Hotell Best Western Royal Zona Rosa - Mexico City

The hotel was clean, in a perfect location close to things to do. The only complaint was the pool, the water was dirty and was way too cold to swim in. I booked the hotel, because I wanted to swim in the pool, but that was not possible. The area around the pool was nice and relaxing and clean.

I stayed three star Best Western 7 days.Rooms were clean, quiet with a good view. I changed my room 3 times cause hotel was fairly busy.In one room internet was not working. Also bathtub was scratched alot and refri is locked and you need to go to lobby and pay 350 pesos for a key (as a deposit) and Tv has a bad signal in all rooms and price went on […] my last day up from 850 pesos to 1736 pesos so I moved my last day to a 4 star Sheraton just a few blocks away to pay 1049 pesos.Also the vendors right in front of Best Western kinda bug me everyday Overall I would return if the price will be normal (bellow 900) again,Otherwise Sheraton was better. Overal ok, rooms are outdated and worn down but clean, cracks in the wall, leaking faucet, beds are extremely hard and Cable (oh well), Front desk clerk, except one , not very friendly, bell boys very attentive and forthcoming, taxi service outside hotel extremely efficient, helpfull and forthcoming and very reasonable. The hotel is older but very clean and comfortable. It is in a great location. In a tourist area but very quiet. We arrived at midnight and we were still able to eat in the restaurant. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Hotel staff very helpful but the noises outside is unbearable. We lived on the 16th floor for 7 days and couldn't understand why "construction noise like those making foundation" goes on 24/7. Turns out it's something else. Next to the hotel (the side overlooking the castle in the far distance) there's a tunnel, inside which has some areas replaced […] by metal pieces. EVERY time a car goes over it makes some sounds amplified by the tunnel effect! Very hard to sleep with these bangs, bangs, bangs. The bathroom drainage also has bad odor coming out. But the location is good, with Zocalo (National Palace, museums, cathedrals) on the right; and Chapultepec Park (Anthopology museum, etc. ) on the left. We paid 1/3 of the fee when the taxi is run on meters. But hotel taxis are always available right outside, so you pay more for the convenience. Läs mer

I was at the hotel during 17 days. Good location, it's near to restaurants and other central attractions. The hotel was fine, and the rate I got was really good! Overall I was satisfied. It is not a 4 star hotel, it's more lilke a 3 stars as it's a little bit old.

Great location! My room was a a tad small than the average state-side hotel but comfortable. Large bathroom, lots of windows with a decent view. The internet was down for two days during my stay but was restored the night before I checked out. Liked the sky deck and the small plunge pool

Was very disappointing. It does not seem necessar having paid the purchase package flight and hotel, with expedia, that they ask me not to use the safebox, in the room without leaving a deposit.. otherwise unpleasant, because you can not even leave the room key at reception. Most disappointing was the shower. Water came out too slow. The bed was a bit hard. The pillows were great! Couldn't sleep, too much noise outside. Didn't like climbing so many steps to get into the hotel, especially when they're wet. Didn't like being on the 16th floor.

I stayed at this hotel on two seperate occasions. The first time I stayed in what they consider "the penthouse" (I didn't know that at the time of booking though). It was basically just another room at the top of the hotel. The day after I arrived, I didn't appreciate the early morning wake up to them drilling tiles etc off the pool. They gave no notice […] that work on the pool was happening. Which also meant that there was no pool for the 3 days that I stayed there the first time. The beds were as hard as a rock. So much so that I actually attempted to pull out the sofa bed to sleep on only to find that just as bad. The springs on it were sticking into my back. I didn't really have much sleep for those few days. I probably wouldn't have stayed there the 2nd time but I was staying with a tour group there. The bed and room were about the same. The restuarant staff were pleasant. There was only one guy in there that spoke english but he was very friendly & helpful. The food was average but edible. All in all it's not a bad hotel if you don't mind a hard bed.! The only reason I probably wouldn't recommend it is because of the hard bed. And if you like to swim the pool is very small. The hotel failed to mentioned that the entire roofdeck and pool area was under construction and continues to list that it has all those amenities. The staff while proficient are far from friendly -- they get the job done but there isn't a lot of smiles here. I never write recommendations, but was so unsatisfied with the service and general attributes of this hotel that I felt I needed to. During a weeklong business trip, I was complete in awe of the lack of service from its hotel staff. Anything that I asked for was a chore to get done, and when I would ask for something simple like a pair of scissors to […] be brought up to my room, their answer was we don´t have any, or when I asked if they could please help me find a number for an office in Mexico City (because the internet connection was not working at the moment) the response of the fonrt desk woman was that I cannot make local calls from the room?! The hotel was near Reforma, but the surrounding streets directly next to the hotel were horrible. I also felt the cleanliness of the hotel was not good, the common areas as well as the room itself felt dingy. Very nice place we enjoyed our stay. Just a couple concerns my big towels never got changed which was okay, but a little odd. Just one concerned would have liked a little more of security for the front desk.

We had a great room with a wonderful view of all of Mexico City. The roof terrace had an even more spectacular view and the small pool was very charming. Our only objection was the extremely slow service when we ordered dinner at the roof terrace bar. 15 minutes after ordering we were notified that the kitchen were out of some ingredients so we had […] to change our order. I have stayed in a lot of hotels and the beds at Best Western Zona Rosa are horrendous. I have never slept on such a hard surface which a hotel called a bed-- more like a concrete slab with sheets on top. Besides the beds there were no other issues with the hotel. The staff were nice, the rooms were clean, and the area around the hotel was fun and lively […] with great restaurants and nightlife. If you can handle rock hard beds and poor quality pillows, stay here. Other than that, bring a mattress topper and sleep on a couple of dozen towels. Läs mer

When I got to the hotel (5:00 PM) the room was not ready. I was under the impression that breakfast was included and it was not. The area where the hotel is located is not as safe as it was told to me. Overall I was not satisfied with the place. In the future I'll make sure I do my homework better. Thanks.

The room was great. The Location was close to everything. The bed was hard as a rock and the shower kept on getting hot then cold. I would stay there again, but they should fix the shower temperature and get a softer bed.

We stay a few hours at the hotel... just and overnight stay. Good service at the reception, clean room, OLD bathroom... I would say, complete hotel, with basic services in regular/good shape, good service from people, parking included. I found this hotel to meet all my needs. The rooms were clean and the air conditioning worked well. The WI-Fi also worked without problem/delay. Some may find the beds to be hard; I would agree, but the bedding was changed every day and was crisp/clean. I had no need to interact with the front desk other than to check-in and check- out. I did not notice […] if they spoke English. The hotel quests were quite diverse with a good number of Europeans. I did not notice any angry quests complaining while going in-n-out the lobby. The hotel is located at the end of the street, well away from the clubs. The entrance to the Metro was around the corner. I would stay here again. I liked the hotel and the area. Läs mer

Modern hotel in a central part of Mexico. Pool and gym both on 16th floor with great views of the city. Metro extremely close. Very nice and spacious rooms. Only real downside were the elevators in the hotel. Only 2 elevators for a 16-story building was ridiculous. Wait times of 5 minutes common.

This is the 3rd time I stay in this place. Didn't write a review the first 2 times but here is a summary of all of them: Excellent location: Very close to Paseo de la Reforma with its many monuments and well located in the district called Zona Rosa far from any nightclub, but yet right inside this cosmopolitan and diverse neighborhood. It has a well […] equipped gym, a little swimming pool, and a nice pent house patio from where one has a nice view from Mexico City. The room was clean and with enough space for the two of us (even 4if you were that many). The bathroom reasonably spacious and clean. Bad cable TV (half of the channels were rainy) and the A/C didn't really cool that much, but in our room (the last time) there was a ceiling fan that together with the A/C did the job. The personal was nice and courteous at all times. The printer at the business center didn't work so that was a little inconvenient. I will stay again here in my future stays in Mexico City Läs mer

Everything was fine the only bad thing was the bed they are very hard is like sleeping on the piece of rock, very uncomfortable. I requested a piece of foam to place it on top of the mastress and they didn't have it, other than that is ok. I you are very picky with the bed don't bother staying here.

Nice hotel. We especially liked that it was steps away from the subway (Insurgentes) - good access to everywhere in the city. The steam room is great (you have to book it though if you want to use it). The pool (more like a hot tub) outside was a nice touch. Our room was really nice, but the bed was a bit hard (I slept like a log, but that's just me, […] might not be for everyone). The staff were generally nice, but don't talk to them about booking trips unless you really want to go - they will book you. English might be a bit of a problem (there was one guy that spoke pretty good English at the front desk - name starts with R - Regio or something like that), the other staff speak very little English. I would definitely go BACK. Was a great stay and we both enjoyed it. It was also quite affordable for the location. Walking distance to the Angel Independencia - great pictures. You could also walk from here to the Zocalo, but it takes a while (we did it, but we like walking). Easy access to Zocalo by Train. You can also take train then bus to the Pyramids (pretty easy and bus costs ~ $3 dollars US from North Central station). Overall, very nice hotel, area seems quite safe (lots of police presence). On Thursday night, it becomes more lively (lots of pubs, bars playing music etc.). You should try the Argentina Steak house (walking distance), reasonable cost, but very good.
