Hotell Hotel Modera - Portland

Jag bodde där i.s.m. en "business trip" och tillbringade en del tid på rummet med arbete - mycket väl lämpat för detta med bra skrivbord, eluttag etc. Vi hyrde även konferensrum. Trevlig restaurang "från frukost till middag". Jag är mycket nöjd med min vecka på Modera.

Nice rooms, friendly staff. Smart Waters were $2/$3 - it's refreshing to find a nice boutique hotel that will not gouge you on the small things. Would definitely return.

What I like best is the friendly and helpful staff. Everyone was attentive and had great restaurant recommendations.I just wish that the gym was in the hotel. Rain kept me from going over there. It is close by but a gym in a hotel is always best.

My daughters and I stayed overnight for a Mother's Day celebration. Our room was perfect with 2 queen beds and a lovely bath. We shopped for a few hours, enjoyed happy hour, and had a wonderful dinner at the hotel. All of us liked the location, the decor, and the food! Great overnight stay!

Staff was incredibly nice knowlegable of area. Outside resteraunt was beautiful. There is always a BUT I felt like I was staying in a IKEA room. Not very original and small room with small bathroom. But clean and friendly atmosphere.

In all fairness, I was in this room for one short night as I had a late arriving flight. In summary though, thought the hotel was very nice looking and stylish. Great patio and nice kitchen and bar scene. Guest passes to 24Hour Fitness a short block away was a very nice perk as well. My room was clean and nice, although nothing special. The big challenge […] I had was the noise from the surrounding rooms. I heard everything. A woman and a man having a casual conversation could be heard. I am not sure because its thin walls, shared air conditioning vents, but the noise was the loudest I have heard from all my travels as of recently, and I travel a lot. So something to think about... The location is ideal--right on a Max light rail line and not far from the Portland Streetcar line, it is easy to get to and from. The neighborhood includes several great restaurants close enough to walk to. The hotel itself has a very nice restaurant with a great outdoor seating area. I stayed here when I was traveling around the Portland area for business. It is very convenient to I-5 and the airport. When I was in the room I was at ease. It was quiet and comfortable. There isn't much in the immediate vicinity in the way of food, but there is a lot just a short drive away.

This is my fourth or fifth stay at Hotel Modera. It's great. The front desk staff is super nice. Only issue is that the HVAC is very loud. Not a super big deal--you get used to it.

We really liked the hotel overall. My only complaint is that they gave us a wheelchair accessible room, which meant that we took our showers practically on top of the toilet. I called to see if they had a non-accessible room available, but they were all sold out. We didn't actually eat at the restaurant, but had a beer on the patio by the fire pit one […] night, which was really nice. Lovely hotel and rooms, just more sterile than we like. Very ultra modern, minimilist. If that is what you like this hotel is for you. Furniture in the lobby is extremely uncomfortable but the beds were good.

what i didn't like that they charged 27.00 dollars to park my car overnight at their own parking garage, I would think that for the amount that I paid for a room that the parking would be included. I would not stay here again.

Really nice hotel. Beautiful architecture, very modern (as would be expected from the name) and convenient to everything in downtown Portland. Restaurant in the lobby looks beautiful, though I did not try it; the patio with its fireplaces is lovely. The bed is quite comfortable and furnishings are nice. The only problems was a little street noise.

This is a lovely, modern (dare I say: hip) boutique hotel in the south end of Portland, right across the street from a Portland State University building. It was actually cheaper than the pseudo-swank, high-rise convention hotel, and offered much better amenities and an eager-to-please staff. Nice, modern hotel: it showed particularly in the lobby and the room's bathroom. I particularly liked the furry-looking blanket that was included at the foot of the bed. My girlfriend and I were visiting for the Portland Jazz Festival and we stayed in this hotel. We enjoyed it. The staff was quite friendly, professional, and attentive. I had stayed at hotel modera in the past, and it was much as I remembered. It is in a good location, with the max and streetcar not too far away, and just a short walk to the city center. Overall, the hotel was very clean. I was surprised however, at the condition of the shower. The coating in the tub was missing in places, and the caulking needed to […] be redone. We came there to meet a friend and to celebrate our anniversary. The staff was excellent, and receptive to the fact it was an anniversary, so they took extra steps to make it special (like storing some flowers for me in the back office so that I could spring my surprise more effectively). The food in the restaurant was excellent, the bartenders engaging, […] and the overall hotel atmosphere was calm and zen-like, so I found myself walking around smiling. Excellent place and excellent location. I'm just a week out of there, and I'm recommending it already. We also utilized the (very conveniently located!) health club and the experience was smooth and the club was just what we needed to get the day started right. I gotta mention those animal print blankets. My girlfriend and I never turned back a sheet. The blankets were enough to cover us and keep us warm. It was splendid. The hotel itself is lovely. Clean, modern design but comfortable and cozy spaces as well. Lovely outdoor spaces - would love to be there is summer. Staff is very friendly, helpful and attentive. Nel Centro, the in house restaurant, was very good. The only downside is that there is some noise transfer between rooms. I stayed here for my birthday night, and couldn't have picked a better hotel! I thought the staff was extremely friendly and courteous, the location was perfect for the nightlife of Portland, and the hotel itself was one of the nicest I have ever stayed in. I loved the fireplaces outside, the rooms were extremely cozy, plus having an Ipod dock for music […] was awesome (just stayed at a nice hotel in Whistler Village in Whistler, Canada, and they didn't even have that). We were very satisfied with the look and feel of this hotel. It was a great location, great ambiance, design and a great value. It's annoying that downtwn hotels charge so much or parking, but that seems to be the norm so can't really complain about Modera, specifically, for doing this. The one thing that was extremely annoying to us is that when we […] arrived back to the hotel one evening at 11:02 and went into the bar to try and grab a couple glasses of wine to bring to our room, we were told they closed at 11 even though there were employees sitting at the bar drinking. Not cool. When we tried to then purchase a bottle of wine from the little store on site, the guy at the desk told us that he couldnt help us since the manager had just left for the night with the keys. From top to bottom, the Hotel Modera was excellent. The staff was always friendly, courteous and knowledgable. The room was clean and comfortable. The pass to the 24 Hour Gym a few blocks away allowed us to work out in a full service gym with pool. The valet service was quick, efficient and worth the extra charge. Spent the weekend exploring Portland for the first time, and this was an excellent base. Very convenient to public transportation, and easy walking all over downtown. Everyone was extremely friendly, the room was not generous, but not tiny. Nice amenities, and very quiet. would stay here again!
