Mycket trevlig hjälpsam personal, bra frukostmatsal och restaurang. Perfekt läge i Midtown med gångavstånd till sevärdheter, shopping, Broadway etc..Däremot levde inte vårt Luxury-rum upp till förväntningarna, ett rymligt men ganska trist rum, sliten söndrig fotpall, ingen " uppbäddning" på kvällen som är vanligt på 4 och 5 stjärniga hotell. Jag har bott på Sofitel förut, i Washington D.C. och Xian, Kina. Det har varit makalöst lyxigt - med badrum som är oceaner av marmor och top notch service som skämmer bort en på alla sätt, och med hög charmfaktor. Men trots att priset ligger i topp kändes Sofitel New York tyvärr standardmässigt. Hotellet ligger perfekt till för att utforska stora delar av New York, att gå, ta taxi, buss eller T-bana. Närheten till Times Square och det jag upplevde som hjärtat av Manhattan, nära shopping på Fifth Avenue och Madison. En uppfriskande promenad till Manhattans lunga, Central Park. kort sagt perkt läge.

Nyss hemkommen från bröllopsresan efter fem nätter på Sofitel NY. Vi hade ett Luxury-rum på våning 21 och rummet var rymligt och genomgående hög standard på allt. Det enda som var lite störande var ljud ifrån hisschaktet som låg intill vårt rum och maten på hotellets restaurang "Gabys" var inte prisvärd eller speciellt god - det finns mycket annat som […] är mycket bättre. Trevligt Franskt Hotell i bästa läge på Manhattan. Time Square endastt två kvarter bort och 5th avenue direkt runt hörnet. Hotellentren var gemytlig och personalen var trevlig. Vi fick ett rum på översta våningen (29) vilket i och för sig lät bättre än det var. Utsikten var rätt begränsad och vi stördes lite av ett brummande motorljud från någon typ […] av fläktsystem. Har absolut inget att klaga på, detta hotell var top notch på alla sätt och vis. Allt från receptionisterna till conserniern och städerskorna, allt var tip top. Rummet hade allt man kan önska sig, en fantastiskt skön säng, vacker utsikt, bra storlek, badkar, dusch, toalettartiklar, tops, sykitt, bomullspads etc etc. Jättefräscht gym med alla redskap […] och maskiner. Städ på morgonen och på eftermiddagen kom dem in och tittade till och lämnade vatten samt bäddade om det behövdes. Otroligt bra service och trevlig personal. Det enda jag kan klaga på är att jag glömde lite kläder på hotellrummet som jag bad dem skicka till Sverige och då tog det 2 dagar för dem att svara samt att dem ville ha mina kreditkortsuppgifter för att dra kostnaden. När man betalar så pass mycket för ett hotell så tycker jag absolut att dem skall stå för sånt. Överlag var vi supernöjda! Läs mer

I recently stayed at Sofitel in New York City. The hotel is a very comfortable choice as the location is near perfect. The rooms are nice especially considering NY hotel standards. The breakfast is not cheap but actually it felt worth it spending 85 dollars including tip for two as the portions are large, service is great and fresh juice, coffee, tea […] and bread is free with endless refills. Hotel service was always perfect. Highly recommended! Next time I return to New York this hotel will be my first choice. Läs mer

The hotel and the service provided is really fantastic. The interior of the rooms is somewhat old but not disturbing. Staff earns a real salute, very service minded, supportive, and professional. WiFi was not included in our hotel price, as is common in many hotels. I just wonder when this will be free of charge in all hotels. Bra service och riktigt bra rum (normalrum med två sängar). Läget är nära Times Square men ändå var vårt rum tyst som i Stockholm, dvs inga ljud efter 23...rekommenderas fr.a. vid lågpristillfällen

Vi har bott på flera hotell i NY i ungefär samma prisklass, detta var ett av de bästa. Underbart hotell med perfekt läge, kanonservice, underbart rum med de absolut bästa kuddarna och täcken jag någonsin haft på ett hotell. Synd att vi bara stannade en natt denna gång.

We spent 4 days of our honeymoon at this hotel - and they really lived up to our high standards! Room was modern, large and quiet and they did their best in every aspect in making us feel like royalty from the minute we checked in. The hotel has really given some thought to what is important to it's guests - like free internet, evian water every night, […] free coffee for those who just would like a quick breakfast etc. We have both stayed in many hotels, and this kind of service is very rare - we will most definitely return! Wonderful attentive staff. Excelent location. Amazing room view.

The hotel was in an excellent location - so close to Times Square, some great food, theatres, Grand Central Station and 5th Avenue! The hotel was spotlessly clean - all public areas and our room itself. We were exhausted when we arrived and were met by a very welcoming Receptionist who gave us a 'lovely quiet room' on the 16th floor (we chose a superior […] room - floors 15 - 29 - so that we had some views) The room was brilliantly quiet - at the back of the hotel. We were even able to open a window and still weren't disturbed! The bed was like a cloud - so comfortable with a mattress topper, fluffy duvet and great pillows. Bathroom was very spacious with L'Occitane products. Fabulous shower (bath was fairly short and shallow, but perfectly funtional). Bathrobes and slippers provided along with complimentary water in the evenings. Iron and ironing board in the wardrobe and powerful hairdryer in the bathroom. In-room safe available at no extra cost. Travel adapter provided in the desk drawer. Lovely platter of fruit left for us in our room when we got back on the first day. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but had a couple of drinks in the bar (pretty pricey). Great diner just out of the hotel to the right and a few doors down called The Red Flame - great for breakfast as we stayed room only. Lovely hotel in great location. My king size room was large and well appointed with a fabulous bathroom. We stayed on the 9th floor and the room was very quiet with a very comfortable bed. Only slight complaint was room service was very expensive at $26 for two coffees!

I booked two rooms at the Sofitel. On check-in we had a problem when they could not find our 2nd booking. It looked to be a problem, until Albert appeared and fixed it. He even upgraded our rooms and then helped with a late check-out for one room. I have stayed at the W on 47th, W at Union Square, Briant Park and The Palace which are all great hotels […] but this is the best. The Sofitel on 44th St will be my Hotel of choice for future visits. Location is perfect, rooms are great, lobby is good and bar and restaurant great ;-)) Läs mer

The hotel was located close to the theater district and just a few blocks from Times Square. The staff was very professional and helpful and there are numerous restaurant options close by. We would gladly stay here again in the future.

We have stayed in a lot of high end hotels world wide, and I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised at how good the food we had for breakfast (room service) was. It was quite good. The coffee needs some work, but the food was good.

We were there last weekend for my husband's 50th b-day. Everything was perfect and then some. They upgraded up to a one bedroom suite which was phenomenal (and they didn't know it was his b-day at this point). I did happen to mention to an employee that my husband's b-day was the next day and they were kind enough to send a slice of yummy cake and chocolate […] covered strawberries to our room with happy birthday written in chocolate on the plate. The bathroom and toiletries were exceptional as well. Only regret is that we didn't try the restaurant. Too busy running around. I should note that the chef did win Chopped so if you are a fan of the show you should check it out. Also the concierge recommended a very good Family Style Italian rest. for us that was kid friendly; food was delish! Tony DiNapoli's - was close to hotel. Highly recommend it. We also really enjoyed The Red Flame Diner close to the hotel. For best NY cheesecake you must try Juniors near Toys r Us in Times Square too!!! Läs mer

We were thrilled from the first minute we walked into the Sofitel lobby. It was a stunning Art Deco style with beautiful fresh flowers all around. They staff were always friendly and helpful. The room was really nicely decorated and had everything we needed. If we asked for anything we got it immediately. There wasn't a real view but that was ok because […] it was quiet being in the middle of the block. The hotel was close to everything. There's a Starbucks 2 doors down. We were 2 blocks from Time Square and about an equal distance from The Chrysler building, Grand Central Station,Rockafeller Center and St Patrick's. Close enough to get there easily. I can't think of one thing I would change. This hotel was perfect and I highly recommend it. Quiet, classy, clean and friendly. PERFECT. Läs mer

The concierge could have been a bit friendlier and more helpful in helping us book reservations but the friendly and helpful doorman/front desk staff definitely made up for it. The location is great - close enough to Times Square and 5th Avenue; yet far enough to get away from the crowds. We ordered room service a couple of times for late night snacks […] and the food was great! The gym could be a bit more spacious but I'm happy the hotel had a gym! Overall, it was a great experience. The hotel is ideally positioned off 5th avenue on 44th street which is 2 blocks down from the Times square subway. Though not inexpensive the hotel maintains high standards in terms of customer service, quality of food and standard of bedding which was amongst the most comfortable I have experienced in a hotel. Room service was prompt and the food was […] good quality and hot ! The front desk were very helpful taking time to explain the geography of NY and also provided a useful map. The doorman was particularly helpful and arranged a return car back to Newark airport. He also explained that it was cheaper to request a car from NY rather than New Jersey as the taxi drivers from NJ could not pick up a return ride from NY and therefore had to cover the return toll fares. Worth knowing for a future visit as it saved circa $30. Overall we had a very enjoyable week. For anyone visiting NY I would recommend to purchase a New York pass as it not only makes it easier to access sightseeing attractions but saves money. The passes can be collected from Planet Hollywood which is 5 mins walk from the hotel. Dependent upon the length you have I would also recommend a subway 4 or 7 day pass. Whilst the best way to see NY is on foot, unless you have the stamina of an Olympic athlete there are times when to get around quickly it is the best option. Taxis are great but can be very expensive particularly when the traffic is dense. We would certainly use the Sofitel again. Oh and the Frick museum is worth a visit if you like Art and want to see how the very wealthy lived in the early 1900's in Upper Manhattan . It is one of the few museums not covered by the NY pass. I was in NYC for a pleasure trip with my 16 yr. old daughter, celebrating her birthday. I've stayed in 2 other hotels on other trips to NYC, and the Sofitel is by far my favorite. We took a red eye flight to NYC, and arrived at the hotel at 7 a.m. I was expecting to have to wait until check-in time to get into our room, but we were pleasantly surprised […] when we were able to occupy our room right then. All staff are warm and gracious, greeting you each time you leave or arrive. The concierge was extremely helpful and pleasant. The hotel restaurant, Gaby, is pricey, but the service was impeccable. A waiter took our picture for us when I told him we were celebrating my daughter's 16th birthday. Later that night, when we returned to our room after a show, we found a beautiful plate of French desserts with "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate on the plate - it had to be that nice waiter. The lobby is filled with beautiful fresh flowers, and the ambience is very European. We heard many languages being spoken by guests and staff alike. It was a wonderful experience for my daughter. On top of everything, the location is perfect - between 5th and 6th avenues. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Läs mer

This review is based on expectations from the ratings we read before our trip. Nice hotel, but nothing special. Stayed at the Millenium last year for a similar rate and would reccommend that before here based on it being closer to time square and just as nice in our opinion. Upon check-in we were told we had a nice room on a higher level floor that […] wasn't quite ready for us, and then when we returned later in the day to get our room keys they had us on the 4th floor. Needless to say we didn't have a view, but may not have had one on the original floor we had been told either(would have had a better chance of it at least). You can reach the 24 living times square in 2 minutes by walk , very clean , very helpfull , very comfortable + very very ... I stayed 7 nights with my wife , it was excellent , when i come to new york again , i will definetely stay here..

having stayed before and at other Sofitels in DC and Philly...continue to plan to return whenever possible..not quite Pais...but a sweet reminder of my favorite city...

They couldn't have been nicer from giving me a room on a high floor to helping me in any way, They found an earring that I left behind and are sending it to me. Whatever request I made was taken care of immediately

We had a great stay at the Sofitel. From check in to check out everything was top notch. Location is great and hotel is classy and friendly. Will definitely stay here next time Intravel to NY

This was our hotel of choice as we were not disappointed the first we stayed there 2 years ago. The service was exceptional and we'll definitely stay there again! The children have requested another New Years Eve experience at Time Square so the family will be making another booking soon.

The hotel was in a really great location in midtown - close to Rockefeller Center and transportation. The hotel was very clean and modern and the staff was friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

Was told i was getting jacuzzi...did not...in fact, the water was green in the tub i did get...complained...they laughed and told me that is new york. hotel was nice but dont go for tub room.

Service lacks sincerity. Stayed for a couple of nights for a family celebration. Leaky bathroom pipes resulted in drenched carpet/floor. If you are considering picking this hotel for its location, be forewarned that it's located on a street where cabs don't go through that often (we learned it the hard way).
