recently remodeled"
The hotel is recentely remodeled with a nice entry way and cruiser bikes to take along the path at the river.We got in earlier than expected, and the hotel allowed us to do an early check-in. The service was pleasant and welcoming. Our room was pretty good, and I like that the sink is separated from the bathroom. This helps out a ton when two people […] are sharing a room. The only complaint I have is that the shower head has so little pressure that I couldn't get the soap out of my hair. I am all for saving water, but there's got to be a balance. The Valley river Inn was great, easy to find, located near plenty of places to eat, shopping for the misses. "Great Stay in Eugene"
We had a great stay at the Valley River Inn. We needed a break from some stressful business and this filled the bill. Beautiful view of the Willamette River. The only bad part is the location in a shopping mall, but otherwise a great place to stay.Verifierad gästrecension

From the pictures on Hotels.com I thought this was going to be a nice place to stay. Not so much. Close to the freeways. Bigger that we anticipated. Good shopping district very nearby. Nothing special - nothing really disappointing. Good size room. The most impressive part of our experience was how the staff went to extra length to make us comfortable on a Holiday evening when all personnel were busily preparing for a major Christmas Tree annual event. "Comfortable, relaxing, friendly, cozy,"
The room was comfortable, clean and met my expectations. What I loved about this hotel was the restaurant area and the staff. Everybody we came into contact with was great and we actually ate almost every meal for three days in in their restaurant. This is something I have never done in the past. The restaurant also located right on the river providing […] a great view of the water. There is also a nice fireplace where we enjoyed our morning coffee and evening cocktails. The staff was polite, accommodating, funny but by no means imposing. I felt very relaxed in the restaurant spent hours enjoying friends and family there. "Much Better and room for improvement"
Stayed in room 102 - Noticed a couple of things. The worse was that we could hear someone walking in the room upstairs all morning on Friday - It was awful, the ceiling creaked and cracked from the person moving around. Very annoying especially very early in the morning. Also the upgrades to the room were very very nice, just think there there are […] a few more details that need to be taken care of. Suggestions: New pillows - the ones we had were very lumpy. Although you have done a very nice job upgrading the light fixtures, we noticed that the light switches were very old and grimy looking. That is a finishing touch that would make a big difference. Also the beds need some sort of throw blanket. We liked the double sheets, but many hotels have the blanket at the foot of the bed. Restaurant looks much better than it used to. However, I thought you really should have gone to the expense of refinishing the oak with a darker stain, since you are going with more modern look. We had a great lunch there. The shrimp louis - I would order again! Delicious. Service was very good. but not exceptional. Keep working on it, I think you guys are going a lot of things right. "Quality not there"
The room was not as clean as I would have expected. There were cobwebs on the ceiling. I had to wipe sticky stuff off the bathroom counter before using it. The bed linens had a few black marks, like from a shoe sole. "Don't Bother.."
As some of the other reviews describe, this is an outdated motel. There are better and more accomodating placese to stay in Eugene. There is no microwave, no fridge, go good quality TV. We went to the lounge where it seems a flashback from the 80's. The bartender was very nice and accomodating and the food @ Sweetwaters wasn't too bad!
