Hotell Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers - Chicago

Bodde här under fyra nätter i januari, vilket betydde att vi fick ett kanonpris. Hotellet ligger verkligen mitt i smeten, med en bowlinghall/biograf på andra sidan gatan och grym shopping precis runt hörnet. Lake Michigan med dess fina vyer ligger bara några kvarter bort.

The room was nice and the cleaning staff was friendly and thorough. There were 3 times that I called the front desk for assistance. 1. needed a shower cap for my gf. 2. Wireless phone needed a new battery. 3. tub wouldn't drain, and after shower there was over 4 inches of water. Only #1 was addressed. We stayed for a long weekend in Chicago with our 8 year old son. The hotel was very nice, clean and comfortable. We signed up for the free perks program and got a free room upgrade, free in-room mini fridge and a free rollaway bed for our son as well! The beds were super comfortable which is a very nice change of pace from most hotels I've stayed at […] recently. The decor in the lobby was lovely, and our room was updated and modern looking. Our room was on the 17th floor, next to the elevator and I was afraid we might be kept awake at night due to that (I am a light sleeper), but we didn't hear it at all! Our room was so quiet that all three of us slept great both nights of our stay. My son enjoyed the pool and said it was very warm. The location of the hotel was also perfect. Within walking distance to Michigan Ave and centrally located to all of the other sites we planned to visit. Cabs were readily available and the door-men were very helpful and polite. I stayed at this hotel with a colleague for a three day conference at the University of Chicago's Gleacher Center. It was very conveniently located for the conference and just about a mile from the blue line to O'Hare. Every Sheraton employee we dealt with was top notch: kind, pleasant, prompt, and helpful with advice. Really great team. However, the […] hotel is way overpriced. Rooms were small with 2 full size beds that sported extremely dirty bedskirts. Wifi was very expensive (although there was free printing in the lower level cafe, a nice touch). 7 dollar bottle of water in the room sitting on one of those trays that charges you it senses you've touched it. Room cards kept getting de-magnetized... we went through 5 or 6 of them! Hotel bars fine but super expensive too. I wouldn't stay here again. Läs mer

We wanted a location within walking distance to Navy Pier Pinot Days Wine Festival. The hotel allowed us to check in early which was very nice. The only knock on our whole stay was that there was not hot-tub at the pool. If I would have done better research I would have known that.

We did have one maintenance issue when our bathroom sink started leaking. We called the front desk and maintenance was there to fix it within five minutes. They brought extra towels to clean up the water. It would have been nice if they would have cleared out all the extra towels but it was not a big deal. It didn't seem like they cleaned much on the […] second day but we had kind of a mess going on in the room so I'm sure they were limited with what they could do! Very disappointed with this hotel. Firstly, we were allocated a room that looked directly out on a construction site with a large crane dominating the view. The service was quite poor. The staff I would categorize in two ways. The Espanic staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. The "local" staff kept guests waiting and displayed "attitude". We opened […] a bottle of water in the room that the cleaning staff had mistakenly labelled as "complimentary". When I checked out and saw I had been charged $9.30 ($1.89 in 7-11) I disputed it. The checkout staff member reluctantly removed the charge but then proceeded to lecture me and infer that I was at fault for taking the water. I very quickly pointed out that the error was in fact the hotel's and not mine stating that the bottle had been incorrectly labelled "complimentary" by hotel staff. When I offered to bring the complimentary label to the front desk he backed down. However, I do not appreciate being lectured on errors that were clearly the hotel's. For the rate I was paying I expected WIFI but it was only available in the lobby at no charge. WIFI in the room was chargeable. I generally found the hotel "nickeled & dimed" with no free local calling. Overall disappointing. We would not recommend this hotel and we certainly will not be staying here again. Läs mer

the location was nice, right on the river and close to Michigan Ave. However, little things about the hotel room kept it from being awesome. First, the mini bar that not only took up an otherwise useable refrigerator, but also took up the counter space with it's expensive junk food. And they charge you a fee if you move it! Not expecting to pay $45 a night extra for parking! Staff very friendly but they don't know anything about the hotel they work in such as where things are located in and out of the hotel. They had us constantly running to locations where places didn't exist. Got locked in and out of the parking garage our entire stay until I checked out and found out […] what the problem was. My family really enjoyed the location of the hotel. we walked to everything. The boys couldn't get enough of the views of the city, river, and lake. We usually stay at the Hyatt. This was much more friendly and clean.

Overall a good experience but two small things. First, they have a great environmental program and incentives to not change sheets & towels. I love that. BUT, strangely, they do not have recycling in the rooms so all of the recyclables go into the trash. Also, I was shocked to find that a RAIL gin & tonic was $11.50! That was crazy. We were disappointed with the stay...the pool was freezing and the room service food was awful...the wings were soggy and many were "bad" and the veggies with the wings were dried up. Loved the underground parking and access to the hotel. It was extremely convenient and the $41 parking charge seemed fair. The only issue was the shower head in the hotel was not screwed on all the way and it sprayed water on the ceiling in the shower. The hotel was in a great location for walking to shopping, restraurants, attractions. The staff was helpful. We were able to check in early when we arrived in town on the train. The beds were extremely comfortable. All in all, we will absolutely stay here the next visit to Chicago.

We stood the weekend with our kids and it was great. Our first night we walked to Rain Forest Cafe. The next day happen to be a beautiful day so we walked to Navy Pier and ate at Harry Carrey's then walked back to the hotel. We freshened up then walked down the street to Lucky Strike, the cool thing about this place is kids can go before 8pm. Since […] it's walking distance from the hotel it allowed the adults to have a few beers and still play with our daughter. We ended our night with a movie, which happens to be in the same building and they also allow you to drink in the movie theater. The hotel itself is beautiful but the location is even better! Typically I stay at Marriott, but my wife found a good deal on hotels.com for the Sheriton, so I thought we'd give it a try. The people were very friendly, but the room was, well, pretty frustrating. First off, the TV wouldn't work. Just audio, a pixilated frozen screen. After a lot of experimenting, my son and I figured out that we had to turn the […] TV on and off 7-10 times before we could get the channels to work. What makes this more frustrating was that we were rushing back to the hotel to watch our team play in March Madness. Next, we sweated all night long. Even with the thermostat on its lowest setting and the furnace (different control panel) on cold it was still far to hot for a restful sleep. Really frustrating. Lastly, while we booked months in advance, they "only had a handicap room available" and it was on the 8th floor. After paying extra for a river view, we cold barely see it. The only positive was the Concierge. She did an awesome job hooking us up with a great breakfast joint and got us to the front of the line. Soooo..... not good. So many other places in downtown Chicago to choose from — all within $20 of each other. We stayed at the Swissotel last time. Much nicer and much more modern feeling. That's my two cents. Läs mer

Had some issues. Requested a corkskrew to open wine in our room at the front desk was told to call in room dining. IN retrospect would have been better if the front desk would have asked for the delivery of it to our room for us. We went to our room and tried to call and the phone wouldnt work. So i had to call back to the hotel from my cell. Operator […] was helpful - reporte dphone problems and transferred me to in room dining. The maintenance arrived before the corkscree - 10 minutes later. Room temp was a little warm for my liking over night and couldn't figure out the controls to get it below 68 on heat. then alarm clock went off at midnight...not fun. So not the best night sleep. The Sheraton Hotel and Towers in downtown Chicago provided a GORGEOUS view of the lake and Navy Pier from my room, and another stellar view of the river from the lounge. It's a busy, busy hotel with lots people and activity in the lobby, but I could avoid most of that via in-room TV checkout. The location was great and check in and out was quick . The room was clean just never had drink stirrers with coffee or tea and the room. phone stopped working so we could not call room to room The hotel valet was pretty good It is $51.00 a 24 hour in and out Surrounded public parking seems cheaper but you cannot go in and out as many times

Every aspect of hotel accommodations were great EXCEPT for the freezing pool. I and 4 year old grandson were able to stay in for almost 10 minutes tops before calling it quits. Very disappointed, many of the patrons expressed their discomfort regarding the temperature. Pool was actually one of the main reasons for selecting the Hotel. We stayed at the Sheraton for 2 nights. The location was ideal for us and the price for the room was spot on. Parking was pricey but thats Chicago. My only real complaint was with the restaurant on the basement level. The prices were RIDICULOUSLY high and the server and hostess we had were rude and pushy. This was our first overnight at the Sheraton but a hotel I've been at many times for business meetings. The service we received was outstanding but the renovated rooms were already a bit tired...most noticeably in the bathrooms. It was still a clean room but my opinion was swayed when he said we were in a renovated room.

We love the location; however, we were given a room that God knows when was the last time it was used as it was extremely dusty. There was so much dust behind a little couch by the window. The windows God knows when was the last time were cleaned. I was very unimpressed by it. We paid a bit extra to get a nice view to the lake or river.
