Exellent view from the window over he cathedral. Quiet , pieceful ,. Breakfast not so imposing. Can sincerely recomend it and could stay in City hotel next time i will visit Lausanne. Christer Finland

Great location - easy to access public transport (free pass provided in hotel) and to walk to old town (seconds away across the bridge.) The only downside of the place was the noise of people going home from nearby pubs or clubs in the early a.m. (and this is icy December, too!) but that's hardly the hotel's fault and is a corollary of a central location. […] All up, great value and would stay again with no qualms. I was very happy to stay at hotel city. It was a great location not only due to many restaurants and shops being close by but also due to the metro stop 'Bessieres' being immediately outside the hotel. The hotel was fantastic for a person like myself who is not familiar with the city. All the members of staff which I met were very nice and happy to […] help. The only disadvantage I would say is that the hotel is on a main road which leads to the hospital so at times it was quite noisy from the ambulance sirens (not too loud to sleep though). If a room is chosen without a street view I am sure it would not be as noisy. Overall I enjoyed my stay at the hotel and have left Lausanne with fond memories of not only the city, but also of the people. Läs mer

Room decor is definitely dated but they are very clean. Hotel City is just a block away from the Cathedral and the pedestrian zone in the Old City. There are grocery stores and a self-service laundry facility within easy walking distance. I definitely recommend this place!

Great hotel right outside is the metro which was great, didnt really need to use it much though as everywhere is walking distance, hotel gives you a metro card which gives u free metro and bus usage while in lausanne which is included in price of hotel. Right outside the Metro at its top level exit (do not come out of the metro and go down to lower street level) this is a very convenient stopover hotel. Staff are very friendly and professional . This hotel was lovely. We had a nice, large room that comfortably fit three adults. The bathroom was clean and the beds were wonderful. The location is fantastic, right in the city centre, about 5 min walk to the city cathedral and we had a fantastic view of the city. It was a bit loud on Friday night but not unbearably so. I have stayed at this particular hotel several times. It is directly on a Metro stop for convenience and you get a free Metrocard so that is nice. They have added a hot water pot and coffee/tea serviced to the the rooms which is nice as well. It was not there on previous visits. The room was quiet even though it is on a main street. This particular […] room had a very narrow space between the door and sink/refrigerator which made it quite a challenge to squeeze the luggage in but we managed. TV is great, tons of channels. My only complaints are the luggage cart that once was there to help is gone, and internet access costs way too much- almost $30 US per day! Ridiculous in this day. Läs mer

The hotel was modern and efficient. I stayed one night in late January and found the surroundings reasonably quiet. The breakfast seemed a bit expensive, but was of a reasonable standard with a wide choice of fare that suited my requirements well.

Close to center city, reasonably inexpensive, clean, and well-appointed. Not too noisy. No real cons, except for no parking, and a weird entrance area.

Pleasant,comfortable and clean hotel in central location with Metro at front door and provision of complimentary travel pass allowing travel on Metro and buses.No complimentary tea/coffee in room however.

It used to be £3 for wireless internet. Now £5-£6 is getting more common. But 12CHF (£8) is just getting rediculous!!! Not impressed!!! Oh, and the breakast is nice, with a view over the cathedral... If you are prepared to pay 20CHF for the simplest tea and Toast version of breakfast.... What a rip off!! Can Expedia start warning us about the cost […] of these extras?? This is my 2nd time staying here at the Hotel City. I am already planning on staying here again on another business trip in July. I am amazed at how quiet the rooms are considering it is on a busy road and both stay I had the same location over the street. While the carpets are a bit worn (bring slippers) the rest of the room is quite pleasant. Very […] comfortable sleeping and the TV has tons of channels in all languages. There are small conveniences such as the refrigerator in the room that are nice. My only wish is that there was a coffee maker! The bathroom is fine and the water hot. The bathroom fan in my room #503 was making a loud grinding noise to attempt to turn on but then didn't go on and was silent. Otherwise no complaints at all. I don't smoke and am happy it is a smoke free environment. The hotel also provides you with a free Metro card for the the Metro. The Metro stops directly in front of the hotel and is an easy connection from the train station. Very easy to get to the airport in Geneva from the hotel unless you have tons of luggage, then take a taxi. I am looking forward to my next stay in July! Läs mer

The staff is rude. They ask you to leave your room key while you are away. The storage for the room keys, is where anyone can grab your key, no questions asked. It's noisy, right off of an alley next to a night club. No a/c breakfast was awful. Parking is horrible, 3 blocks away and hilly not good for dragging luggage and the hotel in general is hard […] to find. Central of the town but far from the railway station (about 20 min walk). But it is easy to access if you use the metro (2nd stop from GARE Lausanne). When you stay the hotel, you can get the Public transportation card. It was very useful. Little noisy due to tram. City Hotelはローザンヌ駅から3駅目の真ん前にありました。近くにはCoopもMigrosもあり便利でしたが、夜外が騒がしくぐっすり眠れませんでした。バスルームとは別に水道があり、コーヒーを淹れられたのはよかったです。
