Its hard to tell from the map, but this is an easy walk to downtown, and the capitol next door is beautiful.

Room was very clean & comfortable. We stayed here to be close to the Excel Energy Center(1/2 mile away). Took the shuttle there and back, very slick. Dropped and picked up promptly. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Will stay there again. I wish I would have figured adjust heat/AC though.

The front desk staff was very friendly, the check in was fast, the room was clean and comfortable, and they offered free shuttle service to the Xcel for the Madonna concert!

Beds are very comfortable. Thought the bathrooms were okay but could have been a bit cleaner.

The bathroom floor could have been a little cleaner, but the sink, bathtub and toilet were fine. The bed was awesome! Nice and clean and fluffy duvet. I thought that breakfast was free in the lobby, but they have a restaurant attached, so that was a little misleading.

It wasn't bad. The toilet in our room did not flush worth a darn. There was a wedding or party of somesort and we could here loud annoying music from it in our room all night long so had a hard time sleeping. Other than that, we weren't there long enough to get much more experience out of it

Cool location in the heart of the capital of MN. Shuttle service to the shuttle that the festival ran was great! It's too bad the bar closes so early on Sunday night, we were up for hanging out after the shows and had to look else where for food and drink.

I can recommend this hotel for everybody that would like to spend some days in St.Paul. The hotel is near by Downtown, the bar is ok, for children you have swimmingpool. Room was clean and was xcleans every day morning.

Warm in the room, air conditioning was not working properly. Reported to both housekeeping and front desk, no real improvement during 2 night stay.

This is a nice hotel with pleasant staff. It is centrally located and has a free shuttle service. We stay here every time we come to St. Paul.

The only complaints that I have about this hotel is that it was very warm even when the thermostat was turned completely off and it did not have walking access to the Excel center since it was surrounded by major highways.

Two queen size room was a little small. No fridge or microwave. However room was clean and we had excellent service. Usually I prefer a continental breakfast but it was nice to have an on-site restaurant / bar.

In addition to the usual "Do Not Disturb" sign for the door, the hotel actually provides a survey asking what you would like in the way of service. We prefer the privacy of having no service during our stay, so we answered the survey to that effect. This resulted in our room being made up after our second night. The hotel had a shuttle to the xcel center which ran every 15 minutes but the restaurant attached had very poor service, and our hotel room was dirty with other guests "things" left in the drawer and under the bed. not impressed!!

The best thing about this hotel is that it is so close to the finish of the Twin Cities Medtronic Marathon. It was a very clean hotel, and housekeeping always made of the room very nicely.

I was a little worried when I booked this hotel because I'd read other reviews that weren't so great, but my husband and I had a wonderful stay. The room was clean and spacious, quiet, too. The bed was comfortable, and we were easily able to keep the temperature in the room comfortable. The hotel was clean, even the restaurant downstairs was nice. It […] had a veggie burger option that we took advantage of--twice! And the best thing was that it was right across the street from the Twin Cities Marathon which my husband and I both ran this past weekend. The front desk was nice and helpful, and they had a computer with a printer set up so we could print out our boarding passes for the flight home. I was really happy with the location of the hotel. It was in close proxcimity to the summit, St. Paul hotel, St. Josephs hospital, and the science museum. I had a late flight and needed to get ready in 2hrs for a wedding. they made sure I had directions and processed me in quickly.

If downtown St. Paul hotels are not available, this one will be fine, but wasn't my first choice. It's older and you definitely wouldn't want to walk to downtown from here. The room was clean, though, and the staff was helpful, so no complaints.

I went to a Foo Fighters concert and chose this hotel for 2 reasons- 1)Most other hotels were booked 2) It was the cheaper of the 2 hotels that still had vacancies. I was not expecting a lot, but when I checked in to the hotel, but the guest service rep a the front desk asked if I was attending the concert that night, and when I said yes she informed […] me there would be FREE shuttles to and from the Xcel center every 15 minutes! This was a bonus as their website listed somewhere around a $10-15 fee for this service. I was so impressed and happy with this. The only downside was that the restaurant in the hotel left much to be desired. We ended up going to Mickey's diner (way worth it!) instead of having breakfast at the hotel once we saw the menu. I stayed at the Kelly Inn for 4 days, while visiting relatives and also attending to some business. It was a far nicer experience than I expected. I travel a LOT for work and am accustomed to all kinds of accommodations. The room was extremely CLEAN. Thanks go out to another reviewer on this site, who urged asking for an EVEN-numbered room. I had a spectacular view of the beautiful St. Paul Cathedral. Walking distance to the Cathedral, the Capitol Buillding and the Minnesota Historical Society. VERY EASY access on to main artery freeways. A restaurant in the lobby-food wasn't GREAT, but it wasn't horrible. The staff was very nice, friendly and helpful. My 1st time staying at the Kelly....I'll have to return to St. Paul for future travels, and would not hesitate to book here again. The hotel staff was AWESOME. They were courteous and kind, and very inviting. One woman, I believe named Sharon, invited a few of us down to the hotel lobby after the evening wedding we were in to play board games, drink, and chat. It was great, and she made us feel very welcome. After that it was just me killing time in St. Paul. It's within a stone's […] throw of the capitol building, but really... not much to do here. Or in downtown st. paul, less than a 20 minute walk away, for that matter. There's a Sears in the adjacent parking lot, but that's about it. Overall the hotel was great, but the area is just dead. Everything about our stay was quite good - clean, comfortable room and a very friendly and helpful staff. I did need to report a maintenance issues (TV was bad - all fuzzy - and remote did not work). Of course, you can't just fix that right away, but I trust that the unit would be replaced. Otherwise, I was very pleased with my stay. The night we arrived, there was loud music coming from the bar/restaurant of the hotel. I called down around 12am to ask if it was a party and why was it so loud( we stayed on the 3rd floor). The music didn't stop til 1:30am! Besides this dilemma, we had no other probs.
