Mycket nöjd. Snygg inredning och rent. Inga vägglöss :-) Väldigt bra och trevligt läge nära tunnelbanestationer och någon minuts promenad till central park. Mycket sköna sängar och kuddar. Personalen var mycket glad och hjälpsam och gav oss gärna tips och information om stan vid fråga. Vi förstod oss först inte på varmvattnet, men det visade sig att det måste saknas cirkulation i ledningarna så vi fick spola ett tag - sedan kom värmen.

Trevlig personal och en trivsam lobby. Läget intill SoHo perfekt. Bekväma rum och fin städning. Underbar NY-känsla direkt utanför hotellet. trevligt med anslutande bar i samma byggnad. Skulle gärna återvända till detta hotell.

"Dugligt för sitt pris"
Toppenläge mitt på Manhattan med nära till allt! Okej rum, städning varje dag med rena lakan och handdukar. Sängen vad dock nerliggen och borde bytts för 10 år sedan. Personalen trevlig när de väl tilltalades, annars höll de sig undan. Har man inte jätte höga krav på sitt boende, och vill komma undan billigt, är detta ett optimalt alternativ!

Vi hade ett 3-bäddsrum med riktiga sängar. Stort rum där man fick plats med resväskorna utan problem. Mycket bra hotell.

"Bra läge till billigt pris"
Vi bodde en vecka i oktober på Grand Union, och är mycket nöjda. Rent och fräscht för billigt pris, nära till shopping på 5th avenue, empire state building samt metrostation (grön linje, nr6) i samma kvarter. Vi hade ett rum som vette från gatan på översta våningen, och upplevde inga störande ljud nattetid. Trevlig personal som gärna hjälpte till.

Läget var väldigt bra. Nära till Emire state building och tunnelbana bland annat. Priset. Första intrycket när vi öppnade dörren till rummet var att det var lite mörkt och instängt. Det pga att utsikten mot tegelväggen inte släppte in så mycket ljus. Det var rent och fräscht så efter en stund så brydde man sig inte om att det kändes lite instängt!

Jag är mycket positivt överraskad, rummet var bekvämt och rent och personalen mycket trevliga. Rent hotell som ligger gångavstånd till alla sevärdheter i mitten av Manhattan, 2 minuter gångväg till tunnelbanan. Kan absolut rekommendera detta om man vill bo hyffsat billigt i New York, men ändå centralt.

Relativt lågt pris för ett hotell i NY. Men även om skicken skiftar så förväntar man sig ändå god service. Här fördrog personalen att titta på TV eller prata med varandra när man kom in genom entren. När vi anlände första natten verkade lakanen också vara obytta pga hårstrån i sängen vilket inte var speciellt trevligt. Rökning verkade vara tillåten […] så det kändes inte speciellt fräscht i korridorer etc. Av alla hotell i NY finns det förmodligen sämre men också bättre, kommer med största sannolikhet att INTE välja detta igen. Very good hotel. Close to Macys and all the shops around. Close to the metro. Restaurants around. The room was very good. When I´m traveling I want a nice hotel with air condition in the room, room should be clean and feel cosy. Often you are only in the room at night sleeping, dress up and takes a shower and the hotel was perfekt for that. Not luxury […] or anything but just a good regular hotel. When we looked at the pictures before the trip we were thinking of how the hotel would be since we paid so little money. Vi bodde på hotellet En vecka, Centralt läge nära Empire State, flera bra restauranger i närheten. Hotellets standard var okej, rummet var litet men rent och snyggt (heltäckningsmattor ger dock ett sunkigt intryck) . Personalen var vänliga och tillmötesgående.

Bra hotell med grymt läge. "gångavstånd" till allt.. Det enda som skulle vara minus är att det inte fanns möjlighet till internet på rummet. Och att just vårat rum inte hade något bra fönster ut.. Detta gjorde att det var svårt att avgöra hur vädret var etc.. Annars var allt kanon. Trevlig personal. :)
Hotellet vinner klart på sitt läge och personalens goda servicevilja. För den som är ute hela dagarna är detta ett bra alternativ som håller ett lägre pris än andra hotell som kanske är "mysigare". Vi bodde bort från gatan vilket var enormt bra med tanke på trafiken dygnet runt men det innebar också att vi fick ett rum med fönster mot lufttrumma.

Hotellet har en fräsch lobby med en delvis ganska butter personal, inte ovänlig direkt men några fler leenden hade man kunnat anstränga sig med då gäster kommer och går. Inchecknigen gick snabbt, vi anlände tidigt på morgonen efter flyg från San Francisco, men stuvade in bagaget i deras storageroom tills rummet var klart (dvs ca 6 tim senare). Vi fick […] även välja vilken rumstyp vi önskade då vi var tre personer, och tog ett på vån 6 med två rum med dörr emellan och gemensamt badrum. Passade perfekt! Utsikten var en tegelvägg från bägge rummen...men jag har bott här förut och då mot gatan och detta var ändå att föredra. Rumsstandarden är helt okej, rent i de ganska trånga rummen/badrummet men ändå lite slitet och bedagat. Dåligt tryck i duschen, fönen lade av etc. Hotellets läge är toppen mitt i Midtown och Empire State Bldg två gator upp, och detta uppväger hotellets mindre minusposter. Läs mer
"Ett ok hotell med jättebra läge"
Rummen var lite dystra ,brun heltäckningsmatta och beige vävtapet. Badrummet litet men rent och funktionsdugligt. Har man fönster mot gatan bör man inte vara ljudkänslig, men tror att detta gäller samtliga hotell i New York. Hotell personalen väldigt trevlig. För det låga priset får hotellet godkänt. Läget väger över hotellets nackdelar.

Very friendly and helpful staff, clean room, affordable, excellent location for Time Square and other sights – no taxi or rental car required. Hotel Grand Union was exactly what we needed. No complaints at all - we will stay there again.

This hotel is very comfortable, its staff is very polite and friendly and it is within easy access to the main business areas. Its main drawback is that the room eis not equipped with a kettle.

Hotel overall was good but last day porter advised us hotel taxi to the airport with guaranteed price of USD 61 incl.tax for 4 people. Then at the airport taxi driver have asked us for USD 80 and when we paid cash and the rest of USD 10 by credit card, he transcribed imprint of the amout of USD 10 to USD 40!!! If you're looking for an inexpensive place to stay, this hotel is a decent choice with a few caveats. It's reasonably quiet and the rooms have the essentials, assuming you don't need wifi in the room or need an iron or coffee maker either. (I use tethering, so the lack of wifi didn't matter to me.) The rooms and furniture are old, and everything is […] need of updating. That said, if you just need somewhere to sleep and that doesn't bother you, the location right on the 6 line and walking distance to Penn Station is worth it. The Front Desk staff was rude and husseled me out of USD 20 for checking out late even thought the hotel was empty on a monday night and i had already requested for a late checkout. The internet service is not free and the rooms are very small.

"Disappointed"
I went with this hotel because I thought it would be a nice place to stay during the long weekend away from home with my fiancee. While the room was clean and the bed comfortable I was a bit disappointed overall. The room service booklet that they provide was out of date and when I called to try to get room service the phone didn't work. After calling […] the front desk three times I was able to find out that they charge you extra to "open" the phone lines, something I've never heard of, and for the amount that I paid I don't think I should be charged an extra eighty cents to call for room service. After asking them to open the phone lines for me the man at the front desk did all he could to keep me from ordering room service and instead wanted me to go to the cafe that is connected to the hotel since it was "cheaper." I for one, do not wish to be forced into eating somewhere that doesn't have the food I want. I am a vegetarian and all the cafe offers is burgers and the like. Eventually my fiancee and I just ended up walked around the city to find something to eat. The shower was the other main thing that annoyed me. The hot water wouldn't kick in until the hot water knob was turned to it's limits and then the water fluctuated a ridiculous amount. One second it was freezing, even though the cold water wasn't on, and then it was scorching hot. Also, the mini fridge didn't keep things very cold. My fiancee and I had to throw away two small cartons of milk that we were going to use for our cereal that we purchased off site, but, unfortunately, couldn't use. And another side note. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for anyone in a wheelchair or anything that requires a large amount of space. The halls are all but two feet wide, sans exaggeration and the rooms are cornered together very tightly. Läs mer

The location is excellent, only 2 blocks from the Empire State Building and a 10 minute walk to Times Square. The hotel itself is comfortable, small rooms and clean. The staff are friendly and there's a nice cafe attached (Captain Cafe). I'd definitely recommend Grand Union for your stay in New York.

The hotel room smelled like urine and overall just seemed filthy. They have a clause of no guests after 11pm, however thankfully due to the condition of the hotel I would have no interest of bringing someone back to the room. We stayed for 4 nights. Location is central (near Empire State Building). Room was clean, and the counter help was prompt and friendly (our room was missing the TV remote, but they provided one right away). Only complaints: The bed (a double), was pretty uncomfortable (lumpy and felt like we were teetering atop a pedestel....hard to describe), and the […] heater in the room made a LOT of odd noises when it would fire up. "Poor service and paper thin walls"
If you are looking for a place to simply crash and get a good night sleep, this is probably not your best bet. Staff was not very service oriented and hotel is just old looking and feeling. A simple change in bed spreads and some more contemporary color or wall paper would suffice.
