Great location. Right on the beach with many good restaurants nearby. Short walk to markets, restaurants, coffee shops and mini-marts. We paid a little extra to have an ocean view room and really felt it was worth it! The room itself was clean and cleaned daily. We arrived to the aroma of an oil burner with a very nice aromatherapy oil. The air conditioner […] was quiet enough to leave running all night, a necessity given the heat and humidity. Made for a very comfortable night's sleep. We had a pizza at the restaurant bar overlooking the beach. One pizza was sufficient for us to share for an evening meal. The only real problem with the resort is the tendency for people to reserve the poolside chairs for the day. Many were left empty for much of the day because someone had reserved them and were not using them. The hotel had a policy requesting their guests to share, but this doesn't seem to work with many of the hotel guests. Not sure what the answer is! We had a couple of meals at the nearby Cafe Opera. Good quality Thai food (other food was available, but hey, this was Thailand!) for 99 Bhat. Great music, table clothes and candles to go with the very nicely presented food. Always busy, which suggests we were not the only ones who liked this restaurant. Breakfast was great with a wide variety of food on offer. We had a wonderful stay at the Kata Beach Resort. Great location and the rooms were spacious. We had a balcony which allowed us to sit outside even when it was raining, which was great considering it rains for almost the whole time we were there! Food was good and the pool was big with ample comfortable deck chairs. On the whole, the service was good […] - only one disappointing experience was when we were leaving and i'd booked a taxi from across the street to take me to the airport as it was a lot cheaper than the one the hotel organized - we were on time, however they sent the taxi driver away before we got there and couldn't give me a straight answer as to why. Excellent resort for a relaxing holiday. Our room was serviced everyday and fresh bottled water given to you. Pools were great and the swim up bar is wonderful. Location was excellent - just over the road from shops and right on the beach. Buffet breakfast is excellent value and had a great variety. Would definately recommend!!

In general everything was really good. There are feel cultural issues which can be improved, for instance, it surprised me that the breakfast fruit didn't have a cover which very easily can attract flies, one day I pointed that to the staff and they made an effort, but next morning there it was uncovered again! Why not give the guests free WiFi, which […] forced us to eat outside the hotel, because the restaurants outside took advantage of this, while the restaurant in the hotel remained empty. A real shame! It would've been nice to have some sun loungers on the beach from the hotel and to have a member of staff keeping the beach clean. But there were many good points as well, staff on the pool were very nice, the room was kept very clean. I had a lovely surprise on my birthday to find a birthday cake in my room. This resort is in a great beach front location central to everything in Kata. Great view of the main beach while lazing on the resort's banana lounges. What we really liked was having the ocean and pool within metres of each other. We had a superior room which was towards the back of the resort with no views of the sea or pool which was quite dark. […] The room was clean but was a little tired looking and dated, as is the whole resort. Considering we didn't spend much time in the room, this was ok as the location of resort and pool area made up for it. The staff & service was great. Kata beach resort is in a superb location. Right in front of the beach, they even have rooms that have a private pool although it was under repair when we were there but definitely worth it to upgrade or spend a little for that next time we go back. At night there is a seafood BBQ place right on the beach, with make shift tables, cocktails and beer. definitely worth to check out at night. Taxi cost us 600baht from the airport to the hotel, make sure to go for the metered taxi rank on the right, outside the airport. Taxi drivers often give you their business card so for the end of your holiday, you can call them to take you back the airport. "KEEP IT" because taxi from the hotel cost 1200baht and outside the hotel cost 1000baht! Hotel Wifi cost a fortune, there is a good cafe just on the right side from the hotel, it gives you unlimited wifi, they even have a desktop that you can use. The cafe is called "Black Canyon Coffee" If you're thinking of going to Phuket city- there are two ways you can either catch the bus which is right outside the hotel, cost 30baht pp or taxi that cost 5oobaht. the bus takes a while though as they drive slowly so to get more customers but the experience is awesome! This was a very comfortable accommodation. Location was the absolute best! They have two outdoor pools, one large one and one smaller. The large one has a swim up bar. This pool is literally on the beach, you step down a few steps at the back of the hotel onto the sand. You can't get closer than that! I would prefer to go to one of the local cafe's/restaurants for breakfast. We stayed in a pool access room. Being able to drop into the pool straight from your private terrace was great. The pool is only accessible to those with pool access rooms and we found that we were often the only ones in it. Overall though I found this hotel dissapointing, some things were looking a little tired and worn (towels and linen with holes […] in it). Also our room was quite dark. The breakfast was dissapointing also- because it's such a large resort it felt like eating in the school canteen- madness! Location is good, some nice restaurants. We went to RE KATA which was excellent and such a nice spot for a special meal. For something a bit cheaper we also went to Capanina for pizza and wine which was good value for money. Loved the beautiful beach, great location, nice rooms, and lovely pool. I was just a little disappointed in the service. When we arrived, they said that the card for beach towels were "finished" for the day. So we had to return the next morning to retrieve a card for beach towels. Purchasing cards for internet time also seemed a bit antiquated. And […] of course, the best value internet cards were "finished" for the day. The crazed saving of pool chairs, mentioned in other reviews, is maddening. At 7 am I was met with all ocean facing pool chairs covered with pink towels sans any owners. The breakfast was a little scant on food selection. But despite these minor annoyances, we had a lovely time, enjoyed the beautiful beach, enjoyed the short stroll to the town for shopping, enjoyed a tour arranged by the tour desk, and would return again. We stayed for 4 nights after arriving from Singapore, before heading to Phi Phi Don. Was rather grumpy when we received a ground floor, mosquito infested room, furnishings and decor all very nice, but dark. The room also had 2 beds - I'm starting to think that when you request 'double bed' in Thailand, this is their interpretation, and is also 'standard […] room" so my first suggestion to anyone booking is to email the hotel itself (presuming you booked via Expedia or similar as the hotels are always way more expensive) and ensure you get ONE bed (unless you like 2 beds of course) and not on the ground floor. This was late at night so we just went to sleep, but complained in the morning that our room was a black hole and I was allergic to mosquitoes - they moved us quickly and politely to a much nicer room -one bed! The staff were very nice in this hotel and we had no further problems. Lobby areas are beautiful with stunning orchids everywhere. We did not have breakfast included so went to any of the restaurants within 2 minutes walk of the hotel - most do breakfast for a lot less than the hotel. We also ate no other meals at the hotel even though it looked nice, their restaurant was generally pretty empty presumably due to their cost, actually reasonable by NZ stds but about 3x the cost of all the restaurants around! The pool area and beach are gorgeous - have a cocktail at happy hour at sunset in a coconut or pineapple sitting in the pool -stunning. Läs mer

We did not book in time to get ocean view. Our "view" was a masonry wall with a rock garden. The room was very dark and gloomy. Very clean but normal Asia amenities like toothbrushes and slippers were not provided. Hotel internet is almost unusable. I bought a three day card and had to get a refund. Drinks seemed very expensive, two mojitos cost more […] than 400 baht at the pool bar. Did not eat in the restaurant but the nachos at the pool bar were almost inedible, which is why we did not try the restaurant. The location is great and the beach is beautiful. If you can get a room with a view, eat at local restaurants, and don't go crazy with drinks this can be a good value. Läs mer

For this trip all I wanted was a relaxing time, comfortable place to stay with some level of luxury, great beach and close to an area with local food, restaurants and bars. Kata Beach Resort had it all for me and was exactly what I wanted. The hotel was pretty good and definitely 4 star. Service was attentive, responsive and full of smiles. Being so close to the beach was the best point and a great beach, even in the rainy season. If it got a bit windy or rough, just fall back into one of the pools at Kata Beach Resort. The main pool was big and made great cocktails at the swim up bar. The smaller pool next to one of the restaurants was my pick though, no kids and overlooking the beach. This restaurant also does great steaks, pizza and Thai seafood. The rooms were comfortable and cleaned every day... clean, not poky and a great balcony. Some rooms would have great views, but many don't... but remember, not everyone can get that dream ocean view. Our room you could see the beach a little, but if you want that dream sunset, head down to the pool, beach or restaurant. Outside, the resort next to a good bunch or cafes, restaurants, bars and local food stalls. 44 Bar, Italian Job (Coffee) and the noodle guy outside 44 Bar were the hits for me. Kata Beach Resort was a fantastic hotel to stay at. Kata beach is so much more relaxing and peaceful than Patong - highly recommended. And because the resort was so luxurious with beautiful swimming pools and located right on the beach front, we spent many days just chillin by the pool and beach instead of having to go out and about. The staff were […] friendly, although language was a barrier sometimes. They all understand basic English but they struggle to understand if you try to ask for anything out of the ordinary. we stayed in this place because it was on the beach and should have been nicer than the hotel we stayed in behind it a couple of years ago. unfortunately, this was our least favorite in a 3 hotel vacation. the service was ok but we had to switch rooms b/c of room conditions and we lost our view of the ocean. as usual, they over charged westerners for […] as much as they could. which i could deal with if the place wasn't starting to get run down and the staff was nicer. the rooms are dated, and so is the decor. they have definietly taken on the western apathetic approach to customer service. stay across the street. it's less expensive and they try much harder to help you enjoy your stay Läs mer

We stayed at this hotel in August for 10 days. The sea view room was nice but there was an awful musty damp smell and the paint was peeling off the bhathroom ceiling. The breakfast was boring and not enough variety and the quality of some of the cooked foods (with the exception fo the bacon and eggs) was poor. Even the boiled eggs one morning were raw […] (we asked for 5 minute eggs and they must have been done for about 30 seconds they were really raw). The hotel was being worked on and there were jackhammers there most of the day, and although it did not really impose, if you had wanted a quiet lie down in the bedroom on an afternoon you would have been dissapointed. However the hotel was in need of a facelift as it is looking tired. Having said all that we did have a good time, the location of the hotel is great and the beach itself is lovely and clean. Traders did not bother you and there were plenty of restaurants in the area. The rooms were always cleaned and the staff helpful. It will not stop us from going again, but we may try the KAron Beach resort next time. Läs mer

El hotel esta bien ubicado, frente a la playa.. a las afueras hay tienditas tipicas de la zona de kata beach, para llegar a patong beach no esta tan lejos pero hay que tomar un tuk tuk (vale la pena la experiencia) que cuesta 500 baths, pero vale la pena porque la vida nocturna de patong no tiene comparacion con la de kata, si embargo en patong no hay […] gran opcion de hoteles a la orilla del mar, asi que kata beach es perfecta para hospedarse si quieres ir en las noches a pasear a patong, ya sea cena, bares, malecon, mercadillos.... Lo malo del hotel, es que es un hotel viejo, le falta remodelacion y actividades, de todos los hoteles que nos hospedamos en Asia ha sido el mas antiguo, si consigues otro mejor!! hay mas opciones en kata!! El desayuno es buffet pero no es taan amplio.. El hotel esta ubicado frente al mar, pero ojo, la playa es publica, asi que encontraras gente ajena al hotel y los camastros te los cobran aparte!! Selve hotellet og beliggenhed er over middel og er bl.a. nabo til Boathouse på stranden. Men personalet er desværre meget lidt servicebevidste og udstråler på ingen måde den gæstfrihed som almindelige Thai´er udstråler. 一人旅で五日間スーペリアルームに宿泊しました。 部屋もベッドも十分な広さだったと思います。 朝ごはんはバイキング型式で種類が豊富で毎朝楽しみでした。 空港からの乗合バスの運転手の話しだと、このホテルは どちらかというと、年配の方が多いとのことでしたが、 正にその通りで静かでゆったりとした滞在ができました。 （私自身は二十代の若者ですが） ビーチが近くカタビーチの繁華街にも近いので、 カタビーチでの滞在を考えている方には自信を持ってオススメします。 受付の方もいい意味で気さくで感じ良く、また利用したいと思います。

Hotellet som sådan fejler intet. Fine værelser med godt badeværelse. Dog vender de fleste altaner mod hinanden, så man skal 'strække hals' for at se havet. Servicen er dog ringe - især ved poolen/pool baren. Poolen er super god - til både voksne og børn, men meget crowded. Det er stort set umuligt at få liggestole ved poolen, hvis man kommer efter kl […] 8.30. Til trods for at hotellet forbyder, at man reserverer stolene (ligger sit håndklæde uden at være til stede), så blir dette ikke håndhævet - tværtimod! Resortet ligger lige på en dejlig strand, hvilket er de færeste resorter på Phuket som gør. Prøv restauranterne på klippen i sydenden af Kata - den er super. Alt i alt er prisen på dette resort meget høj ifht. hvad man får - i hvert fald, hvis man sammenligner med, hvad man kan få, hvis man tager til Lanta eller Phi Phi. Läs mer
