Think faded Miami Beach hotel redolent with mildew and sub standard AC in not the nicest part of Mumbai and presto - you are at the "Sun and Sand!" The mildew odor should be a deal breaker in a $230 per night room. The bed was a flat mattress typical of 1970's India (where I grew up) and totally uncomfortable! The sparse plastic laminated wood furniture […] belongs in 1950's fleabag SoBe hotel. The bathroom was grungy. The shower curtain did not cover the tub, so the entire room would flood with each shower. Clearly the hotelwalla wanted us to use the plastic cup to bathe. I overheard at the not so free breakfast that a woman at the next table had bugs in her bathroom. The worst part is that the hotel made me pay for two nights when I only stayed one night. The expedia site says that rooms are only guaranteed until midnight. So, I booked the hotel for the next day saying that I would arrive between 1:20 AM and check out at noon. Not only did the hotel not have anyone pick me up at 1AM, I had to call the hotel three times to get someone there by 3AM who had no hotel identifying garb or signage and did not know my name! Sun and Sand would not honor entreaties from Expedia or Amex to honor a night stay as I clearly emailed to the hotel. Stay with a chain or better yet at a marquee hotel in Colaba. My stay was pretty good, and the hotel is nice enough, and clean. But it's not very close to Juhu beach and the wifi is shockingly slow. But the alfresco dining is great and the kebab hut has really lovely food. But it's worth popping next door to the chic bar at the Novotel hotel.

As during our india itinery we stayed in the beginning in Sun and Sands and in the end in the Novotel (each next block from the other) we had a direct comparison of these 2 hotels. Both hotels are nice - but: the Novotel is cheaper and in addition everywhere a tick betteter (nicer pool area, better service, cheaper etc.). If staying again there I would […] prefer Novotel. The hotel is old and it shows. It is somewhat less expensive than the nearby 5-stars, so I chose this one. But you get what you pay for. So don't assume that you are a winner. There was maintenance work done all through one night during my 4 day stay and the noise disturbed my sleep. The food (other than the breakfast) was barely OK. There is a dinner […] buffet, which is good, but the quality is not that great given the price. Most of the Indian fare was too oily for my test. The breakfast is good though. The breakfast and airport transfer were included. So that is good. The location is good. The hotel is by the beach. But if you walk right outside, it is very dirty for a few blocks until you reach the main road of Juhu. Beyond that, there are restaurants and shops. Overall, I will probably stay there again if I get a good deal, but I will keep my options open. Läs mer

Big enough yet small enough to listen. We went as a family of three and found hotel and staff very accommodating. Lovely poolside. Gorgeous food.

The assistant general manager uses expletives when you tell him that there is a chemical odor coming into the room. This after repeated reminders to the staff for hours that finally got an expletive laden response from the assistant general manager. Finally, the manager of house keeping acknowledged that there were chemicals that were being used in […] the room below and that the air ducts were sucking the fumes and blasting it through the air conditioner into my room. Even then the assistant general manager refused to believe anyone claiming "he knew the hotel better than anyone else". He continued with his expletives at which point, I checked out early from the hotel. To my dismay I noticed later after checking out from the hotel that my flip video camera and iphone headphones had gone missing. So, much for hospitality Sun n Sand. Too bad a landmark that I grew up with in India has been reduced to hiring an AGM that clearly not only does not understand the hospitality industry but needs anger management therapy. Läs mer

Lovely clean and well kept hotel although it did have a bit of a damp issue and there was building work going on whilst we were there which created noises late at night. But other than that a lovely hotel.

sun n sand is a nice clean comfortable hotel but it's 5 star prices do not translate to 5 star comforts. it's a good 3-4 star hotel with 5 star prices. the staff are courteous and helpful and location is good.

I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel in general; the service all over was exceptional. My one and only disappointment was the fact that I booked an executive room for three, parents and myself. I made three requests for extra bed to be brought upstairs, none ever showed. I made certain I spoke to the receptionist and housekeeping on […] the same subject matter. But, unfortunately, my requests were overlooked. Nonetheless, I did enjoy my stay there. My wife and I had a great stay at the Sun n Sand where the staff were friendly and helpful, everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Excellent food and a great happy hour and should you want to explore Mumbai the consierge will arrange everything for you. Sun and Sand er et 5 stjerners hotell med fantastisk servise og god mat, men det koster å spise der iforhold til andre gode resturanter. Happy hour fra 1930-2030 med gratis drikke er et godt initativ. stranden er dårlig og overbefolket og ikke brukende for oss. servisen er upåklagelig litt mye hint om tips fra renholdere. Hôtel correct mais prés de la mer qui fait un bruit d'enfer. Les murs sont en carton pâtes et donc on entend tout. En cas de transit, a déconseiller car pour un "nuit" de repos, c'est pas top.

Had dit hotel gekozen vanwege de ligging middenin Juhu, vlakbij Bandra. Het ligt prachtig aan zee aan een rustig stukje. Het heeft een mooi zwembad waar een fijne zeebries waait. Kamer prima, meubilair beetje outdated maar het was wel heel schoon. Heel fijn is de airport shuttle die bij de reservering inbegrepen is en het internet is gratis op de kamer. […] Het ontbijt vond ik matig, beperkt aanbod en sommige dingen waren gewoon niet erg lekker. Moest meestal twee keer om iets vragen voordat het gebeurde. Ze zijn ook niet heel meegaand als je bijv iets voor je kind vraagt (een kleinere portie). Dit hotel noemt zich 5-sterren maar vergeleken met andere 5-sterren hotels in Mumbai (waar ze echt enorm hun best doen om het je naar de zin te maken) zou ik het eerder 3,5 a 4 sterren geven. Das Hotel ist sehr persönlich und nicht so groß wie die internationalen Hotelketten. Es hat seinen eigenen Charme, die Lage direkt am Strand von Juhu ist echt toll, die diversen Restaurants sind ebenfalls sehr gut. Das Personal gibt sich viel Mühe, man wird nach wenigen Tagen persönlich am Pool oder beim Frühstück begrüßt, alle sind sehr bemüht, einem […] den Aufenthalt sehr angenehm zu machen. Läs mer
