Hotellreceptionisten var fantastisk och hjälpte oss på ett underbart sätt. Lite sämre var rummens skick men ett bra hotell vilket jag varmt kan rekommendera.

Inget alternativ för gäster som har behov av internetuppkoppling. Inte heller för barnfamiljer. Det finns egentligen inte mycket positivt att säga om det här hotellet. Här går man ut med ett lägre pris på rummen men tar igen det på extra avgifter på det mesta. Man blir förvånad över att hissen är gratis, å andra sidan så fungerade den mycket sporadiskt. […] Vi fick hjälp att koppla upp oss till internet, uppkoppling görs via en icke verifierad server, men uppkopplingen försvann direkt när min iPhone försökte uppdatera. Man betalar en rejäl summa för varje uppkoppling, i vårt fall två laptops och två iPhone, vilket motsvarar en rejäl middag för två personer varje dag. Parkeringen var kort sagt mycket kostsam och egentligen inget alternativ. Rummen var små och utrustningen i badrummet var från början av förra sekelskiftet. Kranar och rör tjöt på nätterna helt oprovocerat, man fick helt enkelt stiga upp och öppna och stänga kranar för att försöka få slut på oljudet och kunna somna om. Hotellet har ingen vanlig pool men däremot en gigantisk jacuzzi mitt i hotellentrén, som bortsett från att inte alla gillar att bada i hetvatten, spred en klordoft i hela hotellet. Var då ingenting positivt ?? Jo, sängarna var utmärkta, dom flesta i personalen var vänliga och hjälpsamma, särskilt när vi checkade ut. Vi förstår inte varför man ska välja detta hotell. För affärsresenären är parkering och internet under all kritik, för familjer är avsaknaden av pool ett allvarligt irritationsmoment. Det är inte alla dagar man kan bada i havet. Sammantaqet blir heller inte prisnivån särskilt gynnsam när allt slås ihop. Vi parkerade på en allmän parkering och fick inbrott i bilen med förlust av bland annat en videokamera som vi gömt i ett fack i bilen. Vårt fel, ja, men det hade aldrig hänt om vi kunnat parkera till en vettig kostnad på hotellet. This was our second stay at the Claridge over the past few years and we found it once again to be a good experience. A disclaimer: if you're looking for a trendy spot in South Beach that's walkable to bars & etc., the Claridge definitely isn't the place for you. What it does offer, however, is quaint historical charm, a short walk across the street […] to the beach, and--a HUGE plus--ample, inexpensive parking (which is very hard to come by further south along the beach), provided you don't mind using the Muni Meters in the lot across the street. We loved being able to get to the heart of South Beach by car or bus in only about ten minutes without having to pay SB hotel prices. Negatives: the hotel is old, so the fixtures are too; the mattresses were loud and creaky; the layout creates an echo effect from the hot-tub/lobby areas, so if anyone happens to be making noise out there, you'll hear it in your room; the desk staff pushed the on-site restaurant a bit too much. Staff was very friendly. Hotel was very clean and tidy. Just be prepared to pay extra for internet, towels and some other crap!

The Claridge advertises that it's in South Beach. It's not. It's a good 15-20 unwalkable blocks from where the action is and the neighborhood in which it's located has nothing to offer. On the other hand, the hotel is comfortable and gracious. With a Spanish motif and old fashioned furnishings, it represents a gracious oasis in a sea of glitz. Great service, nice room, good location (slightly north of south beach action)... some maintenance issues (cold water faucet did not work, one window did not fully close), as to be expected in an older hotel. I would stay again

Superb location : close to the beach, avoiding the fury and movement of South Miami Beach, but still not far from the shopping area of Lincoln avenue. Veru good Italian restaurant. Beautiful and stylish building. In short, very good quality for the price : a great place for a family to stay a few days.

The front desk staff was friendly. I am a seasoned traveler and according to the price and website photos, I expected upscale accomodations and was very disappointed to find them below average. I was aware of the resort fee (this is not a resort) which covered a newspaper (if I wanted a newspaper I'd buy one)and free local calls (I can use my cell for […] free) but feel that for $10 it should include beach towels. There was mold in the shower. No soda or ice machine and a can of Soda at the bar was $3. We did receive a free drink at the bar after 6pm which we enjoyed on the patio. It was a short walk to the beach which had a nice boardwalk. Use the $1 parking across the street. Hotel parking is $22/day. Läs mer

We were very pleased with our experience. The wait staff in the restaurant were exceptional and made dining there a pleasant experience. One area of concern was the shower facilities...a bit short for my husband who is 6'3".

I want to say thank you to the staff at the claridge hotel they were fantastic! they made my stay a great experience,and i was very impressed with there attention to the small details.Very personal attention to my needs is what stood out and i would recommend it very highly.

the walls are paper thin....could hear the people next door talking, moving furniture, etc. Location is convenient to beaches. Bathroom fixtures need repair. Bed creaks loud any time you move and you can hear your neighbor when he/she rolls over.

Yes we stayed here and will definitely never return, the rooms and amenities are old, the staff is not helpful and the location not that great.

We stayed just one night; a charming hotel with clean rooms. Reason why we could not rate higher is because of the Italian restaurant in the lobby; a real joke. Should be forbidden.

While the Claridge is a pleasant smaller "boutique" style hotel, I felt that that the quality of service by management and the front desk staff leaves much to be desired. Based on that lack of service and willingness to please, I would definitely not recommend this hotel.

Good location - across the street from the ocean. Rates are not bad for *** hotel This year they start charging resort fee and adding tax on top of it. Hotels.com clames that they have it somewhere in the small print... There is a parking available across the street which is cheeper than hotel's parking

We wanted to be near the beach but we did not visit South Beach to be near the party. The hotel is a nice Medeterian Hotel and is fairly clean. The front staff are very friendly and knowledgable. We were suppose to have upgraded rooms but when we checked in the gentleman said that there would be none available until the fourth night of our four night […] stay. When we asked the very next morning low and behold there was a choice of upgraded rooms to choose from. Makes you wonder? I must say that the upgraded room was absolutely wonderful and the staff cleaning is top notch. This was good because when we left the front desk to go back to our new room we (my husband, myself and two elderly relatives) were stuck in the very small (5 x 5) elevator for nearly a half of an hour. We did not take the elevator for the remainder of our stay and did see the out of service notices two more times. There is a very limited menu in the hotel resturant but the service is good. The only place to get anything to eat when the resturant is closed is a little store across the street or about 3 blocks down. The menu at these two places are subs, pastries, hot dogs and lasagne. The hotel did not offer anything for the inconvience of being stuck in the elevator and after complaining only reimbursed us one day restort fee. Would I return NO. Was it absolutely the worse NO. You get what you pay for! Watch for hidden cost.

First of all directly infront of the building was constrution that made it some what difficult to get into the building. The resort fees that we were told were refundable if none of the aminities were used....was a lie. We were told two totally different stories. The beds are cheap..They made a large amount of noise. Great hotel with a good restaurant right inside. It's about 10 blocks N of the S Beach action so if you arent in the mood for a short walk or cab ride, the restaurant and service is great. Room was clean and comfortable and they have a nice jacuzzi in the courtyard of the hotel. The hotel reminded me of a hacienda - I really liked it. Cant wait for […] all the construction to be done around that area. Public parking lot right in front of hotel can be cheaper than the hotels limited lot which is $22 a day - ask at the front desk which is better for you depending on your plans. Läs mer

I do not Like this Hotel. The service is bad. The restaurant is bad too.

Overall nice hotel!! Great price and not too far from all the action. The only problem i had was with the tub, towards the back was mold and cracked. Friendly staff and comfy beds.

The Claridge is a nice hotel that has a lot of charm. It is located a block from a great beach and within walking distance of some good restaurants. The rooms are adequate but not modern. The beds were ok (not super soft like some of the reviews). They do not have many king size beds. We requested one but got a standard room which comes with a queen. […] You would have to pay more for a king. Surprise: We were not informed about an additional $9.95 resort fee you must pay. This includes a continental breakfast, towels for the beach (which are average, not plush), and internet fees. We could barely get a good signal in our room and had to use the lobby to send attachments on email. There are no beach chairs so we bought an umbrella at Wallgreens on 23rd St. (within walking distance) and laid on the towels provided (not the most comfy but would do just fine). The rates were very good compared to other hotels during Miami Music Week (WMC) and so we would consider booking again. In South Beach/Miami Beach where you typically "get what you pay for or below expectations" the hotel was a pleasant surprise; a lot of charm, quiet, clean i.e. not falling apart, no cracked tiles in bathroom, and has a feel of being updated/kept up. However, you don't have the extra amenities as with higher priced chains or all-inclusive type resorts. The service was excellent. Overall, it has a European feel rather than a Miami vibe which was nice if you want to be away from the craziness of downtown. There were a few places to eat and get groceries (rooms have a fridge). The only downside was that we could hear our neighbors (we were in room 212). One would think due to the thick walls of an old building like this, you would not. I believe this was because there was a locked door in our room which actually lead into our neighbors room thus making it a 2 room suite. We only needed an overnight stay in Miami, but this hotel was a bit more than we expected. As for the rooms, it was no different than most hotels. Beds, sink, and shower were fine. But the hotel itself is nice looking, even for the Miami Beach area. The staff was helpful, even pointing us to free parking across the street. Walking a block to the beach […] was nice also. Great place to stay for those on a budget. Our room and bathroom were spacious, clean and dust free. The Claridge was pretty and comfortable without being tacky. Nice, Spanish colonial-style furniture and decor. I hope they keep it maintained as well as it was and I wish them a lot of success. Our stay here was relatively normal. The location was good, though not as close to the main areas of South Beach as I was lead to believe. However, all the main "hotspots" were within a 5-10 minute drive depending on traffic. The hotel had some maintenance issues (cracked tiles, noises, etc) that is to be expected of a hotel of this age in this area. […] However, overall we enjoyed our stay. Everything about the hotel was great except that the beds were old and made lots of creaking noise, other than that the hotel was everything we hoped for.

Dinners were very tasty and nicely presented (Italian cuisine). Breakfasts were expensive with really small portions and very slow service.

We loved our stay at the Claridge Hotel! The beach and boardwalk are right across the street, and the Art Deco area is maybe a 25 min beautiful walk from the hotel (or an inexpensive taxi ride). We love walking, so this was no problem for us. The beach was quiet- so if you like a beach where people are not sharing your towel with you, this is the location […] to be. The room and hotel itself were really nice, stylish, and comfortable- really liked the mediterranean ambiance. Most importantly to us, it was very clean! The location of the hotel seems safe, though the area looks like it is a work in progress. There are some abandoned what-looks-to-be hotels or apartment complexes around. We liked the rates and feel of this nice hotel. I am always glad to find a hotel that has a personal feel to it (getting tired of the big boring chains). We'll definately stay there again on our next trip to Miami! Also very nice staff!

Hotel Claridge in Miami Beach is a 5-min busride away from Ocean Drive. It's very close to the beach, but there are no restaurants or shops in walking distance. The rooms are quiet, nice and clean, but there is no ocean-view unless you are on the top-floor. IT WAS GROSS!! My wife and I decided to come to Miami for our honeymoon and after reading reviews on a few dozen hotels, The Claridge sounded kind of nice. So we booked it. When we walked into the hotel my wife and I started getting a little nervous that the room is gonna be a dump. Anyway when we get upstairs I tried sticking the card key into the […] door numrous times but to no avail. After 2 minutes or so I hear someone banging back at me from inside my room. I went downstairs and the clerk wrote the wrong room down on my card. When we finally got to our room my wife made me walk in first to make sure nothing or no one jumps out at us. We walked in and it smelled so bad!! Everything was so old!! The room was tiny! No where to put our stuff down. My wife picked up the bed covers and there were hairs all over it!! Even worse the towels had stains all over them. To top it all off they kindly put out 2 bottles of water for us on the desk and wwhen I got back to NY after our "vacation" I had an $11 bill for those two bottles of water!!! We switched hotels after the first night to the Sherton which a tremendous relief. So to all my fellow vacationers I am just being a good samaritan and worning you to not stay here!!
