Hotell Express By Holiday Inn South - Gloucester

Noisey & agressive guests not challenged by staff in the hotel or police called. This disurbed & frightened other guests in the early hours of the morning.

First class - coulld not fault it, even the continental breakfast was excellent. Will certainly stay there again if it remains as good a value as it was for our stay.

no soap in dispensers , kettle didnt work these thinhs should have been checked when the room was cleaned

A comfortable hotel stay marred only by staff who were surly and did not seem to want to communicate with guests. Nobody on reception desk on our arrival, no bell to ring. When staff arrived more interested in joking with each other than talking to us. On checkout young man at the desk just turned away from us without speaking and disappeared through […] a door. We really enjoyed our stay, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only thing that would have given this hotel a 5 for comfort was the bed, it was really soft so next time we will see if there is a bigger bed available.

Arrived no 2nd bed made up for children took a couple of attempts to get sheets and duvet then made up myself they did offer to make it up if we went out which when you arrive late after having dinner hardly want to do that. Great hotel for a one night vist. The staff were all very nice. The hotel was full so breakfast was a very busy time - food OK but only one 4 slice toaster that worked was not really enough!

Excellent hotel, very clean and modern, only quibble was breakfast as hotel was full and dining room was full and breakfast items kept running out!

Good economy priced hotel. Very clean and comfortable and good pub next door to eat at. Only downfall was that there were a group of us staying for a wedding and they ran out of some of the drinks that we asked for (lemonade and brandy) in the bar upon our retun.

The Holiday Inn Express is a good basic standard hotel. It's clean and practical as you would expect from the chain. The only disappointment was the breakfast. It was not kept well stocked at all; there was no hot food for 15 minutes whilst they cooked more and not many slices of bread left for toast. The only things on offer were yoghurts and cereal. […] I'm sure if you timed it better or the hotel wasn't as full then it would be fine. The Bumble Bee pub next door is good for evening meal. This hotel was very close to Gloucester South Park & Ride which made access to Gloucester Docks & the City Centre a doddle. The hotel itself was clean, nicely decorated and to a good standard. A lovely pub right next door was ideal for an evening meal & drink. The main thing which let the hotel down was the breakfast (which a number of reviews had mentioned). […] We had to clear a table for ourselves and found that breakfast was disorganised at best. They label themselves as a energy saving hotel so don't expect to arrive to a warm room when it's -5 outside. We turned heating on when we arrived but as you need to put your card to get electricity it was still freezing cold when we got back after dinner. Staff was rude when we complained about it. If they want to improve energy saving better work […] on isolation than expect clients to freeze !!! Good value for money. Efficient staff. Central to Gloucester. Ample carpark with a very nice restaurant adjacent called the Bumble Bee.

Good quality hotel, friendly staff, very nice pub and restaurant adjacent. The hotel and bar seemed to have difficulty with small change, having to go across to the pub to get change. Other guests told us that this happens regularly but managers have yet to resolve it.

This hotel is in a great location, the staff were more than helpful and friendly at all times and the Bumble Bee Pub next door was really lovely. Our only complaint was that the breakfasts weren't very good ..it was eggs and sausages which were cheap and tasteless and the continental wasn't much better with stale croissants. It was a good base for a couple of days touring. The breakfast verges on the shambolic when the place is busy. Otherwise good value for what it is.

The room we had was conveniently on the ground floor and was clean and pleasant. Breakfast was a tasty continental self-service buffet. We enjoyed our stay.

The hotel was a last minute pick to enable us to visit the local area and convenient. the room was OK (brown stain under toilet seat though) but shower in wet-room style bathroom did not run away fast enough so most of the floor ended up wet. Would definitely not recommend breakfast - it was a shambles! Busy on Saturday, at least the rolls were warm […] but there's only one machine to get hot water to make tea, so long queues. Orange juice tastes more like water and milk jugs not labelled for semi-skimmed or whatever contents. We got a table which had been cleared but not cleaned. Someone brought a dog in too but staff did deal with that swiftly. Sunday it was chaos and staff could not keep up. There were no free tables; no plates, bowls or cutlery; cold rolls and barely defrosted croissants. Go early or beware! Läs mer

Very peaceful hotel, quiet at night and relaxing, very c lean, friendly, helpful staff, the breakfast was very good and no one rushed you or made you feel uncomfortable, I would definately stay again if in the area.
