Bra hotell & nära till allt. Lush hade satt sin prägel med alla dofter som var framförallt i reseptionen.Mycket lyhört mellan rummen bredvid.Trevlig personal.

the fact that we had to drag our suitcases 1,5 km from one of the very few car parks in Edinburgh. The hotel is in Princes Street which is currently undergoing construction work and therefore impossible to reach by car. The room we got was spacious and newly redecorated with a super nice bathroom but we could not sleep a wink since it faced a small […] back street were lorries and vans came and left all night loading and unloading things to the warehouses in the street. The windows were of course single glazed (this is Britain 2011!) thus did not reduce any noise from the street below. I had expected some kind of compensation from the staff, they could for example have offered us breakfast. But no, they regretted the situation but nothing more. Läs mer

Very central hotel, clean but old and warn down. Elevator very small and slow. Expensive breakfast which we did not try, went out to shop around the corner. OK because it is so central.

Allt var till belåtenhet, förutom en lite halvsur dam i receptionen på kvällen och den urusla utsikten mot bakgården.

Eftersom det var ett flertal små trappavsatser från gatuplanet till Receptionen som låg på plan 1 , allt från 2 till 7-8 trappsteg, till synes utan hiss får vi nog anse hotellet är olämpligt för personer med handikapp ex. rullstolsbundna. Vid incheckningen betalas även en depositionsavgift på £25 som visserligen påstods kommer att återbetalas inom 14 […] dgr om rummet lämnas utan anmärkning ! Centralt, stort rum, bra städning, allt var kanon med detta hotell. Central, big room. good cleaning, everything was good with this hotel. Rekommenderar detta till fullo!

I liked this hotel alot. Its in a perfect location, near the old town. I had a perfect view over the caste and over the old town from my window. The room was very clean and had a very nice bathroom. There was a bar beside the reception, where you can take a beer and relax after spending time on Edinburgh. The hotel also close to both local busses and […] the airport bus is right outside the hotel. I had no breakfast in my booking and found it a bit expensive to buy. I went to the museum right over the street and eat a georgeus breakfast instead. You also have a Mc Donals right by the hotel if that is more of a breakfast for your taste;) Läs mer

Rummet var väldigt fräscht med skön säng och lyxigt badrum. Utsikten var inte så fin (rakt in i väggen mittemot, någon sorts innergård) och hotellkorridoren kändes som att den hade behövt fräschas upp. Men eftersom rummet var så fint och läget på hotellet är så bra gjorde detta inte oss någonting. Det är ca 3 minuters promenad till tågstationen med […] flygbussarna eller tågen som leder en vart som helst i Skottland. 10 minuter till Royal Mile och bara en minut till den park som man kan korsa för att ta sig upp till slottet. The Old Waverley blev en positiv överraskning. Även om rummet inte var stort så fanns där allt man behöver och allt var fräscht. Personalen var trevlig, hotellet kändes hemtrevligt trots att det var stort. Läget var perfekt och jag hade "a room with o view"!

Stort och rent rum (så rent det kan bli med heltäckningsmattor förstås). Nyrenoverat och fräscht badrum. Kanonbra läge! Vi bodde på andra våningen och hade fönster ut mot Princes Street. Om man är känslig för trafikljud bör man definitivt ta med öronproppar... Vi är mycket nöjda med vår vistelse på Old Waverly Hotel. Fantastiskt bra läge, in the middle of everything, Vi fick dessutom ett rum med den bästa utsikten. Från sängen såg vi slottet, parken och allt det vackra. Stort rum, litet badrum som dock var nyrenoverat och mkt fräscht. Hotellet har många trappor, som man måste gå upp och ner i innan man kommer till hissen.Dvs inget för den som har svårt att gå i […] trappor. Det andra som var riktigt irriterande var den starka doften som spreds i hotellet hela tiden. Vi kom fram till att det måste ha med tvålbutiken att göra,som låg vägg i vägg med hotellet. Förmodligen delar de på ventilationsanläggningen. Det var en mycket stark doft av tvål och olika blomdofter hela tiden. Det luktade inte illa men väldigt väldigt starkt, och kan säkert ställa till problem för den som är allergisk. Hotellet är helt rökfritt, men de som bodde i rummet intill vårt, rökte och denna rök kom in i vårt rum. Vi påtalade detta för receptionsperonalen och de agerade direkt, och rökningen upphörde, bra gjort av personalen. Vi beställde roomservice, var tvungna att betala kontant vid leverans. Vi fick aldrig vår växel tillbaka trots att flickan som kom sa att hon stax skulle komma tillbaka med den. Det var endast 1 pund så pengen var inte stor, men vill vi ge dricks så vill vi göra det av egen vilja, eller hur? Men som vi skrev inledningsvis, underbart läge, kan inte bli bättre. Läs mer

Very nice hotel in the centre. nice staff and clean rooms.

Perfect location in the middle of it all, walking distance from train station, old city, new city. Out room was pretty small and not much light, but it was on the less expensive end if the rooms in the hotel. Breakfast is a buffet, eggs, brownies, sausages, etc, cereals, juice. Reception Staff are not friendly or helpful . the hotel is in the city centre ,therefore it is very noisy.

Rooms very comfortable and spacious: bar and lounge also good. However, breakfast rather basic and expensive for what you get. Overall the staff are very friendly and are anxious to please. An excellent location for visiting Edinburgh City Centre. we could not be put up in the hotel but were directed to the holyrood apartments which filled all the boxes above.It was like a home from home handy for all the amenities .I will drfinately book i n there again and in facy hope to book in the end of September for at least 2/3 nites

Hotel was small but comfortable, great location close to Waverly Bridge, up Cockburn Street (on which you can find great Indian-Nepalese restaurant Gurkha) to pedestrian walkway to castle and shops , friendly & helpful staff. Great value. Parking off-site, but discount given and just a short walk between parking garage and hotel. Would recommend.

Along the main street, close to rail and bus station( short walk). Museum, shops and eats very close. Not to neglect Rose Street rounsd corner from hotel, a vehicle free street with eats and drinks at an arms length, plenty of shops and very idylic surrundings, lovely, lovely little street.

I liked this hotel. It was close to Old Town, easy access to everything, and was nice for an older hotel. The room was really warm though. We open the windows but there was a smell coming in from outside. They did provide us with a small fan that we had to repair, though. Breakfast was not that great. Overall it was a good value. Great location, clean and fairly basic. But no compaliants.

The hotel has an ambient atmosphere and is perfectly sited in the heart of Edinburgh.

This hotel is in a perfect location for us. The room was great as well. The only real complaint I have is that I was deceived about WIFI. All the advertisements specify that the Old Waverley has WIFI, however, they don't tell you that you have to pay for it. I was deceived. Other then that all is good. Found it difficult to get in door with large heavy suitcase and could not manage stairs on my own, but otherwise very good. Would recommend it.

For business I stay in Edinburgh most weeks and tend to shop around-I have stayed in a lot of Edinburgh Hotels. My visit to OWH was not a happy one; noises from adjacent rooms;the lift;the stairwell;the hallway;traffic outside. Hotel is very conveniently located for both new and old town. Did not have Breakfast or Evening Meal in hotel as there were hidden extras which made it quiet expensive. Hotel was very clean and we were happy with our two single rooms. Staff were friendly apart from one exception. A really good hotel, although I was a bit disappointed to see my tiny window was facing dirty windows of another building about 5 feet away rather than more spacious landscape. Really good location to Royal Mile, Arthur's Seat, train station. This was my first visit to Scotland and I was thrilled with the "old world" atmosphere of the hotel. There were some renovations going on so I was disappointed we could not sit in front of the fireplace, but the staff was friendly and the downtown location was convenient to transportation to the airport. The hotel allowed us to check in at 11:30 instead of 3 which is always a bonus! Surrounding area great. Bus line to airport is right across the street. We paid a little more for a room with a view and it was worth it. Hotel staff friendly. Wireless is not free and is a hit or miss. But a lot of the surrounding pubs have free wi-fi. An ideally placed hotel within a couple of minutes walk from the waverley station. The location is also excellent for going anywhere in the city centre. The room was clean and well furnished the bathroom especially. The staff were polite and helpful. All in all a good hotel in a fabulous city. Hotel fine. Location exceptionally fine. Food good. Unable to book in until 15.00 which is somewhat OTT, but are able to leave luggage before then.
