Hotell Good Hotel - San Francisco

Slitet hotell, där motelldelen är ganska lyhörd. Ruffiga kvarter men nära till tex Union square och kommunikationer. Upplevdes som rent och välstädat men rummen skulle må gott av renovering. Hjälpsam personal men dåligt utbud av service. Snegla istället på systerhotellet Best Western på andra sidan gatan.

Hade lite otur vid ankomst eftersom de haft en vattenläcka i vårt rum. Vi fick ett tillfälligt rum första natten med en extrasäng som varken var ren eller bekväm. Resten av vistelsen var bättre även om ett lite varmare rum hade varit trevligt. Var uppmärksam på att det går att ringa till hotelltelefonen utifrån, vilket resulterade i ett spärrat kreditkort […] för oss (en person som ringde och hävdade att han var från receptionen och behövde vårt kortnummer igen). Området som hotellet ligger i är inte särskilt trevligt, väldigt slitet och många hemlösa som röker crack öppet på gatan. Vi kände oss aldrig otrygga, men kan vara bra att veta om man är känslig. Very environmentally friendly and politically correct approach. Cold room, (only one electric heater, floors were very cold). Hard beds (built using recycled pieces of wood, but nonetheless). Fairly close to Union square etc, but in a neighborhood full of homeless people due to the missions around the area. Rather good price.

Vi (6pers) bodde 4 nätter på hotellet. Personalen var mycket tjänstvillig och vänlig. Standarden på hotellet var bra. Trygg övervakad bilparkering (mot avgift). Morgonmålet fås mot avgift i hotellet. Den är enligt hotellstandarden i USA något spartans. Trafiken på gatan nedanför stör något nattetid, speciellt om man sover med fönstren öppna och råkar […] få rum mot gatan. I övrigt är vi mycket nöjda med vå vistelse på hotellet. kollektivtrafik och Cabelcars finns på gångavstånd så man behöver inte bil för att se SF när man bor på detta hotell.. Läs mer

Great hotel with very good service, free WIFI, free baggage storage after checking out until flight. Super friendly receptionists. You can reach downtown or the great spots of SOMA quickly. Only down-side is that the area has quiet some homeless people. But I guess that's why the Hotel has an Excellent Price level...

Took me looking at 4 rooms to find an acceptable one. Windows looking right into brick walls and no ventilation. Very spartan and not as cool as it sounded to be. No services to speak of. No place really to work in room. Surrounding neighborhood was "rough" to put it mildly.

This is not the first time I've stayed at the Good Hotel but it's definitely the worst. The furniture & carpet in my room was stained. The heat wasn't properly working initially. The hotel's server went down later in the evening...it was I who called to report it...and it did not get fixed until the following morning. I was trying to work and was told […] I would get a call when it was fixed...I never got that call. Finally, I didn't get a sense of quality customer service from the front desk staff. Läs mer

clean & nice hotel - close to all the must-see sights. close and convenient to food eateries too. value for money .... its comfortable :)

Stayed there for 2 days - pretty centrally located downtown. Walking distance to BART. Surroundings are lot's of homeless no danger, all peaceful people.

For the money, I thought the hotel was good value, and I have no complaints really. Room serviced daily. Neat, tidy, clean.

This was a nice clean, simple place with a nice twist. I would certainly stay here again.

It is not too far from Union Square. It's not in the greatest part of town, but it is not too shady. The photo booth is cool, but it cost $5...really?!? All in all it was nice hotel. Very clean, and sustainable. GOOD!

I normally refrain from writing negative reviews because I realize that no facility is perfect and it's unrealistic to expect EVERYTHING to be perfect. I've stayed in really expensive places that should be ashamed to charge what they do and inexpensive places that are a STEAL because of their attention to detail. (see Hotel Current in Long Beach) When […] you consider where this hotel is (downtown San Francisco) and the other hotels in the area, this could EASILY be a five star hotel (or above). However, that would require some effort beyond a charming remodel and a fantastic concept. The staff is "adequate" - and nothing more. We had a devil of a time locating our room because the person working the desk when we checked made no effort to let us know it might be tricky to find (it was upstairs in the back) OR that there was a stairwell right next to it. So until we discovered that ourselves, we hauled our ashes (as well as our luggage) up two flights of stairs and walked all the way around the courtyard. The free wi-fi is absurd. If I can take a brand new laptop into McDonalds or Urban Outfitters and connect with their FREE PUBLIC wi-fi easily, why should I have to call a 1-800 number for support, wait for a call back and then STILL experience a super-slow connection that required continual re-connection in a hotel that I'm PAYING for? I shouldn't. The air-conditioning/heating in the room also needs some fine tuning. It ALSO required a phone call (to the front desk) to figure out, since I read English and not "symbol." And then we were told that to get the heat to come on, we should "turn the thermostat up to 86 degrees and wait at least 15 minutes" for it to begin working. Really? in a hotel that bills itself as "Green"? I think not. The hotel also has some questionable "credit card hold" practices. Hote l is great; good parking lot, good location, the bed is a little hard. It is very stylistic and I wouldc recommend it.

In a rough looking but safe neighborhood. Very friendly staff. Sorta Green as well.

It's a cute little hotel/motel that has been very nicely revamped and decorated with modern colors and decor. For the price, it's an excellent option as far as staying within walking distance of many of SF's wonderful shops, galleries, restaurants, and more. Let me start with the "Good": The concept of a modern/minimalist theme in a hotel isn't a very American frequency, but pretty comfortable if you have traveled to Europe. This place continues that theme. New feeling, minimal amenities, clean. The place reflects a modern theme with eco-friendly ideas. The bed was comfortable. After dark, the 'SoMa' area of downtown SF is ripe with crack dealers, crack heads and hookers. Not the friendliest area in town... The 'minimalist' theme also meant 'minimal' pillows (in number and size), minimal blanket (1 thin blanket, like you would expect at Cousin Eddie's place), and the 'modern' heat system was a trick to turn on, aka we couldn't figure out the flippin control so just went to sleep in a cold room. It was a catch-22 for parking; there was plenty of street parking, but we were scared to leave our car on the street - nobody wants to deal with a broken window and we ante'd the $22 for some peace of mind, the car was fine in the hotel parking. They have two types of rooms, in the building, and in the courtyard. I was in the courtyard room, which was just like a Motel 6, only slightly less comfortable. No desk or chair to speak of. The dresser was so light it tipped over. The couch was stained and needed to be replaced. The alarm clock was not plugged in correctly, and it took me some under-bed […] maneuvering to plug it in. The room itself was very nice, spacious and comfortable. The hotel lobby feels a bit like a hostel but is fine. The neighborhood was not great in the daytime and scary at night. This part of SoMa seems like it may be slowly improving as it's gentrified, but it's still awfully close to the Tenderloin and there are plenty of homeless/crazies/drug addicts […] hanging around and panhandling and yelling at nothing and defecating on the sidewalks. We were woken up at 3am two nights in a row by general noise in the street below. I think that for the price this hotel is fine--the room really was very nice--but if you're not concerned about being super-close to the convention center or federal building or civic center, I'm sure that you can do better than this neighborhood. Hotel was fine, very clean, good bed, etc. Room was on the small side. a desk would have been nice. The neighborhood could be better. the loaner bicycles were a nice touch.

Room rate was very good compared to most other options, and the room was much nicer than I expected. Very small, but perfectly serviceable. My room was not facing the street, so it was very quiet and comfortable. And the best part: they take dogs, so my little buddy could come along. Not the best 'hood -- but I felt safe and sound in the hotel, and […] didn't worry about my car in the tight little lot patrolled by a guard. While the Mission has always had a bad rep, and this hotel is close to the worst of it, keep in mind that the Mission is getting better all the time. Anyway, this hotel is a good deal in SF! Läs mer

this place has the weirdest heaters. It was freezing and I finaly after four calls to the front desk got somone to pick up the phone. They had to send a maint. man to figure out the heater. If you stay here bring ear plugs and sleeping pills. The TV system tries to sell you movies and makes it hard to just watch plain old television. It did have free […] Wi-Fi but everyone staying there seemed to feel the need to slam their doors every time they came or went. Good Luck!!! Läs mer

Excellent value for money and good for all the Downtown locations and 5 mins walk to the BART (for the airport). Rooms are clean, comfortable and well equipped but compact compared to some US Hotels. The neighbourhood is a bit on the rough side (lots of homeless) but I didn't once feel unsafe in and around the hotel.

Very seedy area...older hotel with minimal comfort. The shower in the bathroom barely had any water pressure. Staff on premise not very hospitable and not well informed with surrounding ammenities. Definitely would not recommend...

The accommodations were fine, and the room was small, but manageable for two people with two double beds. However, the noise outside was quite loud (even with the windows closed) and the surrounding neighborhood looked pretty ghetto (and foul smelling). The room was clean and spacious enough. Cute little features and surprises. Liked that it was Eco-friendly. Had a European flare and feel. Secure access on the elevator and stair way as the neighborhood has a lot of homeless hanging out (it's San Francisco after all). Mattress was too firm for my liking and pillows were thin and sparse. Like a budget boutique hotel. Clean and efficient. Close to BART station and city center. Three blocks away from shopping district.

The location of the Good Hotel was amazing. Close to all the main attractions of the city. The parking was atrocious. It is a small one way parking lot and you have to maneuver yourself to get out. If you don't have a compact car, don't bother. Upon arrival, our power was out for 30 minutes (but that was probably not their fault; just inconvenient). […] The front desk staff were helpful in finding everything we needed. There are cars and bikes to rent. Cute decor. Overall, great for the purposes of our trip: to sleep and relax after long days of sight seeing and walking. Läs mer

None of the windows open to allow for fresh air in the room. The AC started leaking water in the middle of the night and in the morning when we started looking at the AC, we noticed a tremendous amount of mold built up in the AC. It's not the most glam hotel, and breakfast is not even included. Bút if you want a cheap hotel close to market street and all of the shops, then this is an ok place to stay at. The double beds were a bit small to sleep two people in, but we managed. Good Hotel is definitely spartan, and the condition has deteriorated a bit since my last stay 2+ years ago, but it is acceptable. The location can be good depending on what you want to do. It's a block from a BART/Muni station in a neighborhood which has been transitioning from skid row to yuppies for the last 20 years or so, but is not as dangerous […] as it looks. Service is friendly and efficient, but they should provide directions to use the thermostat and let you know that hot and cold are reversed in the shower. Läs mer

It was a perfectly fine place if you need a place to crash after a day sightseeing and bouncing around the city, however I found walking out my room into the open air central courtyard/parking lot in the middle of SOMA a bit startling. I wouldn't keep valuables in the room at all, because it's so close to random people walking by on the street. Two […] other pluses: the eco-friendiness, and the staff's attitude. Läs mer

My problem with this place is the location,just too close to a population of vagrant types that also included criminal types.We had a meal in the connected restaurant that was fairly good with some delicious wine they have stocked,but just outside the window was some street-people that just didn't […] look like they were there to invite good things into our lives.But the staff at the restaurant offered the best service we received on our whole vacation. Overall, hotel was ok...though 1st room I had the television was not working and the air conditioner was out. It had been very hot in San Francisco that week, maintenance was sent up to room but he said air conditioner was totally out, so I called the front desk to be moved and first thing I was told by the guy who had checked me in was "don't worry, […] it will cool down". I had to insist on another room that had a working air conditioner. Best part of the hotel, was the dining experience at their restaurant. Great food, wine & Matt (the server); was excellent. Upon arrival we received a free-upgrade! This extremely well kept hotel is in a great central location, with public transit available right around the corner. Will definitely be staying here again.

For a downtown SF hotel, the Good hotel had a fantastic rate and a really nice ethic about it, but unfortunately the great value comes with some tradeoffs. First of all, the location is pretty awful. It is close and walkable to a lot of downtown locations, but you won't want to walk through the surrounding streets, especially at night. The Market St/Tenderloin […] area is populated with crazy people talking into thin air, drunk people, plenty of homeless and beggars, and a persistent stench. The BART station is only one block away but even the station feels dirty, and stinks. The hotel itself is split into two areas, the main building and courtyard. I stayed in the courtyard and it wasn't as bad as some other reviews make out, I didn't have any problem with noise and the kind guy on reception changed my room so I wouldn't be right on the street. I did find the room to be fairly dark and depressing, with a run-down feel despite what was clearly a recent refurbishment. The bathroom was the only spot of light and joy! The Internet connection was free but really slow if that matters to you at all. Läs mer

My family loved the location and the facilities. Very hospitable and courteous staff. Very affordable and convenient. Good Hotel comes highly recommended.
