Had a large room with gorgeous windows overlooking the square, super comfortable bed, loved it. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is very well decorated and I thought our room was spacious. My only complaints are that it was a $15 extra charge to have a fridge in the room. Despite our request there was no fridge. Others in our group had fridges standard in the room which did not make a lot of sense. Also, our room faced the courtyard area near the ballroom. There was […] a rowdy wedding that night and people were hanging out and drinking until around 3 a.m. It woke me up several times. This was an excellent hotel, however the youthful help seemed little interested in their guests. Given the rates this was unacceptable. Too bad otherwise this was truly a remarkable experience in an interesting city.

My daughter and I have been to Gettysburg probably 10 times. This was our favorite hotel we ever stayed in. It was convenient and clean. The only thing we could say at all negative was that there was no book in our room about amenities or services. It would have been nice to know there was brewed coffee in the lobby for free instead of drinking the […] 0ne-cup-at-a-time swill in the room or going out to the coffee shop and paying. I read the reviews so I knew what to expect. The hotel is central to everything. As soon as the town settled in for the night, the hotel was quiet. The room was completely renovated (you may want to get the cobwebs off the sprinklers) but I am hoping you have curtains on order. The hotel has a great location. The service was a bit sketchy and follow through on some request made were not done. There are no DVD players in rooms (with kids would be helpful) and a soap dish on sink would help keep sink area neater throughout the day. We were disappointed in our stay at the Gettysburg Hotel. It was our 25th wedding anniversary and we could have went anywhere. We chose the hotel and asked for a room with a view to celebrate our anniversary. We got a room facing the back at the hotel. The staff was fair. I don't often have to get out of the way of the staff at hotel I am staying at, […] but this seems to happen fairly frequently at the hotel. The tavern was advertised to be open that weekend ,after construction yet it was not.Also I was given wrong information about parking And frequently had trouble getting in and out of the parking lot. The room they initially put me in was room 201. It was terrible. The carpet has large dark spots and lighting was very bad. The door has a gap of two inches between the bottom of the door and the floor to the outside of the room. Walls were paper thin and every noise could be heard outside. 5th stay at this hotel. Frist stay in a room in old part of hotel (rm 218) Room was good but needs to be updated. Needs pictures over bed--modern flat screen tv--windows very dirty-bathroom really needs work. Will still stay again but will request a room i like instead of pot luck. Great hotel and location. Walking distance to most things in town.

We have stayed at the Gettysburg Hotel for several years and look forward to a pleasant stay each time. We are never disappointed. I did notice this time that the windows were dirty, but that would be my only complaint. I noticed a nice combination of young, middle-age, and older couples there as well as children.

The stay was great. Only complaint was that maid service didn't show up until 4:30PM when I was ready to head out to a wedding. Had to decline service and make my own bed. Otherwise everyone was pleasant and helpful.

stayed here in october for a quick weekend getaway. lucked out and got a suite with a sitting room which came in handy when we wanted to watch a football game with friends on saturday eve. awesome location on the square. excellent breakfast with friendly accomodating staff. would recommend to friends and stay here again

The hotel is in the center of Gettysburg—convenient for walking to restaurants, shops, etc, BUT… The room was advertised as having two double beds; it had one. My son could not sleep on the cot provided because he could feel metal bars through the mattress. We put the mattress on the floor. The windows were so dirty that one could barely see out on […] a sunny day. After being gone all day—returning at 6 pm—our room still had not been cleaned. We've stayed at this hotel on different occasions. The location is it's best feature. When we arrived the rooms were not ready even though it was check in time. We sat and waited a half an hour. There were at least four other people waiting. When you travel having a room available is a plus.The room we were given was spacious and clean. The downside […] was that traffic noises begin at 5 AM. Hotel Gettysburg is always a lovely place to stay. It is clean and very conveniently located. The only drawbacks are that there is no free breakfast, and although I appreciate energy saving, the couple of lights in the room, furnished with energy saver lightbulbs leave the room so dark you can barely read a book! Hotel bedding needs updated, especially the mattress! Other than that, the hotel is clean, staff is friendly, and it's centrally located. They do have coffee in the lobby which is better than the coffee in the room. Tons of interesting little shops all around.

Overall, our stay was very nice. There is definitely a need for more help at your front desk. At one point, there were 4 people in line and the phone was ringing non-stop! I also experienced a long wait on the phone the night I tried to make the reservation. Also, there should be at least one bed pillow that is not so puffy.

This was our second stay at the Best Western Gettysburg Hotel. We love it's location. My only suggestion would be some sort of continental breakfast. You can not have a simple breakfast in the hotel. It's their breakfast buffet, or nothing. Better yet, I wish they would include breakfast!!

I don't know if they put me in this room because I had pre-paid on Hotels.com or not, but my room was on the second floor facing the square and was the noisiest room I have EVER been in. I truly felt like I was in the middle of Times Square. Actually, that would have been quieter. The main road that was in front of my window turns into a truck route […] at night and all I heard were huge trucks BARRELING down the road. Price of parking was not included in Hotel description. The items we did not like were: 1. It took 30 minutes to get our food after ordering it from the Tavern. 2. We requested a roll away bed and it arrived with no pillow. When we call for 2 more, they delivered only 1 because the hotel was full and they did not have anymore. 3. great location, historical building .. nice area of town with many local dining options. Rooms and halls quite dark. Room was large but 40% of the room was not used / empty .. it would have been ideal to put a sitting area / sofa or extra bed (not needed for us) ... but seemed strange to have the bed on one side and the other side empty

I've been here before and I'll go back again and again. The location is beautiful as is the hotel. The rooms are a little small, but that should be expected in a historic hotel such as this. There are also no refrigerators, something we've become accustomed to in most hotels.

This is a very nice property and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is rated poorly for two reasons. First, the air conditioning is terrible. granted our visit was in August, but that is when you need AC and the hotel system for the room was not up to the job at all. Could not have wished for a better location in Gettysburg. Very helpful staff and excellent facilities at the hotel. Good restaurant with the option of a pub serving the same menu. Ideally situation in the centre of the town and within easy distance of all the battlefield history.
