Ligger bland de betydligt dyrare hotellen i hjärtat av South beach nära Lummus park. Bor man på Essex har man även full tillgång till Clevelander hotels tjänster och utrymmen. Ett av de bättre partyställena finns i anslutning till The Clevelander. Essex ligger dessutom nära stranden. Rummen är nyligen renoverade och håller bra standard. Hotellet har mycket bra läge då det både är nära till stranden och till shoppingen. Personalen var mycket vänlig och hjälpsam och rummet var riktigt rent. Det fanns beachtowels att låna utan kostnad i receptionen och under stora delar av dagen fanns det gratis lemonad i receptionen. Poolområdet är kanske inte det mest fantastiska, men vill man sola […] kan man låna grannhotellets takterass, som dock saknar pool. De har dock prydnadsfontäner som man kan vada i om det blir för varmt. Det finns inget kylskåp på rummet, vilket var en stor nackdel. Inte heller fick man ha dryck eller snacks på rummet. Vi hade dock godispåsar framme utan att det verkade vara något problem. AC-anläggningen låter en hel del och vi, som hade rummet ut mot Collins Ave, kunde bli väckt mitt i natten av att något "vrålåk" åkte förbi utanför. Duschen hade inte jättebra tryck och det var svårt att få in rätt temperatur. När man duschade kunde det dessutom emellanåt helt plötsligt komma riktigt varmt eller kallt vatten. Rent, fräscht och nyrenoverat. Mycket lyhört och väsen från närliggande klubb/restaurang.

Hotellet är rent snyggt och mycket trevligt. Läget är klockrent ett kvarter från ocean drive. Det är ett klassiskt art deco hus. Det enda jag vill varna för är att det mellan rummen är extremt lyhört.

Hotel staff very friendly, view wonderful and location was great

I would recommend the Essex House for a number of reasons. The employees were very friendly, the hotel was well maintained, the room was clean and adequate and the location of the hotel was great. Close to Ocean Drive with all the activity and available diverse resturants.

best location, nice place too stay

The location could not be better. In the heart of South Beach, and surprisingly without noise at night (several clubs/bars are in the surrounding area). The hotel room was clean but smaller than I anticipated (was in a king room). Guest services were great throughout my stay. Overall, I would recommend to others and would stay again.

Aside from the WORST shower I have ever been forced to use, an air conditioner that sounded like a plane was taking off next to the bed and a bed that almost broke my lower back the Essex House is not bad. The location is central to everything in South Beach. The rooms are clean, spacious, modern, and well decorated. The staff is friendly and accomodating; the happy hour is generous and the bar staff is friendly. Exactly what you would want out of a hotel, all the perks, and non of the fuss. We stayed for 3 nights at the hotel and were very happy with the service. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The free wine and beer during weekdays happy hours is a nice bonus. The only minor inconvenience we had was that we had to go over to the Clevlander to ask for welcome drinks since their kitchen was under construction. One day they also […] ran out of beach towels and we had to again go to he Clevlander for towels. We had a room facing the side street and away from Clevlander. We were not disturbed by the noise but cannot imagine having a room closer to Clevlander for music was pretty much pumping all day and night. I would only stay at this hotel again if i knew for sure that i can have a room not facing Clevlander. Läs mer

The staff was very friendly and helpful and the location was wonderful, but please don't think that you'll be staying at one of the more upscale places for discounted prices. The room was nice, but small; it was clean, but outdated; it was fine, but not great. It worked for us because we weren't planning on being in the room much...

Very friendly staff, welcome drink over at the clevelender hotel and awesome roof acess too. Room was big very clean and decorated nice. Great happy hour at the lobby bar.

Clean, well maintained, pleasant and helpful staff. Rooms are well appointed but small as should be expected of a historical hotel. Definitely recommend and would return.

The hotel is located one block off Ocean Drive in the center of South Beach. I had booked a suite which was located in the courtyard of the hotel on the 2nd floor. The suite is probably more a large room than a suite, however, as such spacious, comfortable and stylishly furnished. The room is calm. The bath-room is bright and spacious. A very conveniently located hotel a short block from Ocean Drive, but priced considerably lower than the ocean front hotels. Maybe not the best for a vacationing family, but fine for a quick stay in South Beach. The room I had was small and a bit dated (most in SOBE are), but clean. The outdoor seating areas were nice. Employees very helpful and nice. Hotel in great location, near the action but far enough away from the noise. Room had musty smell; promised to have several rooms together, but didn't happen. Could hear a pin drop in rooms with connecting doors - avoid. Elevator could only hold 3 persons but short walk up. Valet parking only and nightly charge.

We enjoyed our stay at Essex House and would recommend it to others. The location was great, the staff were all friendly and helpful and the price was good for the area. The hotel itself is quiet, which is great, but you are right next door to the Clevelander so you can party over there. Although an older Hotel it has been updated and the room was very clean. The only negative is that the computer network went down and being a Holiday weekend it could not be repaired. The location is great and in the Heart of South Beach.It is 1/2 Block to Ocean Blvd and the Beach.If you like excitement and Night Life you are in the middle of it.The […] staff was very friendly and helpful. Excellent location and a hotel with character. A little old and hence a little small but highly recommended.

2 of us just before christmas in a suite. nice and roomy. nice bathroom and little sitting area. fair price for location. wish it had a larger pool. no elevator in our part of hotel, but only 1 floor up so no problem. free drinks during happy hour is a bonus, plus free entry to Clevlander for their nightlife. free beach towels and wifi. parking is expensive […] but its south beach. i would return Läs mer

The hotel was a pleasant surprise! My friends were staying at loews and I was more impressed with my room than theirs! The adjacent sports bar, OMG the food was awesome! The buffalo pizza was amazing.....

If you're looking for a well located, easy, cheap and clean hotel, this is a good one. Just stayed over the weekend during the busy Art Basel season and even with crowded streets and surrounding areas, the noise in the room wasnt unbearable. the humming of the aircon drowned out the muffled music coming from somewhere - couldnt figure out if it was […] another room or outside of hotel. The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean which is what really made it for me, with the cleanliness i was OK to overlook the overly soft bed and basic'ness of the room. I have been staying at Essex before it was owned by the Clevelander and they have done a great job of face-lift and modernization. Very easy-to-love hotel in the art-deco area by 10th and Collins. Brogan is THE Mojito Master and the Happy Hour rocks. Only two things I would like to see is new mattresses- Room 216 especially and a muffin at breakfast. […] But all in all, I still love The Essex. Perfectly located, great lobby and rooms. Valet is so convenient. Room was clean and comfortable. I would definately stay here again.

The hotel is a great location. We had a few hic-ups but the Manager John Waechter was wonderful and was very attentive to our dissatisfaction of a couple of things which was fixed as soon as he was able to. The first night because of a problem with one of our party not having a room, a bottle of champagne was sent […] up to us and we got tickets for the popular Mangos which was a great night. We were treated like VIP's for a night. that was a nice feeling for a guest. i will go back to Essex House and will recommend this hotel. I deal location. I felt I was on vacation. The location was perfect,1 street back from Ocean drive where the beautiful beach,clubs,restaurants are.Our Barman Brogan was very nice and made the best Rumrunners and the drinks were very cheap.Highly recommended.

If you are coming to South Beach to party then this hotel is for you. But if you are coming to relax check out one of the resort hotels. Rooms are tiny, bed was very uncomfortable. Location is great! It is walking distance to everything on south beach. Weigh your priorities before booking here.

Stayed in this hotel 5th and 6th November,a great art deco hotel in a great location one block from Ocean Drive and the beautiful Miami beach. The hotel was spotlessly clean with the most friendly staff ever. I checked in early but the room was not ready but i did not have to wait too long and it was worth the wait as we got upgraded to a suite at no […] extra cost a beautiful room. Victor the bellboy was very helpful with our luggage and getting a taxi to the airport $33. Jermaine on the front desk was so helpfull from getting a rental car for me to giving me directions to all the places i wanted to go to and suggesting others a big thank you to him. The hotel has a happy hour every evening with half price drinks, and its sister hotel next door the Cleavelander is a great place to hang out have drink and something to eat from their extensive menu, a lively place. Great location one block from the very nice beach and the strip of restaurants on Beach Drive. Although the hotel next door can be very noisy at night and there is continuous traffic passing the hotel, we did not hear anything from our room, except one night a late night jerk had the TV on very loud.
