I stay at Hilton hotels a fair bit for work which is why I chose this for a family weekend visit. However this certainly falls below par with other Hiltons that I have stayed in, it's fairly old and quite tired but the room was well appointed and could not fault the cleanliness of the room either. First night phone didn't work, heating was at max. The maintenance staff and duty manager were unable to fix both. So the manager opened the window to our room, this did not help either. Only down side the shower curtains were very creased and the bath had a few chips in the enamel, but apart from that the room and the hotel facilities were fantastic.

It was dated and had a funny smell, i got a wake up call i hadnt asked for and the key card had to be changed several times. it isnt up to the Hilton standard as i would expected.

Bedroom very poor, booked a delux room at considerable extra cost and in no way was this room delux. It was very small with poor facilities. The Hotel's definition of a delux room, was apparently, according to the reception staff, a standard room which had been redecorated. Bed was the most uncomfortable I have slept in. Very lumpy, hard and the springs […] twanged each time I made the slightest movement. Obviiusly the matress was poor quality and long past itys working life.. A Premier Inn or Travelodge would have provided a bigger, much better and more comfortable room with better facilities at almost half the cost. This is a great stop-off hotel if, like us, you are sailing from Southampton and have a long drive from Scotland or the North to get there. Only drawback is that food's a touch on the pricy side.

It was OK. I would have been really peed off if I had paid full price for the room. The beds were not very nice and made a squeaking noise every time you sat or moved on it. We had two rooms and both beds were the same. The hotel is an easy 10-15 walk (or 3 minute drive) along one road to the town center. the beds were to high very stressful to climb in and have to slide out with care,also the toilet was very low and with arthritic hips not very good.they also did not have a wheel chair which I needed when my hip gave out. not very good at all.

When arriving at the hotel we were greeted by a friendly, professional member of the front desk staff who was very welcoming. We thought the room looked lovely however the tv remote had been stuck together by cellotape, there was only 1 big bath towel within a double room, the toilet didnt flush very well and after running myself a bath i found a few […] hairs that were clearly not mine, my worst pet hate!! This wasnt expected of a hilton hotel. The bar staff were very friendly too and professional and we had a pleasant drink in the bar area. After the worst night sleep ever due to the bed being hard, even with a mattress topper on we did have a lovely breakfast where we were given a huge choice of whatever we wanted to eat and lots of much needed coffee! Second visit in a week. Clean, comfortable, staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast lovely - definitely to be recommended, will be staying again in the future.

Hotel and staff were very good. Only negative was that corridors had tired decor, (paper pealing etc) in contrast to the good standard within the rooms.

I booked using Hotels.com and arrived after 9:30 for them to tell me they have no rooms... They did find one but after a lot of messing about. Hotel is in a good location but the rooms are fairly run down. It's OK if you need to stop there or if there are no alternatives.

I must say I was disappointed with my room. It was small, noisy and freezing! However the staff provided excellent service and for this reason, I gave it a higher score than I would have. My suggestion would be to make sure you aren't on the ground floor if you don't like noise. The "free" WiFi kicked me off every hour and the hour which became very […] tiring. The workout room was very small and often busy. Unless you have a car, this hotel isn't near any restaurants/pubs, shopping etc. It was a good mile and no good walking paths. Moved into this hotel on return from holiday as our house had been flooded. The staff and management were excellent and looked after us during a difficult period and could not have been more considerate and friendly.

This hotel is conveniently located off the M3 in Basingstoke. Large, free carpark for guests. The room was very shabby. Old carpets, a very squeaky bed, very old and tatty furniture. I stayed in this hotel last week and whilst the hotel is nicer on the inside than the outside I did have a few problems. The wireless disconnected at various points and the codes from reception didn't work. I ended up using my mobile broadband. The other issue was the bar tender, I purchased some drinks but paid cash, he still put the payment on my […] room. This hotel is not worthy of a 4 star rating in my opinion. We stayed in one of the upgraded rooms, and were booked in for 6 nights.There was NO air conditioning, and as the weather had been hot ,the room was absolutely stifling. quite unbearable, even with all windows open sleep was very difficult. Despite phoning ahead to reconfirm (even though hotels.com said there was no need) the guy at reception had no idea who we were. There was no queue but it took half an hour to get checked in. We were asked our name 5 times! Asked to spell it 3 times. It's only 5 letters long and is a common name. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent. Felt free to come and go as we wished. Checkin process was efficient and quick. Location is ok, handy for motorway and other main roads and plenty of parking. Only complaint was that it took a couple of phone calls to request milk for coffee and toilet rolls

Terrible stay. Although most staff were polite and courteous we experienced several unforgivable oversights. My husband is disabled so we requested an accessible double room when we booked almost 6 months in advance. At no point did anyone contact us to say that they don't provide double accessible rooms - only twin ones. Incredibly embarrassing upon […] arrival to be asked whether our priority was a double bed or accessibility, as there are no double rooms for disabled people. No lifts to 1st floor, corridors uneven and caused falls. Shower curtain spontaneously fell down, iron didn't heat up enough to iron, bed moved across the room whenever sat on it as wheels didn't lock. Ordered breakfast to room - wrong order, arrived cold, coffee in paper cup, toast burnt & strangely wrapped in tissues that stuck to it! Left finished tray in corridor as requested - still there 11pm with other guests' rubbish piled on and stinking! Room wasn't cleaned. Kitchen manager redeemed breakfast botch-up as 2nd morning it was delicious & hot, man who delivered it was lovely & told us room service charged had been waivered. Too little too late though. I have been staying at this hotel for about 4 days two months ago and two days this time. Decided not to stay here any more due to it's expensive surcharge on Internet/wifi and tiny double bed. I almost fall off the bed one night. The room facing the street gets noisy in the morning rush hour as well.

Not a bad hotel, clean and convenient for Basingstoke city centre. But the ridiculous prices of drinks at thebar would definitely put me off staying there again. I have stayed in much higher rated hotels in major cities and not been charged as much for a glass of wine

There was no air-con in the room and it was extreemely hot and uncomfortable. Windows were locked shut so it was impossible to cool the room. No bottled water in the room and no dispensing machines available to purchase one. Free Wifi only available in deluxe rooms, would expect this as standard for a business hotel. Excellent room , great facilities , great price, pleasant and helpful staff. Cost only £5 more than Travelodge normally charge so was a bit hesitant but it exceeded all expectations and left the opposition standing. Restaurant and bar of excellent quality in house as well. We will definitely check this chain out for our next break - think the name Hilton […] always made us feel it was a bit pricey so never really considered it but on your website it was cheaper than the others for the night we required so we gave it a go - really pleased we did.
