Excellent value,good service,clean bright room

Room was nice a big -- a surprise. The bed was comfy. The bathroom could use a bit of an update - a bit old looking, but otherwise it was a good stay, great price and perfect location for what I needed.

I might even stay here again, but apart from the lobby the rooms and halls look a little tired and dated. I thought the rooms were too warm so had to keep the window open and listen to drunk shouting all night (from Granville).

Good price value based on location, room cleanliness, comfort and size. Lobby and hallways are dated. Would be nice to see the exterior power washed. Would stay again.

Very noisy neighborhood. Hard to sleep

Hotel is in great location to explore Vancouver's highlights including Yaleville and Granville Island. There are two buildings, a tower building and a second 3 story building, we were in the 3 story. The room was very nice and roomy but you had to access the building off an allley and the windows were all clouded glass so no natural sunlight. The room itself was fine, but I had to cross a back alley to get there. There is a main hotel and a "courtyard" separate from the main building. Once you get in the courtyard it's nice, but it is inconvenient crossing the back alley everytime. The neighborhood seems to be somewhat rough. I went on a short two block walk at 10 pm and it was obvious […] that this was a type of party district with people using various substances. There were a number of police cars on patrol. In summary, the room itself was fine, no complaints there, but be forewarned of the surrounding area and the back alley journey to get to your room if you aren't in the main building. Läs mer

My girlfriends and I frequently stay at this hotel for our girls weekends and have always been pleased with the accommodations, hotel staff and especially the location! It's right beside the Granville Entertainment District & is a 5 minute walk to Yale Town. You can park your car when you arrive and not worry about driving until you leave.

I have stayed @ this hotel before but it has been upgraded and updated. It is a short walk to rapid transit, Yaletown, downtown Vancouver and to the seawall. Added bonus in our room there was a fridge and microwave which is handy.

They gave me a room that had no elevator access on the third floor of another building. It was very difficult to get hot water for a shower, very limited.

Best Western Chateau Granville is a good value for the $ overall. The service is pleasant and the rooms well laid out, clean and organized. The only downside is the surrounding neighborhood that seems to stay up all night with a fair amount of noise. Overall I recommend to stay here, but bring your earplugs!

Our first room was not cleaned and we were upgraded to a bigger suite and given complimentary breakfasts. Wonderful service from great emplyees. A definate return.

I stay here every year in Jan - Feb and every year they are excellent. Good location, very nice rooms and just a great place to stay at a great price. Sincerely, Jorge

The best hotel I have ever stayed at of the Best Western chain of hotels, and I have visited a lot of them.

We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past few years and always thought it was very noisy on the street side. This time, we were given a room in the courtyard behind the hotel which was peaceful and convenient. The Hotel was great. We were in the Courtyard extension. Was worried when we had read the reviews about crossing an alleyway to get to this room. It was fine, the room was great, clean and quiet. The Hotel is centrally situated in Vancouver so quite easy to go anywhere without a vehicle.

I don't normally like to give bad reviews - but this hotel was by far one of the worst I've ever stayed in. First, the neighbourhood is SCARY. If you're staying in the "Courtyard", it means you have to cross a creepy back alley to get to it. Second, the shower was worse than I've experienced in developing countries. The sound proofing was non-existent. […] We could hear every word that the people in the room next to us were saying, and there was a group of drunk club-goers standing right outside our window at 2am for about an hour screaming and yelling. Having said all of this - the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. The bed was also very comfortable. The rooms in this hotel were fairly nice and spacious. The place was adequate for the money. But the hotel needed a renovation. The rooms and furniture felt old, and the TVs were old style TVs, not flatscreens (these days that's really typical for more than bargain hotels). Also, our room was freezing cold on the first night of our stay. We had to set […] the heat to 90' in order to not be freezing under the covers. The second day the room warmed up, so it seemed like the heat had just been off for awhile, but it's just not satisfactory to have to stay in a room that's ice cold. Also, the wifi was pathetically bad - a real joke. It was so bad that we could barely check email or look up maps over wifi, let alone stream Netlfix or something. our room had not been updated in a while, but the hotel is a great stay good location good staff clean rooms.

Heater in my room didn't work. Yes, I could have called, but it was almost 1am by the time I made it back to my room and was leaving the next morning at 7am. I only stayed one night, but slept with the extra blanket, plus full pj's, my winter coat, gloves and mittens. Otherwise, room was small, but very clean.

A quick, convenient over-nighter....not too much to comment on.

the room and all of its amenities were more than i had anticipated. Larger room, great decore, comfortable king size bed with micro wave and fridge. wonderful view of one of Vancouvers major streets and a great balcony. Parking very convenient and completely safe in a not completely safe part of the city.

With this hotel, all you are paying for is location. The rooms are nothing to write home about but the location is ideal. We were there one night for a concert and could just walk to and from the concert location. The bed was decent and clean which is what I expected from Best Western. There were three tiny windows which were all frosted so you couldn't […] see out of them and they did not open so it made the room feel a little claustrophobic. It was nothing fancy and quite out dated, but if you're not spending much time in the room and want to be in this location then it's just fine. the court yard room provide me with no view and with frosted windows it felt like a dark closet...

We stayed one night in the hotel, as we were leaving the next day for a cruise. Great location within Vancouver, half hour walk to Port Vancouver, retail stores nearby.

Booked reservation on line and it said we could check in at 2 pm. When we got to the hotel they said their check-in time was not till 3 pm.

We booked a suite and it worked out great for our large family. It was easy to find and easy to park our car. The room was a bit dated but clean and had everyhting we expected/needed. The sliding glass doors out to the balcony was bolted shut so we couldn't use it but the city views through the windows were quite nice especially at night. This hotel did not have a pool at the site, it was 5 minutes away. It was difficult to get access to the stairwell at times. The room was good. The hotel is located in a very busy part of downtown.

Instead of having a room int he tower (which is all the hotel.com ad mentioned), we were given a third floor room in the 'courtyard', behind and across an alley. No view, no elevator and the TV was at 90 degree angle to the bed (the room was a good size). The surrounding area is convenient but a bit 'shady'. The hotel itself was OK. The room was clean but quite small despite having a suite. In comparison to other hotels I have stayed at it is NOT worth the price. During the day and the night there are beggers and homeless EVERY WHERE - expect that you will be asked for money or cigarettes as soon as you leave the front door. At night it is loud and the […] rooms don't have much in terms of sound proofing. Even on the 12th floor you can hear the noise outside! You know what you are getting with the Best Western brand. The location gets noisy at night, especially on weekends.

We took a cruise to Alaska and boarded from Vancouver, i read the reveiws and was a little shaky on this hotel, but the hotel was GREAT! The staff was great, friendly and made us feel welcomed. We went the day after the Vancouver riots from the Hockey game and it was nice to see the city taking such quick action and getting things back in order. We […] saw some of the broken glass on the street and everyone kept apologizing for the few that got out of hand, there is a XXX store across the street, but if you head behind the building there is a very nice little shopping area that reminds me of Austin or Boulder Co.
