Bekvämt hotel i gammaldags stil. Stort rum med air condition och kyl. Hotellet ligger lite utanför centrum, det gar att ga men det tar en stund. Annars gar det bussar nan minut fran hotellet in till stan.

Fantastic hotel. We lived in Fairmont Gold and room, breakfast and afternoon food was fantastic. Friendly staff as well. However, they have much to do in the pool area. it is sad enlightened. very dull environment. Room was just ok. The service lacked - had to wait in line but the young receptionist was very nice. did not seem like the front desk was very organized - five people out there with only one helping people. "Really great place to stay"
Very well run. I don't think I've ever been in a hotel where I have felt more comfortable. That being said, I think it's a fun place for grown-ups, but I suspect children might find the place boring.Verifierad gästrecension

The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was quite a walk away from the front doors, but we enjoyed the extra exercise. The hotel is definitely rich with history, but not as comfortable as some we've stayed in. "Nice trip, great staff."
Went to a wedding which was held in Palm Court. (If I was planning a wedding, I would choose a room which didn't allow so much ambient noise from guests eating in open dining area next to it.) But otherwise, the staff was extremely good at making you feel pampered. That includes the in-room dining staff, very courteous and make you feel like a million […] bucks. The rooms are smaller (if you don't upgrade). The wedding suite (Bob Hope room on 3rd floor) was very spacious and roomy, but you pay for it. Overall, didn't like the food options in the restaurants, so we ate in the surrounding area. MUCH cheaper and fantastic places all within walking distance (my walking distance encompasses up to 10 or so blocks away). I read quite a few negative reviews about the Empress before staying, and I have to say that I disagree with every single one of them. The building is in excellent condition in all of the areas that I saw, maintaining the original charm of the building without compromising the level of comfort & convenience that we expect nowadays.We were in Victoria […] for three nights in total, with the first two nights at the Grand Pacific Hotel. The Grand Pacific could not accommodate us for the last night, so we booked the Empress instead. How we wish we had booked the Empress for all three nights, far more comfortable. "Great OLD Hotel that needs a Makeover"
Great location and atmosphere, BUT rooms are small and in need of updating. As usual, the checkin staff tries their best to talk you into upgrading your room at significant cost, even though it becomes obvious during your stay that they are lightly booked. "Fairmont Empress Victoria"

"Time for an upgrade"
While the exterior and tea room is lovely, the hotel room that we stayed in desperately needed upgrading. The bathroom grout was stained black in spots, the bath tub was stained, the lamp shade next to the bed had holes in it, and the furniture needed a good cleaning. "At least once in your life"
Everyone must visit Victoria and spend the night at The Empress at least once in their lives. Victoria is a walkable city and The Empress is incredible and central to all the sites in Victoria. It was a short walk from the Victoria Clipper ferry we took from Seattle. Of course, you must have Tea at the Empress. In the winter you don't really need reservations […] but you will during the rest of the year. Only thing I don't like about The Empress and other high end hotels is having to pay for wireless internet. Victoria is not a very wireless friendly city. "The most comfortable hotel beds."
This is a grand old hotel, but some of the rooms, like the one in which I stayed, are rather common. The checkin process took a while as the front desk did not have adequate staff on duty and some of the staff were busy with telephone calls while guests waited. I was disappointed when a supervisor came out to the front desk from a back office but failed […] to help any of the guests waiting in line before disappearing behind the scenes again. "Disappointed at the Empress"
Had asked for a room with a view, got a view of the garbarator, had also requested a king bed and was initially given a queen bed. They did move us but it was an inconvenience to us. The room washroom was too small, toilet seat hits the bathtub when utilizing. Hotel is in a great location and convenient to walk to many attractions.The rooms available for travel packages are in the older wing of the hotel and just remember you get what you pay for. The Empress is a wonderful old "Grand Hotel" located beautifully on Victoria Harbor. Well-appointed and maintained, it showcases the grace of a bygone era yet has been tastefully updated. You can walk everywhere and visit the harbor, nearby parks, and a lively downtown that features an amazing array of shops and restaurants as well as museums and galleries.. This is a fabulous hotel of the old style. It has an overall feeling of luxurious relaxing comfort. The rooms feel like living rooms. Some drawbacks are that the bathrooms are small, and there are no complementary papers, no complementary continental breakfast, coffee in lobby, or free wifi (it is available for a fee). The Empress was all that we imagined and more. Service was superb in Gold Class and we thought it good value with a separate lounge providing tea and coffee and soft drinks, and breakfast and appetisers between 5 and 7 pm.
