Trevligt välkomnande. Litet men mysigt rum. Rent och fräscht. Negativt att inga fönster var riktade utåt. Fantastisk frukost! Perfekt läge för det vi ville ha ut av vår vistelse, mitt i centrum, nära Aker Brygge.
Läge.
Scandic Byporten ligger i Oslo nära Oslo-katedralen, Oslo stadshus och Akershus fästning. I närheten finns även Nobels fredscenter och Munch-museet.
Hotellegenskaper.
På detta hotell med miljövänlig profil kan man äta på restaurang, café och bar/lounge. Kostnadsfri trådlös Internetanslutning finns i allmänna utrymmen. Detta hotell har 4 stjärnor samt har affärsinriktade bekvämligheter, inklusive företagscenter, mötesrum och ljud- och videoanläggning. Personalen kan hjälpa till med bokning av guidade turer och valutaväxling. Ytterligare bekvämligheter omfattar spelhall/-rum, flerspråkig personal och presentbutiker/tidningskiosker.

Visa alla hotell i OsloMycket bra läge om man ska se sig om i Oslo. All sorts kommmunikation finns precis utanför. Trots att vi bodde bredvid centralstationen blev vi inte störda av ljud och väsen. Bra frukost med mycket att välja på. Sköna sängar och bra med varsin läslampa. Vi är jätte nöjda.

"Scandic Byporten - mitt i Oslo"
Hotellet ligger inbyggt i järnvägsstationen. Perfekt för alla som anländer med tåg till centrala Oslo. Gångavtsånd till teatrar, restauranger i centrum lisom till Aker Brygge. Tunnelbana, spårvagnar och bussar finns bara 100 meter från hotellet. Scandic Byporten är vårt favirithotell i Oslo

"Hotel Scandic Byporten i Oslo - Mycket centralt"
Fräscht hotell med bra frukost och trevlig personal. Nära till allt och precis vid centralstationen.
"SJ Prio"
Som SJ Prio kund är man lovad värdecheckar på Scandic men det har jag aldrig fått när jag checkat in. Annars är hotellet bra och personalen trevlig.
Bra läge men ganska slitna rum. Opersonligt hotell.

"Håll i bordet vid frukosten"
Byporten håller normal Scandic klass. Frukostutbudet är bra, dock ligger frukostmatsalen i en restaurang bredvid hotellet. Lokalen är lite konstig så det är svårt att hitta bord och har man väl hittat bord gäller det att markera väldigt tydligt att man sitter där. Hade själv markerat med full kopp te och 2 fulla glas juice och gick för att hämta mat. […] Döm om min förvåning när jag kommer tillbaka och det sitter en gubbe vid mitt bord. Han hade beordrat personalen att städa bordet och de hade inte vett nog att säga nej. Personalen hade inte ens vett att be om ursäkt och ställa till rätta. "Fint hotell men dåliga grannar"
Hotellet är fint och rent och personalen är hjälpsamma och trevliga. Frukostbuffén är bra så när som på att det saknas bär till yoghurten och att det inte finns juice, utan bara illasmakande "blanddryck" med socker och kemikalier istf riktig frukt. På kvällarna är det tyvärr väldigt mycket knarkare på torget en bit från entrén, men inte värre än att […] man kan sitta på uteserveringen på den tillhörande restaurangen. Läs mer

"Oslo Grand Prix Weekend"
Ett mycket trevligt bemötande redan i receptionen. Lugnt och tyst på kvällen trots det centrala läget. Vaknade till en dignande frukost som var den bästa jag upplevt på många år. Jag har ca 50 hotellnätter /år att jämföra mot. Gång avstånd till allting i centrum Detta sammantaget gör Hotellet mycket prisvärt.

"Byporten - läget med stort L"
Byportens läge är oslagbart, mitt i sta'n, mitt i en köpcentrum, precis vid centralstationen och dessutom med restaurang Egons. En svårslagbar kombination. Den enda direkta dåligheten är att man inte kan få svalare än 20 grader på rummet. Det gör att besökets totalpoäng dras ner rejält. Men om Byporten gjorde något åt detta, skulle jag lätt ge hotellet […] högsta betyg. Läs mer

The Scandic Byporten was right outside the train station and close to the bus depot, making it very handy if you are only in Oslo for a day. It is also within walking distance to the old part of Oslo. The hotel rooms were small, but comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was included and there was a lot of food to choose from. No bathtub or toiletries, just […] liquid soap. The hairdryer over-heated quickly. I arrived an hour before check-in, and had to wait for my room, but they had a large storage room for luggage. Very good location right next to the railway station. We were very disappointed that there was no electric jug in the room or tea`/coffee. We would very much have liked to make ourselves a cuppa.

The hotel has good standard and is just a few minutes away from the central station in Oslo, which makes it ideal for business trips with meetings in central Oslo. The rooms have all the facilities you need, and the breakfast at the nearby Egon restaurant is good, and varied enough to satisfied most needs. The staff was competent and friendly. The […] main drawback of the location unfortunately also showed itself while we were there. Oslo S has it's share of criminal elements, and these roam the area around the station. "Excellent location"
Great location, particularly for a first timer to Oslo. The hotel is right beside the central rail station so is easy to find. Breakfast buffet is good but gets busy. Rooms are small but functional and comfortable enough.

Couldn't have been more convenient, just out the door of the train station and a few steps right on the plaza! Staff was pleasant and accommodating. A wonderful restaurant was available for the included breakfast and otherwise. Would definitely stay there again.

Location is very convenient to Oslo S station, but hotel does not deserve 4 star rating. Cheapy towels and sheets and tiny rooms and not stellar service compared to other Scandic chain hotels.

Needed 2 rooms for 5 people. The 3 person room was roomy but the 2 person room was tiny, but typical for European hotels. Bathroom was modern and even had some shelves - unusual for European hotels. Rooms were neat. Beds were comfortable. No safe in room. Pay extra for internet in room. Helpful front desk and across the plaza from a huge information […] center. Location is central and great place to set up camp. It's literally next door to the train station so all types of people walking around but that just made it interesting. I was never worried about safety. Police presence but they had nothing to do. Definitely get the breakfast option. Food is incredibly expensive in Norway. The breakfast buffet was all you can eat with great variety of eggs/meats, fruits breads, etc. Good place to start your day. We had a car and parked in a public lot 3 blocks away. Never noticed if they had a valet option but doubt it.. Overall- might try another hotel just to see if I could do better but we were satisfied and would return if no obviouls better options Läs mer

Good location , just 1 min. from the train station (Oslo S) , don't have to cross even a road. Very easy access to all kind of trams and buses. Good breakfast.

Efficient and friendly staff, comfortable though very small room, extremely comfortable bed, excellent breakfast. Only complaints were no tea coffee making facilty in the room, although this was provided at no extra charge when I asked for it; and tiles fallen off in the bathroom. "Scandic in Oslo in the Center of Things"
This is a great hotel for anyone planning to see Oslo. Everything is of high quality, especially the breakfast. Having stayed here a number of times, I can say that it is a bit on the pricey side, but you never worry about a bad experience.

Basic but comfortable and functional room including minibar, iron and ironing boad and hairdryer. Free wi-fi and free PCs in the lobby. The reception staff were all really friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet served in the Egon restaurant next door was huge - cereals, yogurts, fruit, cheeses, cold meats, boiled eggs, bacon, sausages, fried eggs, […] pancakes, pastries, breads, etc, etc. I was flying into Oslo late in the evening so it was convenient that this hotel is right next door to the main Oslo train station. "Scandic Byporten_Oslo city center"
The hotel was clean and convenient. I was traveling alone and felt secure and safe. It was located right by central station but you heard no normal city noise that you might expect and it was a fantastic location for jumping on public transport to any sight you might want to see. The staff were friendly and courteous.

Excellent location in the central station shopping complex, so great for arrivals from or going to the air port (using the airport train); easy walking to other points of interest in the downtown and close to city transport connections. Didnt find any signage in the station or the shopping mall to the hotel on my first visit, and impossible to guess […] its location so had to ask the mall information desk to find it. Good breakfast included in neighboring restaurant - eat well so you dont have to pay exborbidantly for lunch. Close to relatively cheaper eating spots (and it is relative in Norway!) This hotel was extremely convenient to public transportation and the central station. We arrived late, but they are open all night. The room was comfortable. The breakfast was exceptional and the food was excellent. This hotel, however, is located in a main courtyard in front of the central station and the central routes for busses and trams. It was […] also full of drug dealers and considerable drunken revelry till after 3 AM. "Location"
Great hotel and a great location. The only bad part is the entrance is buried in a small shopping center and very poorly marked and signed. We wondered around the block for 15 or 20 minutes until we finally saw the tiny entrance sign.

Nice hotal and the price was good for Oslo in summer. On top of the central train station so great place to stay if you are going in and out of Oslo by train. Also right near the city center. Room was good for Europe. What you would consider a 3 star in the US. Nice and clean but not fancy. We had a family room. It was a twin bed a nd 2 cots.
"Extremely Over-priced"
Located immediately outside trainstation - which in some ways is very nice - but whoa!!!!... I have NEVER seen a more depressed area of massive drug dealing going on in the train station square. My son and I would have dinner on second floor of hotel and watch the show - waitress told us it goes on EVERY DAY - and typically the police make 5 or 6 arrest […] per day - pretty depressing - as for the hotel.. staff was friendly...but the price was extremely over-priced for this cheap quality hotel. If you want central location... this is not a bad place.. .but it is the only positive feature I can rate... you would better off staying in same general location but different hotel. Läs mer
