I booked this hotel because it was close to "Walkway Over The Hudson". I'm not a very picky person, however, cleanliness is important to me. The hotel is a bit overly priced but I'm still glad I stayed here. The staff was nice (freshly baked cookies was a nice touch) , breakfast was decent and they offer 24 hour coffee and tea, plenty of parking spaces […] (although it seemed the hotel wasn't full), and free internet. Our room was clean with the exception of a strand of hair that I found on my bed, nice size with a sofa bed and coffee table. The bathroom was a good size and the view would have been awesome had we stayed during the summer as it was on the first floor, room 104 and faced the outdoor pool. We stopped in Poughkeepsie to visit Vassar college in town and Colombia and NYU in the city. The location is great. Train station is literally 5 minutes away. So, we took the train to Grand Central ($22 peak time and $17 return) which worked for us as I did not want to deal with finding parking in Manhattan. Service at the hotel was A plus. The room was pretty nice and comfortable. The shower head was terrible and the drain plug was broken. Does not result in a very pleasant showering experience. Other than that it was a decent place for an overnight stay.

I've stayed here many times to visit my daughter attending The Culinary. Very convenient, clean, and friendly staff, so I will definitely stay again. There were warm chocolate chip cookies on the front desk when I arrived, perfect to unwind after a long trip with a cup of tea from the 24 hour beverage station. great customer service, clean and spacious rooms. requested adjoining rooms w/my 88 yr old father and they were able to do that which helped me relax. great place when i head back home to pok for a visit

My daughter and I needed a reasonable overnight stay close to the Hudson line train station. This fit the bill perfectly. Easy to get to, convenient to the station. We felt the staff was especially pleasant.

Room was very clean and comfortable. The Staff was very friendly and helpful. The only draw back was there was no place to eat with in walking distance. Since I didn't have a car that was a bit of a problem. Next time I visit I will rent a car. I would definetly stay here again.

We had absolutely zero complaints about this place. It was clean. We only called the front desk once to ask a question and they answered promptly (around 2AM). Nothing sketchy about it. All good on our end, and a reasonable price. We only needed to stay for 24 hours, but it would've been comfortable for up to a weeks stay.

I am a senior citizen and was traveling alone from the Stewart Int'l Airport for the 1st time at nightfall. After taking a bus, a train and a taxi, I finally reached the hotel and was very happy to do so. Everyone, every step of the way was very helpful and the hotel personnel was as well.

The front desk staff was friendly and experienced. The room was clean and appointed nicely but a little over priced. The breakfast had pretty much all instant or pre-made. It was okay at best; would have liked some fruit and natural cereal options.

Overall it's a great place to stay. Roomy and clean with a large refrigerator and a microwave. Free breakfast could use some more variety though. It's only two miles from the world's longest elevated walking path...the Poughkeepsie Walkway. A must see.

Our room had a very strange shower...It seemed awfully powerful (no way to change it) and the shower curtain did not keep the water from going all over the floor. Continental Breakfast was very nice. Excellent hotel ... clean, comfortable and convenient. We had two rooms, one for us and one for our daughters. Both were outstanding. Breakfast was excellent, and hotel's location was perfect for our weekend plans. Would definitely stay there again without hesitation.

the rooms are always clean. no problem with the service.if there is a problem it is resolved with out any excuses. for example: the first room given us had very loud guests next door. could hear them over the t.v. the manager at the desk changed our room immediately,no problem.

Pretty surprised that this this hotel was given such a high rating. It was at best very average and not one bit better than other less expensive hotels in the area.

The hotel was fine for a college visit. Very clean. Our only complaint is that most of the channels listed on the card in the room did not have a signal.

We checked into the hotel, took a shower in fifteen minutes, and left. We returned that evening, gathered our two bags, and checked out. It smelled like cigarette smoke, was musty, and humid. Couple that with the fact that we had to wait ten minutes for a broken elevator and it was horrible.

My 2nd visit to this Holiday Inn Express to visit my daughter at the CIA, and as good as the 1st. Great staff; very helpful; and I had a free, surprise upgrade from a double to a king room when I checked in. Pool and exercise room are very nice; very filling and hot b'fast items; only complaint is the ADA bathroom was nice and spacious, but the toilet […] paper was on the opposite wall from the toilet: not an easy reach for me, so can't imagine how disabled would manage. Overall, the staff here is outstanding and go out of their way to try and help you / see to your needs. They are very concerned with your comfort. Overall this place is a nice stay. Clean and neat rooms. The breakfast sucks (the food is more like synthetic). The service at the reception is mediocre (at its best)...otherwise, all well.

We were in town for a soccer tournament in Highlands.. this was very close and had a variety of places to eat nearby. The room was very clean and the A/C was EXTREMELY COLD!! Which I loved and controlled myself!! The pool was great for the kids! Will stay here again next year!!
